1And Jehovah spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
1L'Eternel dit à Moïse et à Aaron dans le pays d'Egypte:
1ויאמר יהוה אל משה ואל אהרן בארץ מצרים לאמר׃
2This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
2Ce mois-ci sera pour vous le premier des mois; il sera pour vous le premier des mois de l'année.
2החדש הזה לכם ראש חדשים ראשון הוא לכם לחדשי השנה׃
3Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth [day] of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers' houses, a lamb for a household:
3Parlez à toute l'assemblée d'Israël, et dites: Le dixième jour de ce mois, on prendra un agneau pour chaque famille, un agneau pour chaque maison.
3דברו אל כל עדת ישראל לאמר בעשר לחדש הזה ויקחו להם איש שה לבית אבת שה לבית׃
4and if the household be too little for a lamb, then shall he and his neighbor next unto his house take one according to the number of the souls; according to every man's eating ye shall make your count for the lamb.
4Si la maison est trop peu nombreuse pour un agneau, on le prendra avec son plus proche voisin, selon le nombre des personnes; vous compterez pour cet agneau d'après ce que chacun peut manger.
4ואם ימעט הבית מהית משה ולקח הוא ושכנו הקרב אל ביתו במכסת נפשת איש לפי אכלו תכסו על השה׃
5Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old: ye shall take it from the sheep, or from the goats:
5Ce sera un agneau sans défaut, mâle, âgé d'un an; vous pourrez prendre un agneau ou un chevreau.
5שה תמים זכר בן שנה יהיה לכם מן הכבשים ומן העזים תקחו׃
6and ye shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at even.
6Vous le garderez jusqu'au quatorzième jour de ce mois; et toute l'assemblée d'Israël l'immolera entre les deux soirs.
6והיה לכם למשמרת עד ארבעה עשר יום לחדש הזה ושחטו אתו כל קהל עדת ישראל בין הערבים׃
7And they shall take of the blood, and put it on the two side-posts and on the lintel, upon the houses wherein they shall eat it.
7On prendra de son sang, et on en mettra sur les deux poteaux et sur le linteau de la porte des maisons où on le mangera.
7ולקחו מן הדם ונתנו על שתי המזוזת ועל המשקוף על הבתים אשר יאכלו אתו בהם׃
8And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
8Cette même nuit, on en mangera la chair, rôtie au feu; on la mangera avec des pains sans levain et des herbes amères.
8ואכלו את הבשר בלילה הזה צלי אש ומצות על מררים יאכלהו׃
9Eat not of it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roast with fire; its head with its legs and with the inwards thereof.
9Vous ne le mangerez point à demi cuit et bouilli dans l'eau; mais il sera rôti au feu, avec la tête, les jambes et l'intérieur.
9אל תאכלו ממנו נא ובשל מבשל במים כי אם צלי אש ראשו על כרעיו ועל קרבו׃
10And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; but that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
10Vous n'en laisserez rien jusqu'au matin; et, s'il en reste quelque chose le matin, vous le brûlerez au feu.
10ולא תותירו ממנו עד בקר והנתר ממנו עד בקר באש תשרפו׃
11And thus shall ye eat it: with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is Jehovah's passover.
11Quand vous le mangerez, vous aurez vos reins ceints, vos souliers aux pieds, et votre bâton à la main; et vous le mangerez à la hâte. C'est la Pâque de l'Eternel.
11וככה תאכלו אתו מתניכם חגרים נעליכם ברגליכם ומקלכם בידכם ואכלתם אתו בחפזון פסח הוא ליהוה׃
12For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will smite all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am Jehovah.
12Cette nuit-là, je passerai dans le pays d'Egypte, et je frapperai tous les premiers-nés du pays d'Egypte, depuis les hommes jusqu'aux animaux, et j'exercerai des jugements contre tous les dieux de l'Egypte. Je suis l'Eternel.
12ועברתי בארץ מצרים בלילה הזה והכיתי כל בכור בארץ מצרים מאדם ועד בהמה ובכל אלהי מצרים אעשה שפטים אני יהוה׃
13And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and there shall no plague be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
13Le sang vous servira de signe sur les maisons où vous serez; je verrai le sang, et je passerai par-dessus vous, et il n'y aura point de plaie qui vous détruise, quand je frapperai le pays d'Egypte.
