¹The word of Jehovah came again unto me, saying,

¹La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

¹ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃

²And thou, son of man, take up a lamentation over Tyre;

²Et toi, fils de l'homme, Prononce sur Tyr une complainte!

²ואתה בן אדם שא על צר קינה׃

³and say unto Tyre, O thou that dwellest at the entry of the sea, that art the merchant of the peoples unto many isles, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, O Tyre, hast said, I am perfect in beauty.

³Tu diras à Tyr: O toi qui es assise au bord de la mer, Et qui trafiques avec les peuples d'un grand nombre d'îles! Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Tyr, tu disais: Je suis parfaite en beauté!

³ואמרת לצור הישבתי על מבואת ים רכלת העמים אל איים רבים כה אמר אדני יהוה צור את אמרת אני כלילת יפי׃

⁴Thy borders are in the heart of the seas; thy builders have perfected thy beauty.

⁴Ton territoire est au coeur des mers; Ceux qui t'ont bâtie t'ont rendue parfaite en beauté.

⁴בלב ימים גבוליך בניך כללו יפיך׃

⁵They have made all thy planks of fir-trees from Senir; they have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for thee.

⁵Avec des cyprès de Senir ils ont fait tous tes lambris; Ils ont pris des cèdres du Liban pour t'élever un mât;

⁵ברושים משניר בנו לך את כל לחתים ארז מלבנון לקחו לעשות תרן עליך׃

⁶Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; they have made thy benches of ivory inlaid in boxwood, from the isles of Kittim.

⁶Ils ont fabriqué tes rames avec des chênes de Basan, Et tes bancs avec de l'ivoire travaillé dans du buis, Et apporté des îles de Kittim.

⁶אלונים מבשן עשו משוטיך קרשך עשו שן בת אשרים מאיי כתים׃

⁷Of fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was thy sail, that it might be to thee for an ensign; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was thine awning.

⁷Le fin lin d'Egypte avec des broderies Te servait de voiles et de pavillon; Des étoffes teintes en bleu et en pourpre des îles d'Elischa Formaient tes tentures.

⁷שש ברקמה ממצרים היה מפרשך להיות לך לנס תכלת וארגמן מאיי אלישה היה מכסך׃

⁸The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were thy rowers: thy wise men, O Tyre, were in thee, they were thy pilots.

⁸Les habitants de Sidon et d'Arvad étaient tes rameurs, Et les plus experts du milieu de toi, ô Tyr, étaient tes pilotes.

⁸ישבי צידון וארוד היו שטים לך חכמיך צור היו בך המה חבליך׃

⁹The old men of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee thy calkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to deal in thy merchandise.

⁹Les anciens de Guebal et ses ouvriers habiles étaient chez toi, Pour réparer tes fissures; Tous les navires de la mer et leurs mariniers étaient chez toi, Pour faire l'échange de tes marchandises.

⁹זקני גבל וחכמיה היו בך מחזיקי בדקך כל אניות הים ומלחיהם היו בך לערב מערבך׃

¹⁰Persia and Lud and Put were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.

¹⁰Ceux de Perse, de Lud et de Puth, servaient dans ton armée, C'étaient des hommes de guerre; Ils suspendaient chez toi le bouclier et le casque, Ils te donnaient de la splendeur.

¹⁰פרס ולוד ופוט היו בחילך אנשי מלחמתך מגן וכובע תלו בך המה נתנו הדרך׃

¹¹The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and valorous men were in thy towers; they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have perfected thy beauty.

¹¹Les enfants d'Arvad et tes guerriers garnissaient tes murs, Et de vaillants hommes occupaient tes tours; Ils suspendaient leurs boucliers à tous tes murs, Ils rendaient ta beauté parfaite.

¹¹בני ארוד וחילך על חומותיך סביב וגמדים במגדלותיך היו שלטיהם תלו על חומותיך סביב המה כללו יפיך׃

¹²Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded for thy wares.

¹²Ceux de Tarsis trafiquaient avec toi, A cause de tous les biens que tu avais en abondance; D'argent, de fer, d'étain et de plomb, Ils pourvoyaient tes marchés.

¹²תרשיש סחרתך מרב כל הון בכסף ברזל בדיל ועופרת נתנו עזבוניך׃

¹³Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy traffickers; they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass for thy merchandise.

¹³Javan, Tubal et Méschec trafiquaient avec toi; Ils donnaient des esclaves et des ustensiles d'airain En échange de tes marchandises.

