¹At that time Jehovah said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.

¹En ce temps-là, l'Eternel me dit: Taille deux tables de pierre comme les premières, et monte vers moi sur la montagne; tu feras aussi une arche de bois.

¹בעת ההוא אמר יהוה אלי פסל לך שני לוחת אבנים כראשנים ועלה אלי ההרה ועשית לך ארון עץ׃

²And I will write on the tables the words that were on the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.

²J'écrirai sur ces tables les paroles qui étaient sur les premières tables que tu as brisées, et tu les mettras dans l'arche.

²ואכתב על הלחת את הדברים אשר היו על הלחת הראשנים אשר שברת ושמתם בארון׃

³So I made an ark of acacia wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in my hand.

³Je fis une arche de bois d'acacia, je taillai deux tables de pierre comme les premières, et je montai sur la montagne, les deux tables dans ma main.

³ואעש ארון עצי שטים ואפסל שני לחת אבנים כראשנים ואעל ההרה ושני הלחת בידי׃

⁴And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which Jehovah spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and Jehovah gave them unto me.

⁴L'Eternel écrivit sur les tables ce qui avait été écrit sur les premières, les dix paroles qu'il vous avait dites sur la montagne, du milieu du feu, le jour de l'assemblée; et l'Eternel me les donna.

⁴ויכתב על הלחת כמכתב הראשון את עשרת הדברים אשר דבר יהוה אליכם בהר מתוך האש ביום הקהל ויתנם יהוה אלי׃

⁵And I turned and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they are as Jehovah commanded me.

⁵Je retournai et je descendis de la montagne, je mis les tables dans l'arche que j'avais faite, et elles restèrent là, comme l'Eternel me l'avait ordonné.

⁵ואפן וארד מן ההר ואשם את הלחת בארון אשר עשיתי ויהיו שם כאשר צוני יהוה׃

⁶(And the children of Israel journeyed from Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest's office in his stead.

⁶Les enfants d'Israël partirent de Beéroth-Bené Jaakan pour Moséra. C'est là que mourut Aaron, et qu'il fut enterré; Eléazar, son fils, lui succéda dans le sacerdoce.

⁶ובני ישראל נסעו מבארת בני יעקן מוסרה שם מת אהרן ויקבר שם ויכהן אלעזר בנו תחתיו׃

⁷From thence they journeyed unto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water.

⁷Ils partirent de là pour Gudgoda, et de Gudgoda pour Jothbatha, pays où il y a des cours d'eaux.

⁷משם נסעו הגדגדה ומן הגדגדה יטבתה ארץ נחלי מים׃

⁸At that time Jehovah set apart the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, to stand before Jehovah to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.

⁸En ce temps-là, l'Eternel sépara la tribu de Lévi, et lui ordonna de porter l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel, de se tenir devant l'Eternel pour le servir, et de bénir le peuple en son nom: ce qu'elle a fait jusqu'à ce jour.

⁸בעת ההוא הבדיל יהוה את שבט הלוי לשאת את ארון ברית יהוה לעמד לפני יהוה לשרתו ולברך בשמו עד היום הזה׃

⁹Wherefore Levi hath no portion nor inheritance with his brethren; Jehovah is his inheritance, according as Jehovah thy God spake unto him.)

⁹C'est pourquoi Lévi n'a ni part ni héritage avec ses frères: l'Eternel est son héritage, comme l'Eternel, ton Dieu, le lui a dit.

⁹על כן לא היה ללוי חלק ונחלה עם אחיו יהוה הוא נחלתו כאשר דבר יהוה אלהיך לו׃

¹⁰And I stayed in the mount, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights: and Jehovah hearkened unto me that time also; Jehovah would not destroy thee.

¹⁰Je restai sur la montagne, comme précédemment, quarante jours et quarante nuits. L'Eternel m'exauça encore cette fois; l'Eternel ne voulut pas te détruire.

¹⁰ואנכי עמדתי בהר כימים הראשנים ארבעים יום וארבעים לילה וישמע יהוה אלי גם בפעם ההוא לא אבה יהוה השחיתך׃

¹¹And Jehovah said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people; and they shall go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.

¹¹L'Eternel me dit: Lève-toi, va, marche à la tête du peuple. Qu'ils aillent prendre possession du pays que j'ai juré à leurs pères de leur donner.