13והיה הדם לכם לאת על הבתים אשר אתם שם וראיתי את הדם ופסחתי עלכם ולא יהיה בכם נגף למשחית בהכתי בארץ מצרים׃
14And this day shall be unto you for a memorial, and ye shall keep it a feast to Jehovah: throughout your generations ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
14Vous conserverez le souvenir de ce jour, et vous le célébrerez par une fête en l'honneur de l'Eternel; vous le célébrerez comme une loi perpétuelle pour vos descendants.
14והיה היום הזה לכם לזכרון וחגתם אתו חג ליהוה לדרתיכם חקת עולם תחגהו׃
15Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
15Pendant sept jours, vous mangerez des pains sans levain. Dès le premier jour, il n'y aura plus de levain dans vos maisons; car toute personne qui mangera du pain levé, du premier jour au septième jour, sera retranchée d'Israël.
15שבעת ימים מצות תאכלו אך ביום הראשון תשביתו שאר מבתיכם כי כל אכל חמץ ונכרתה הנפש ההוא מישראל מיום הראשן עד יום השבעי׃
16And in the first day there shall be to you a holy convocation, and in the seventh day a holy convocation; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done by you.
16Le premier jour, vous aurez une sainte convocation; et le septième jour, vous aurez une sainte convocation. On ne fera aucun travail ces jours-là; vous pourrez seulement préparer la nourriture de chaque personne.
16וביום הראשון מקרא קדש וביום השביעי מקרא קדש יהיה לכם כל מלאכה לא יעשה בהם אך אשר יאכל לכל נפש הוא לבדו יעשה לכם׃
17And ye shall observe the [feast of] unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance for ever.
17Vous observerez la fête des pains sans levain, car c'est en ce jour même que j'aurai fait sortir vos armées du pays d'Egypte; vous observerez ce jour comme une loi perpétuelle pour vos descendants.
17ושמרתם את המצות כי בעצם היום הזה הוצאתי את צבאותיכם מארץ מצרים ושמרתם את היום הזה לדרתיכם חקת עולם׃
18In the first [month], on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
18Le premier mois, le quatorzième jour du mois, au soir, vous mangerez des pains sans levain jusqu'au soir du vingt et unième jour.
18בראשן בארבעה עשר יום לחדש בערב תאכלו מצת עד יום האחד ועשרים לחדש בערב׃
19Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a sojourner, or one that is born in the land.
19Pendant sept jours, il ne se trouvera point de levain dans vos maisons; car toute personne qui mangera du pain levé sera retranchée de l'assemblée d'Israël, que ce soit un étranger ou un indigène.
19שבעת ימים שאר לא ימצא בבתיכם כי כל אכל מחמצת ונכרתה הנפש ההוא מעדת ישראל בגר ובאזרח הארץ׃
20Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.
20Vous ne mangerez point de pain levé; dans toutes vos demeures, vous mangerez des pains sans levain.
20כל מחמצת לא תאכלו בכל מושבתיכם תאכלו מצות׃
21Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out, and take you lambs according to your families, and kill the passover.
21Moïse appela tous les anciens d'Israël, et leur dit: Allez prendre du bétail pour vos familles, et immolez la Pâque.
21ויקרא משה לכל זקני ישראל ויאמר אלהם משכו וקחו לכם צאן למשפחתיכם ושחטו הפסח׃
22And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side-posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.
22Vous prendrez ensuite un bouquet d'hysope, vous le tremperez dans le sang qui sera dans le bassin, et vous toucherez le linteau et les deux poteaux de la porte avec le sang qui sera dans le bassin. Nul de vous ne sortira de sa maison jusqu'au matin.
22ולקחתם אגדת אזוב וטבלתם בדם אשר בסף והגעתם אל המשקוף ואל שתי המזוזת מן הדם אשר בסף ואתם לא תצאו איש מפתח ביתו עד בקר׃
23For Jehovah will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side-posts, Jehovah will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
23Quand l'Eternel passera pour frapper l'Egypte, et verra le sang sur le linteau et sur les deux poteaux, l'Eternel passera par-dessus la porte, et il ne permettra pas au destructeur d'entrer dans vos maisons pour frapper.
23ועבר יהוה לנגף את מצרים וראה את הדם על המשקוף ועל שתי המזוזת ופסח יהוה על הפתח ולא יתן המשחית לבא אל בתיכם לנגף׃
24And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.
24Vous observerez cela comme une loi pour vous et pour vos enfants à perpétuité.
