1I charge [thee] in the sight of God, and of Christ Jesus, who shall judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:

1לכן אני מעיד בך נגד האלהים ונגד אדנינו ישוע המשיח הבא לשפט את החיים ואת המתים בהופעתו ובמלכותו׃
2preach the word; be urgent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
2prêche la parole, insiste en toute occasion, favorable ou non, reprends, censure, exhorte, avec toute douceur et en instruisant.
2הכרז את הדבר והתמד בין בעתו בין שלא בעתו הוכח וגער והזהר בכל ארך רוח והוראה׃
3For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts;
3Car il viendra un temps où les hommes ne supporteront pas la saine doctrine; mais, ayant la démangeaison d'entendre des choses agréables, ils se donneront une foule de docteurs selon leurs propres désirs,
3כי בוא תבא העת אשר לא יכילו את הלקח הבריא כי אם כאות נפשם יקבצו להם מורים לשעשעי אזנים׃
4and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables.
4détourneront l'oreille de la vérité, et se tourneront vers les fables.
4ויטו אזניהם מן האמת ויפנו אל ההגדות׃
5But be thou sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry.
5Mais toi, sois sobre en toutes choses, supporte les souffrances, fais l'oeuvre d'un évangéliste, remplis bien ton ministère.
5אבל אתה היה ער בכל סבל הרעות ועשה מלאכת המבשר ומלא את שרותך׃
6For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure is come.
6Car pour moi, je sers déjà de libation, et le moment de mon départ approche.
6כי עתה זה אסך נסך ועת פטירתי הגיעה׃
7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith:
7J'ai combattu le bon combat, j'ai achevé la course, j'ai gardé la foi.
7המלחמה הטובה נלחמתי את המרוצה השלמתי את האמונה שמרתי׃
8henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all them that have loved his appearing.
8Désormais la couronne de justice m'est réservée; le Seigneur, le juste juge, me la donnera dans ce jour-là, et non seulement à moi, mais encore à tous ceux qui auront aimé son avènement.
8ומעתה שמור לי כתר הצדקה אשר ביום ההוא יתננו לי האדון השפט הצדיק ולא לי לבדי כי גם לכל אהבי הופעתו׃
9Give diligence to come shortly unto me:
9Viens au plus tôt vers moi;
9חושה לבוא אלי במהרה׃
10for Demas forsook me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.
10car Démas m'a abandonné, par amour pour le siècle présent, et il est parti pour Thessalonique; Crescens est allé en Galatie, Tite en Dalmatie.
10כי דימס עזבני באהבתו את העולם הזה וילך לו לתסלוניקי וקריסקיס הלך לגלטיא וטיטוס לדלמטיא׃
11Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee; for he is useful to me for ministering.
11Luc seul est avec moi. Prends Marc, et amène-le avec toi, car il m'est utile pour le ministère.
11ולוקס הוא לבדו עמדי קח את מרקוס והביאהו אתך כי יועיל לי למאד לעבודה׃
12But Tychicus I sent to Ephesus.
12J'ai envoyé Tychique à Ephèse.
12את טוכיקוס שלחתי לאפסוס׃
13The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, bring when thou comest, and the books, especially the parchments.
13Quand tu viendras, apporte le manteau que j'ai laissé à Troas chez Carpus, et les livres, surtout les parchemins.
13את המטפחת שהנחתי בטרואס אצל קרפוס הביאהו אתך בבואך ואף את הספרים ובפרט את המגלות של קלף׃
14Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord will render to him according to his works:
14Alexandre, le forgeron, m'a fait beaucoup de mal. Le Seigneur lui rendra selon ses oeuvres.
14אלכסנדר חרש הנחשת עשה לי רעות רבות ישלם לו יהוה כמעשיו׃
15of whom do thou also beware; for he greatly withstood our words.
15Garde-toi aussi de lui, car il s'est fortement opposé à nos paroles.
15וגם אתה השמר לך ממנו כי מרו מרה את דברינו׃
16At my first defence no one took my part, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their account.
16Dans ma première défense, personne ne m'a assisté, mais tous m'ont abandonné. Que cela ne leur soit point imputé!
16בהתנצלותי הראשונה לא היה איש לעזרני כי כלם עזבוני אל יחשב להם עון׃
17But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might me fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
17C'est le Seigneur qui m'a assisté et qui m'a fortifié, afin que la prédication fût accomplie par moi et que tous les païens l'entendissent. Et j'ai été délivré de la gueule du lion.
17אבל האדון הוא עזרני וחזקני למען תשלם על ידי הבשורה וישמעוה כל הגוים ואנצל מפי אריה׃
18The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom [be] the glory forever and ever. Amen.
18Le Seigneur me délivrera de toute oeuvre mauvaise, et il me sauvera pour me faire entrer dans son royaume céleste. A lui soit la gloire aux siècles des siècles! Amen!

21Give diligence to come before winter. Eubulus saluteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.

21חושה לבוא לפני הסתיו אובולוס ופודיס ולינוס וקלודיה והאחים כלם שאלים לשלומך׃
22The Lord be with thy spirit. Grace be with you.