¹³יון תבל ומשך המה רכליך בנפש אדם וכלי נחשת נתנו מערבך׃

¹⁴They of the house of Togarmah traded for thy wares with horses and war-horses and mules.

¹⁴Ceux de la maison de Togarma Pourvoyaient tes marchés de chevaux, de cavaliers et de mulets.

¹⁴מבית תוגרמה סוסים ופרשים ופרדים נתנו עזבוניך׃

¹⁵The men of Dedan were thy traffickers; many isles were the mart of thy hand: they brought thee in exchange horns of ivory and ebony.

¹⁵Les enfants de Dedan trafiquaient avec toi; Le commerce de beaucoup d'îles passait par tes mains; On te payait avec des cornes d'ivoire et de l'ébène.

¹⁵בני דדן רכליך איים רבים סחרת ידך קרנות שן והובנים השיבו אשכרך׃

¹⁶Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of thy handiworks: they traded for thy wares with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies.

¹⁶La Syrie trafiquait avec toi, A cause du grand nombre de tes produits; D'escarboucles, de pourpre, de broderies, De byssus, de corail et de rubis, Elle pourvoyait tes marchés.

¹⁶ארם סחרתך מרב מעשיך בנפך ארגמן ורקמה ובוץ וראמת וכדכד נתנו בעזבוניך׃

¹⁷Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy traffickers: they traded for thy merchandise wheat of Minnith, and pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.

¹⁷Juda et le pays d'Israël trafiquaient avec toi; Ils donnaient le froment de Minnith, La pâtisserie, le miel, l'huile et le baume, En échange de tes marchandises.

¹⁷יהודה וארץ ישראל המה רכליך בחטי מנית ופנג ודבש ושמן וצרי נתנו מערבך׃

¹⁸Damascus was thy merchant for the multitude of thy handiworks, by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches, with the wine of Helbon, and white wool.

¹⁸Damas trafiquait avec toi, A cause du grand nombre de tes produits, A cause de tous les biens que tu avais en abondance; Elle te fournissait du vin de Helbon et de la laine blanche.

¹⁸דמשק סחרתך ברב מעשיך מרב כל הון ביין חלבון וצמר צחר׃

¹⁹Vedan and Javan traded with yarn for thy wares: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were among thy merchandise.

¹⁹Vedan et Javan, depuis Uzal, Pourvoyaient tes marchés; Le fer travaillé, la casse et le roseau aromatique, Etaient échangés avec toi.

¹⁹ודן ויון מאוזל בעזבוניך נתנו ברזל עשות קדה וקנה במערבך היה׃

²⁰Dedan was thy trafficker in precious cloths for riding.

²⁰Dedan trafiquait avec toi En couvertures pour s'asseoir à cheval.

²⁰דדן רכלתך בבגדי חפש לרכבה׃

²¹Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they were the merchants of thy hand; in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these were they thy merchants.

²¹L'Arabie et tous les princes de Kédar trafiquaient avec toi, Et faisaient le commerce en agneaux, en béliers et en boucs.

²¹ערב וכל נשיאי קדר המה סחרי ידך בכרים ואילים ועתודים בם סחריך׃

²²The traffickers of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy traffickers; they traded for thy wares with the chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.

²²Les marchands de Séba et de Raema trafiquaient avec toi; De tous les meilleurs aromates, De toute espèce de pierres précieuses et d'or, Ils pourvoyaient tes marchés.

²²רכלי שבא ורעמה המה רכליך בראש כל בשם ובכל אבן יקרה וזהב נתנו עזבוניך׃

²³Haran and Canneh and Eden, the traffickers of Sheba, Asshur [and] Chilmad, were thy traffickers.

²³Charan, Canné et Eden, Les marchands de Séba, d'Assyrie, de Kilmad, Trafiquaient avec toi;

²³חרן וכנה ועדן רכלי שבא אשור כלמד רכלתך׃

²⁴These were thy traffickers in choice wares, in wrappings of blue and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.

²⁴Ils trafiquaient avec toi en belles marchandises, En manteaux teints en bleu, en broderies, En riches étoffes contenues dans des coffres Attachés avec des cordes, faits en bois de cèdre, Et amenés sur tes marchés.

²⁴המה רכליך במכללים בגלומי תכלת ורקמה ובגנזי ברמים בחבלים חבשים וארזים במרכלתך׃

²⁵The ships of Tarshish were thy caravans for thy merchandise: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the heart of the seas.