24ושמרתם את הדבר הזה לחק לך ולבניך עד עולם׃
25And it shall come to pass, when ye are come to the land which Jehovah will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
25Quand vous serez entrés dans le pays que l'Eternel vous donnera, selon sa promesse, vous observerez cet usage sacré.
25והיה כי תבאו אל הארץ אשר יתן יהוה לכם כאשר דבר ושמרתם את העבדה הזאת׃
26And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?
26Et lorsque vos enfants vous diront: Que signifie pour vous cet usage?
26והיה כי יאמרו אליכם בניכם מה העבדה הזאת לכם׃
27that ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of Jehovah's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.
27vous répondrez: C'est le sacrifice de Pâque en l'honneur de l'Eternel, qui a passé par-dessus les maisons des enfants d'Israël en Egypte, lorsqu'il frappa l'Egypte et qu'il sauva nos maisons. Le peuple s'inclina et se prosterna.
27ואמרתם זבח פסח הוא ליהוה אשר פסח על בתי בני ישראל במצרים בנגפו את מצרים ואת בתינו הציל ויקד העם וישתחוו׃
28And the children of Israel went and did so; as Jehovah had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
28Et les enfants d'Israël s'en allèrent, et firent ce que l'Eternel avait ordonné à Moïse et à Aaron; ils firent ainsi.
28וילכו ויעשו בני ישראל כאשר צוה יהוה את משה ואהרן כן עשו׃
29And it came to pass at midnight, that Jehovah smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the first-born of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the first-born of cattle.
29Au milieu de la nuit, l'Eternel frappa tous les premiers-nés dans le pays d'Egypte, depuis le premier-né de Pharaon assis sur son trône, jusqu'au premier-né du captif dans sa prison, et jusqu'à tous les premiers-nés des animaux.
29ויהי בחצי הלילה ויהוה הכה כל בכור בארץ מצרים מבכר פרעה הישב על כסאו עד בכור השבי אשר בבית הבור וכל בכור בהמה׃
30And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
30Pharaon se leva de nuit, lui et tous ses serviteurs, et tous les Egyptiens; et il y eut de grands cris en Egypte, car il n'y avait point de maison où il n'y eût un mort.
30ויקם פרעה לילה הוא וכל עבדיו וכל מצרים ותהי צעקה גדלה במצרים כי אין בית אשר אין שם מת׃
31And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve Jehovah, as ye have said.
31Dans la nuit même, Pharaon appela Moïse et Aaron, et leur dit: Levez-vous, sortez du milieu de mon peuple, vous et les enfants d'Israël. Allez, servez l'Eternel, comme vous l'avez dit.
31ויקרא למשה ולאהרן לילה ויאמר קומו צאו מתוך עמי גם אתם גם בני ישראל ולכו עבדו את יהוה כדברכם׃
32Take both your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.
32Prenez vos brebis et vos boeufs, comme vous l'avez dit; allez, et bénissez-moi.
32גם צאנכם גם בקרכם קחו כאשר דברתם ולכו וברכתם גם אתי׃
33And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, to send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We are all dead men.
33Les Egyptiens pressaient le peuple, et avaient hâte de le renvoyer du pays, car ils disaient: Nous périrons tous.
33ותחזק מצרים על העם למהר לשלחם מן הארץ כי אמרו כלנו מתים׃
34And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading-troughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.
34Le peuple emporta sa pâte avant qu'elle fût levée. Ils enveloppèrent les pétrins dans leurs vêtements, et les mirent sur leurs épaules.
34וישא העם את בצקו טרם יחמץ משארתם צררת בשמלתם על שכמם׃
35And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment.
35Les enfants d'Israël firent ce que Moïse avait dit, et ils demandèrent aux Egyptiens des vases d'argent, des vases d'or et des vêtements.
35ובני ישראל עשו כדבר משה וישאלו ממצרים כלי כסף וכלי זהב ושמלת׃
36And Jehovah gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. And they despoiled the Egyptians.
36L'Eternel fit trouver grâce au peuple aux yeux des Egyptiens, qui se rendirent à leur demande. Et ils dépouillèrent les Egyptiens.
36ויהוה נתן את חן העם בעיני מצרים וישאלום וינצלו את מצרים׃
37And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, besides children.
37Les enfants d'Israël partirent de Ramsès pour Succoth au nombre d'environ six cent mille hommes de pied, sans les enfants.