¹¹ויאמר יהוה אלי קום לך למסע לפני העם ויבאו וירשו את הארץ אשר נשבעתי לאבתם לתת להם׃

¹²And now, Israel, what doth Jehovah thy God require of thee, but to fear Jehovah thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Jehovah thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

¹²Maintenant, Israël, que demande de toi l'Eternel, ton Dieu, si ce n'est que tu craignes l'Eternel, ton Dieu, afin de marcher dans toutes ses voies, d'aimer et de servir l'Eternel, ton Dieu, de tout ton coeur et de toute ton âme;

¹²ועתה ישראל מה יהוה אלהיך שאל מעמך כי אם ליראה את יהוה אלהיך ללכת בכל דרכיו ולאהבה אתו ולעבד את יהוה אלהיך בכל לבבך ובכל נפשך׃

¹³to keep the commandments of Jehovah, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

¹³si ce n'est que tu observes les commandements de l'Eternel et ses lois que je te prescris aujourd'hui, afin que tu sois heureux?

¹³לשמר את מצות יהוה ואת חקתיו אשר אנכי מצוך היום לטוב לך׃

¹⁴Behold, unto Jehovah thy God belongeth heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth, with all that is therein.

¹⁴Voici, à l'Eternel, ton Dieu, appartiennent les cieux et les cieux des cieux, la terre et tout ce qu'elle renferme.

¹⁴הן ליהוה אלהיך השמים ושמי השמים הארץ וכל אשר בה׃

¹⁵Only Jehovah had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all peoples, as at this day.

¹⁵Et c'est à tes pères seulement que l'Eternel s'est attaché pour les aimer; et, après eux, c'est leur postérité, c'est vous qu'il a choisis d'entre tous les peuples, comme vous le voyez aujourd'hui.

¹⁵רק באבתיך חשק יהוה לאהבה אותם ויבחר בזרעם אחריהם בכם מכל העמים כיום הזה׃

¹⁶Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

¹⁶Vous circoncirez donc votre coeur, et vous ne roidirez plus votre cou.

¹⁶ומלתם את ערלת לבבכם וערפכם לא תקשו עוד׃

¹⁷For Jehovah your God, he is God of gods, and Lord of lords, the great God, the mighty, and the terrible, who regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward.

¹⁷Car l'Eternel, votre Dieu, est le Dieu des dieux, le Seigneur des seigneurs, le Dieu grand, fort et terrible, qui ne fait point acception des personnes et qui ne reçoit point de présent,

¹⁷כי יהוה אלהיכם הוא אלהי האלהים ואדני האדנים האל הגדל הגבר והנורא אשר לא ישא פנים ולא יקח שחד׃

¹⁸He doth execute justice for the fatherless and widow, and loveth the sojourner, in giving him food and raiment.

¹⁸qui fait droit à l'orphelin et à la veuve, qui aime l'étranger et lui donne de la nourriture et des vêtements.

¹⁸עשה משפט יתום ואלמנה ואהב גר לתת לו לחם ושמלה׃

¹⁹Love ye therefore the sojourner; for ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

¹⁹Vous aimerez l'étranger, car vous avez été étrangers dans le pays d'Egypte.

¹⁹ואהבתם את הגר כי גרים הייתם בארץ מצרים׃

²⁰Thou shalt fear Jehovah thy God; him shalt thou serve; and to him shalt thou cleave, and by his name shalt thou swear.

²⁰Tu craindras l'Eternel, ton Dieu, tu le serviras, tu t'attacheras à lui, et tu jureras par son nom.

²⁰את יהוה אלהיך תירא אתו תעבד ובו תדבק ובשמו תשבע׃

²¹He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.

²¹Il est ta gloire, il est ton Dieu: c'est lui qui a fait au milieu de toi ces choses grandes et terribles que tes yeux ont vues.

²¹הוא תהלתך והוא אלהיך אשר עשה אתך את הגדלת ואת הנוראת האלה אשר ראו עיניך׃

²²Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now Jehovah thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.

²²Tes pères descendirent en Egypte au nombre de soixante-dix personnes; et maintenant l'Eternel, ton Dieu, a fait de toi une multitude pareille aux étoiles des cieux.

²²בשבעים נפש ירדו אבתיך מצרימה ועתה שמך יהוה אלהיך ככוכבי השמים לרב׃
