1In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.
1De son temps, Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, se mit en campagne. Jojakim lui fut assujetti pendant trois ans; mais il se révolta de nouveau contre lui.
1בימיו עלה נבכדנאצר מלך בבל ויהי לו יהויקים עבד שלש שנים וישב וימרד בו׃
2And Jehovah sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spake by his servants the prophets.
2Alors l'Eternel envoya contre Jojakim des troupes de Chaldéens, des troupes de Syriens, des troupes de Moabites et des troupes d'Ammonites; il les envoya contre Juda pour le détruire, selon la parole que l'Eternel avait prononcée par ses serviteurs les prophètes.
2וישלח יהוה בו את גדודי כשדים ואת גדודי ארם ואת גדודי מואב ואת גדודי בני עמון וישלחם ביהודה להאבידו כדבר יהוה אשר דבר ביד עבדיו הנביאים׃
3Surely at the commandment of Jehovah came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,
3Cela arriva uniquement sur l'ordre de l'Eternel, qui voulait ôter Juda de devant sa face, à cause de tous les péchés commis par Manassé,
3אך על פי יהוה היתה ביהודה להסיר מעל פניו בחטאת מנשה ככל אשר עשה׃
4and also for the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood: and Jehovah would not pardon.
4et à cause du sang innocent qu'avait répandu Manassé et dont il avait rempli Jérusalem. Aussi l'Eternel ne voulut-il point pardonner.
4וגם דם הנקי אשר שפך וימלא את ירושלם דם נקי ולא אבה יהוה לסלח׃
5Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
5Le reste des actions de Jojakim, et tout ce qu'il a fait, cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda?
5ויתר דברי יהויקים וכל אשר עשה הלא הם כתובים על ספר דברי הימים למלכי יהודה׃
6So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers; and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
6Jojakim se coucha avec ses pères. Et Jojakin, son fils, régna à sa place.
6וישכב יהויקים עם אבתיו וימלך יהויכין בנו תחתיו׃
7And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land; for the king of Babylon had taken, from the brook of Egypt unto the river Euphrates, all that pertained to the king of Egypt.
7Le roi d'Egypte ne sortit plus de son pays, car le roi de Babylone avait pris tout ce qui était au roi d'Egypte depuis le torrent d'Egypte jusqu'au fleuve de l'Euphrate.
7ולא הסיף עוד מלך מצרים לצאת מארצו כי לקח מלך בבל מנחל מצרים עד נהר פרת כל אשר היתה למלך מצרים׃
8Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned in Jerusalem three months: and his mother's name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
8Jojakin avait dix-huit ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna trois mois à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Nehuschtha, fille d'Elnathan, de Jérusalem.
8בן שמנה עשרה שנה יהויכין במלכו ושלשה חדשים מלך בירושלם ושם אמו נחשתא בת אלנתן מירושלם׃
9And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that his father had done.
9Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Eternel, entièrement comme avait fait son père.
9ויעש הרע בעיני יהוה ככל אשר עשה אביו׃
10At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
10En ce temps-là, les serviteurs de Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, montèrent contre Jérusalem, et la ville fut assiégée.
10בעת ההיא עלה עבדי נבכדנאצר מלך בבל ירושלם ותבא העיר במצור׃
11And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came unto the city, while his servants were besieging it;
11Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, arriva devant la ville pendant que ses serviteurs l'assiégeaient.
11ויבא נבוכדנאצר מלך בבל על העיר ועבדיו צרים עליה׃
12and Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.
12Alors Jojakin, roi de Juda, se rendit auprès du roi de Babylone, avec sa mère, ses serviteurs, ses chefs et ses eunuques. Et le roi de Babylone le fit prisonnier, la huitième année de son règne.
12ויצא יהויכין מלך יהודה על מלך בבל הוא ואמו ועבדיו ושריו וסריסיו ויקח אתו מלך בבל בשנת שמנה למלכו׃
13And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold, which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of Jehovah, as Jehovah had said.
13Il tira de là tous les trésors de la maison de l'Eternel et les trésors de la maison du roi; et il brisa tous les ustensiles d'or que Salomon, roi d'Israël, avait faits dans le temple de l'Eternel, comme l'Eternel l'avait prononcé.
13ויוצא משם את כל אוצרות בית יהוה ואוצרות בית המלך ויקצץ את כל כלי הזהב אשר עשה שלמה מלך ישראל בהיכל יהוה כאשר דבר יהוה׃
14And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths; none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.
14Il emmena en captivité tout Jérusalem, tous les chefs et tous les hommes vaillants, au nombre de dix mille exilés, avec tous les charpentiers et les serruriers: il ne resta que le peuple pauvre du pays.
14והגלה את כל ירושלם ואת כל השרים ואת כל גבורי החיל עשרה אלפים גולה וכל החרש והמסגר לא נשאר זולת דלת עם הארץ׃
15And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon; and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the chief men of the land, carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
15Il transporta Jojakin à Babylone; et il emmena captifs de Jérusalem à Babylone la mère du roi, les femmes du roi et ses eunuques, et les grands du pays,
15ויגל את יהויכין בבלה ואת אם המלך ואת נשי המלך ואת סריסיו ואת אולי הארץ הוליך גולה מירושלם בבלה׃
16And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths a thousand, all of them strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.
16tous les guerriers au nombre de sept mille, et les charpentiers et les serruriers au nombre de mille, tous hommes vaillants et propres à la guerre. Le roi de Babylone les emmena captifs à Babylone.
16ואת כל אנשי החיל שבעת אלפים והחרש והמסגר אלף הכל גבורים עשי מלחמה ויביאם מלך בבל גולה בבלה׃
17And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah, [Jehoiachin's] father's brother, king is his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
17Et le roi de Babylone établit roi, à la place de Jojakin, Matthania, son oncle, dont il changea le nom en celui de Sédécias.
17וימלך מלך בבל את מתניה דדו תחתיו ויסב את שמו צדקיהו׃
18Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
18Sédécias avait vingt et un ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Hamuthal, fille de Jérémie, de Libna.
18בן עשרים ואחת שנה צדקיהו במלכו ואחת עשרה שנה מלך בירושלם ושם אמו חמיטל בת ירמיהו מלבנה׃
19And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
19Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Eternel, entièrement comme avait fait Jojakim.
19ויעש הרע בעיני יהוה ככל אשר עשה יהויקים׃
20For through the anger of Jehovah did it come to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
20Et cela arriva à cause de la colère de l'Eternel contre Jérusalem et contre Juda, qu'il voulait rejeter de devant sa face. Et Sédécias se révolta contre le roi de Babylone.
20כי על אף יהוה היתה בירושלם וביהודה עד השלכו אתם מעל פניו וימרד צדקיהו במלך בבל׃