²⁵Les navires de Tarsis naviguaient pour ton commerce; Tu étais au comble de la richesse et de la gloire, Au coeur des mers.

²⁵אניות תרשיש שרותיך מערבך ותמלאי ותכבדי מאד בלב ימים׃

²⁶Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas.

²⁶Tes rameurs t'ont fait voguer sur les grandes eaux: Un vent d'orient t'a brisée au coeur des mers.

²⁶במים רבים הביאוך השטים אתך רוח הקדים שברך בלב ימים׃

²⁷Thy riches, and thy wares, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the dealers in thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, with all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy ruin.

²⁷Tes richesses, tes marchés et tes marchandises, Tes mariniers et tes pilotes, Ceux qui réparent tes fissures Et ceux qui s'occupent de ton commerce, Tous tes hommes de guerre qui sont chez toi Et toute la multitude qui est au milieu de toi Tomberont dans le coeur des mers, Au jour de ta chute.

²⁷הונך ועזבוניך מערבך מלחיך וחבליך מחזיקי בדקך וערבי מערבך וכל אנשי מלחמתך אשר בך ובכל קהלך אשר בתוכך יפלו בלב ימים ביום מפלתך׃

²⁸At the sound of the cry of thy pilots the suburbs shall shake.

²⁸Aux cris de tes pilotes, Les plages d'alentour trembleront;

²⁸לקול זעקת חבליך ירעשו מגרשות׃

²⁹And all that handled the oar, the mariners, [and] all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships; they shall stand upon the land,

²⁹Et tous ceux qui manient la rame descendront de leurs navires, Les mariniers, tous les pilotes de la mer. Ils se tiendront sur la terre;

²⁹וירדו מאניותיהם כל תפשי משוט מלחים כל חבלי הים אל הארץ יעמדו׃

³⁰and shall cause their voice to be heard over thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:

³⁰Ils feront entendre leurs voix sur toi, Et pousseront des cris amers; Ils jetteront de la poussière sur leurs têtes Et se rouleront dans la cendre;

³⁰והשמיעו עליך בקולם ויזעקו מרה ויעלו עפר על ראשיהם באפר יתפלשו׃

³¹and they shall make themselves bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee in bitterness of soul with bitter mourning.

³¹Ils se raseront la tête à cause de toi, Ils se revêtiront de sacs, Et ils pleureront sur toi dans l'amertume de leur âme, Avec une vive affliction.

³¹והקריחו אליך קרחה וחגרו שקים ובכו אליך במר נפש מספד מר׃

³²And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, [saying], Who is there like Tyre, like her that is brought to silence in the midst of the sea?

³²Dans leur douleur, ils diront une complainte sur toi, Ils se lamenteront sur toi: Qui était comme Tyr, Comme cette ville détruite au milieu de la mer?

³²ונשאו אליך בניהם קינה וקוננו עליך מי כצור כדמה בתוך הים׃

³³When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many peoples; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.

³³Quand tes produits sortaient des mers, Tu rassasiais un grand nombre de peuples; Par l'abondance de tes biens et de tes marchandises, Tu enrichissais les rois de la terre.

³³בצאת עזבוניך מימים השבעת עמים רבים ברב הוניך ומערביך העשרת מלכי ארץ׃

³⁴In the time that thou wast broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, thy merchandise and all thy company did fall in the midst of thee.

³⁴Et quand tu as été brisée par les mers, Quand tu as disparu dans les profondeurs des eaux, Tes marchandises et toute ta multitude Sont tombées avec toi.

³⁴עת נשברת מימים במעמקי מים מערבך וכל קהלך בתוכך נפלו׃

³⁵All the inhabitants of the isles are astonished at thee, and their kings are horribly afraid; they are troubled in their countenance.

³⁵Tous les habitants des îles sont dans la stupeur à cause de toi, Leurs rois sont saisis d'épouvante, Leur visage est bouleversé.

³⁵כל ישבי האיים שממו עליך ומלכיהם שערו שער רעמו פנים׃

³⁶The merchants among the peoples hiss at thee; thou art become a terror, and thou shalt nevermore have any being.

³⁶Les marchands parmi les peuples sifflent sur toi; Tu es réduite au néant, tu ne seras plus à jamais!

³⁶סחרים בעמים שרקו עליך בלהות היית ואינך עד עולם׃
