1Thus all the work that Solomon wrought for the house of Jehovah was finished. And Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, even the silver, and the gold, and all the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of the house of God.
1Ainsi fut achevé tout l'ouvrage que Salomon fit pour la maison de l'Eternel. Puis il apporta l'argent, l'or et tous les ustensiles que David, son père, avait consacrés, et il les mit dans les trésors de la maison de Dieu.
1ותשלם כל המלאכה אשר עשה שלמה לבית יהוה ויבא שלמה את קדשי דויד אביו ואת הכסף ואת הזהב ואת כל הכלים נתן באצרות בית האלהים׃
2Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers' [houses] of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the city of David, which is Zion.
2Alors Salomon assembla à Jérusalem les anciens d'Israël et tous les chefs des tribus, les chefs de famille des enfants d'Israël, pour transporter de la cité de David, qui est Sion, l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel.
2אז יקהיל שלמה את זקני ישראל ואת כל ראשי המטות נשיאי האבות לבני ישראל אל ירושלם להעלות את ארון ברית יהוה מעיר דויד היא ציון׃
3nd all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto the king at the feast, which was [in] the seventh month.
3Tous les hommes d'Israël se réunirent auprès du roi pour la fête, qui se célébra le septième mois.
3ויקהלו אל המלך כל איש ישראל בחג הוא החדש השבעי׃
4And all the elders of Israel came: and the Levites took up the ark;
4Lorsque tous les anciens d'Israël furent arrivés, les Lévites portèrent l'arche.
4ויבאו כל זקני ישראל וישאו הלוים את הארון׃
5and they brought up the ark, and the tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; these did the priests the Levites bring up.
5Ils transportèrent l'arche, la tente d'assignation, et tous les ustensiles sacrés qui étaient dans la tente: ce furent les sacrificateurs et les Lévites qui les transportèrent.
5ויעלו את הארון ואת אהל מועד ואת כל כלי הקדש אשר באהל העלו אתם הכהנים הלוים׃
6And king Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.
6Le roi Salomon et toute l'assemblée d'Israël convoquée auprès de lui se tinrent devant l'arche. Ils sacrifièrent des brebis et des boeufs, qui ne purent être ni comptés, ni nombrés, à cause de leur multitude.
6והמלך שלמה וכל עדת ישראל הנועדים עליו לפני הארון מזבחים צאן ובקר אשר לא יספרו ולא ימנו מרב׃
7And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Jehovah unto its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.
7Les sacrificateurs portèrent l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel à sa place, dans le sanctuaire de la maison, dans le lieu très saint, sous les ailes des chérubins.
7ויביאו הכהנים את ארון ברית יהוה אל מקומו אל דביר הבית אל קדש הקדשים אל תחת כנפי הכרובים׃
8For the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
8Les chérubins avaient les ailes étendues sur la place de l'arche, et ils couvraient l'arche et ses barres par-dessus.
8ויהיו הכרובים פרשים כנפים על מקום הארון ויכסו הכרובים על הארון ועל בדיו מלמעלה׃
9And the staves were so long that the ends of the staves were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen without: and there it is unto this day.
9On avait donné aux barres une longueur telle que leurs extrémités se voyaient à distance de l'arche devant le sanctuaire, mais ne se voyaient point du dehors. L'arche a été là jusqu'à ce jour.
9ויאריכו הבדים ויראו ראשי הבדים מן הארון על פני הדביר ולא יראו החוצה ויהי שם עד היום הזה׃
10There was nothing in the ark save the two tables which Moses put [there] at Horeb, when Jehovah made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.
10Il n'y avait dans l'arche que les deux tables que Moïse y plaça en Horeb, lorsque l'Eternel fit alliance avec les enfants d'Israël, à leur sortie d'Egypte.
10אין בארון רק שני הלחות אשר נתן משה בחרב אשר כרת יהוה עם בני ישראל בצאתם ממצרים׃
11And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, (for all the priests that were present had sanctified themselves, and did not keep their courses;
11Au moment où les sacrificateurs sortirent du lieu saint, -car tous les sacrificateurs présents s'étaient sanctifiés sans observer l'ordre des classes,
11ויהי בצאת הכהנים מן הקדש כי כל הכהנים הנמצאים התקדשו אין לשמור למחלקות׃
12also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, even Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and their brethren, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets;)
12et tous les Lévites qui étaient chantres, Asaph, Héman, Jeduthun, leurs fils et leurs frères, revêtus de byssus, se tenaient à l'orient de l'autel avec des cymbales, des luths et des harpes, et avaient auprès d'eux cent vingt sacrificateurs sonnant des trompettes,
12והלוים המשררים לכלם לאסף להימן לידתון ולבניהם ולאחיהם מלבשים בוץ במצלתים ובנבלים וכנרות עמדים מזרח למזבח ועמהם כהנים למאה ועשרים מחצררים בחצצרות׃
13it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking Jehovah; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised Jehovah, [saying], For he is good; for his lovingkindness [endureth] for ever; that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of Jehovah,
13et lorsque ceux qui sonnaient des trompettes et ceux qui chantaient, s'unissant d'un même accord pour célébrer et pour louer l'Eternel, firent retentir les trompettes, les cymbales et les autres instruments, et célébrèrent l'Eternel par ces paroles: Car il est bon, car sa miséricorde dure à toujours! en ce moment, la maison, la maison de l'Eternel fut remplie d'une nuée.
13ויהי כאחד למחצצרים ולמשררים להשמיע קול אחד להלל ולהדות ליהוה וכהרים קול בחצצרות ובמצלתים ובכלי השיר ובהלל ליהוה כי טוב כי לעולם חסדו והבית מלא ענן בית יהוה׃
14so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of Jehovah filled the house of God.
14Les sacrificateurs ne purent pas y rester pour faire le service, à cause de la nuée; car la gloire de l'Eternel remplissait la maison de Dieu.
14ולא יכלו הכהנים לעמוד לשרת מפני הענן כי מלא כבוד יהוה את בית האלהים׃