37ויסעו בני ישראל מרעמסס סכתה כשש מאות אלף רגלי הגברים לבד מטף׃
38And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.
38Une multitude de gens de toute espèce montèrent avec eux; ils avaient aussi des troupeaux considérables de brebis et de boeufs.
38וגם ערב רב עלה אתם וצאן ובקר מקנה כבד מאד׃
39And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt; for it was not leavened, because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victuals.
39Ils firent des gâteaux cuits sans levain avec la pâte qu'ils avaient emportée d'Egypte, et qui n'était pas levée; car ils avaient été chassés d'Egypte, sans pouvoir tarder, et sans prendre des provisions avec eux.
39ויאפו את הבצק אשר הוציאו ממצרים עגת מצות כי לא חמץ כי גרשו ממצרים ולא יכלו להתמהמה וגם צדה לא עשו להם׃
40Now the time that the children of Israel dwelt in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years.
40Le séjour des enfants d'Israël en Egypte fut de quatre cent trente ans.
40ומושב בני ישראל אשר ישבו במצרים שלשים שנה וארבע מאות שנה׃
41And it came to pass at the end of four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of Jehovah went out from the land of Egypt.
41Et au bout de quatre cent trente ans, le jour même, toutes les armées de l'Eternel sortirent du pays d'Egypte.
41ויהי מקץ שלשים שנה וארבע מאות שנה ויהי בעצם היום הזה יצאו כל צבאות יהוה מארץ מצרים׃
42It is a night to be much observed unto Jehovah for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of Jehovah, to be much observed of all the children of Israel throughout their generations.
42Cette nuit sera célébrée en l'honneur de l'Eternel, parce qu'il les fit sortir du pays d'Egypte; cette nuit sera célébrée en l'honneur de l'Eternel par tous les enfants d'Israël et par leurs descendants.
42ליל שמרים הוא ליהוה להוציאם מארץ מצרים הוא הלילה הזה ליהוה שמרים לכל בני ישראל לדרתם׃
43And Jehovah said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: there shall no foreigner eat thereof;
43L'Eternel dit à Moïse et à Aaron: Voici une ordonnance au sujet de la Pâque: Aucun étranger n'en mangera.
43ויאמר יהוה אל משה ואהרן זאת חקת הפסח כל בן נכר לא יאכל בו׃
44but every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
44Tu circonciras tout esclave acquis à prix d'argent; alors il en mangera.
44וכל עבד איש מקנת כסף ומלתה אתו אז יאכל בו׃
45A sojourner and a hired servant shall not eat thereof.
45L'habitant et le mercenaire n'en mangeront point.
45תושב ושכיר לא יאכל בו׃
46In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth aught of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.
46On ne la mangera que dans la maison; vous n'emporterez point de chair hors de la maison, et vous ne briserez aucun os.
46בבית אחד יאכל לא תוציא מן הבית מן הבשר חוצה ועצם לא תשברו בו׃
47All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.
47Toute l'assemblée d'Israël fera la Pâque.
47כל עדת ישראל יעשו אתו׃
48And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to Jehovah, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: but no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
48Si un étranger en séjour chez toi veut faire la Pâque de l'Eternel, tout mâle de sa maison devra être circoncis; alors il s'approchera pour la faire, et il sera comme l'indigène; mais aucun incirconcis n'en mangera.
48וכי יגור אתך גר ועשה פסח ליהוה המול לו כל זכר ואז יקרב לעשתו והיה כאזרח הארץ וכל ערל לא יאכל בו׃
49One law shall be to him that is home-born, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.
49La même loi existera pour l'indigène comme pour l'étranger en séjour au milieu de vous.
49תורה אחת יהיה לאזרח ולגר הגר בתוככם׃
50Thus did all the children of Israel; as Jehovah commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
50Tous les enfants d'Israël firent ce que l'Eternel avait ordonné à Moïse et à Aaron; ils firent ainsi.
50ויעשו כל בני ישראל כאשר צוה יהוה את משה ואת אהרן כן עשו׃
51And it came to pass the selfsame day, that Jehovah did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their hosts.
51Et ce même jour l'Eternel fit sortir du pays d'Egypte les enfants d'Israël, selon leurs armées.
51ויהי בעצם היום הזה הוציא יהוה את בני ישראל מארץ מצרים על צבאתם׃
