¹God, having of old time spoken unto the fathers in the prophets by divers portions and in divers manners,

¹Après avoir autrefois, à plusieurs reprises et de plusieurs manières, parlé à nos pères par les prophètes, Dieu,

¹האלהים אשר דבר מקדם פעמים רבות ובפנים שנים אל אבתינו ביד הנביאים דבר אלינו באחרית הימים האלה ביד בנו׃

²hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in [his] Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds;

²dans ces derniers temps, nous a parlé par le Fils, qu'il a établi héritier de toutes choses, par lequel il a aussi créé le monde,

²אשר נתנו ליורש כל וגם עשה בידו את העולמות׃

³who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

³et qui, étant le reflet de sa gloire et l'empreinte de sa personne, et soutenant toutes choses par sa parole puissante, a fait la purification des péchés et s'est assis à la droite de la majesté divine dans les lieux très hauts,

³והוא זהר כבודו וצלם ישותו ונושא כל בדבר גבורתו ואחרי עשתו בנפשו טהרת חטאתינו ישב לימין הגדלה במרומים׃

⁴having become by so much better than the angels, as he hath inherited a more excellent name than they.

⁴devenu d'autant supérieur aux anges qu'il a hérité d'un nom plus excellent que le leur.

⁴ויגדל מאד מן המלאכים כאשר השם אשר נחלו יקר הוא משלהם׃

⁵For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, This day have I begotten thee? and again, I will be to him a Father, And he shall be to me a Son?

⁵Car auquel des anges Dieu a-t-il jamais dit: Tu es mon Fils, Je t'ai engendré aujourd'hui? Et encore: Je serai pour lui un père, et il sera pour moi un fils?

⁵כי אל מי מן המלאכים אמר מעולם בני אתה אני היום ילדתיך ועוד אני אהיה לו לאב והוא יהיה לי לבן׃

⁶And when he again bringeth in the firstborn into the world he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

⁶Et lorsqu'il introduit de nouveau dans le monde le premier-né, il dit: Que tous les anges de Dieu l'adorent!

⁶ובהביאו את הבכור שנית לעולם אמר והשתחוו לו כל מלאכים אלהים׃

⁷And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels winds, And his ministers a flame a fire:

⁷De plus, il dit des anges: Celui qui fait de ses anges des vents, Et de ses serviteurs une flamme de feu.

⁷הן על המלאכים הוא אמר עשה מלאכיו רוחות משרתיו אש להט׃

⁸but of the Son [he saith,] Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

⁸Mais il a dit au Fils: Ton trône, ô Dieu, est éternel; Le sceptre de ton règne est un sceptre d'équité;

⁸אך על הבן אמר כסאך אלהים עולם ועד שבט מישר שבט מלכותך׃

⁹Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

⁹Tu as aimé la justice, et tu as haï l'iniquité; C'est pourquoi, ô Dieu, ton Dieu t'a oint D'une huile de joie au-dessus de tes égaux.

⁹אהבת צדק ותשנא רשע על כן משחך אלהים אלהיך שמן ששון מחבריך׃

¹⁰And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of thy hands:

¹⁰Et encore: Toi, Seigneur, tu as au commencement fondé la terre, Et les cieux sont l'ouvrage de tes mains;

¹⁰ועוד אתה אדני לפנים הארץ יסדת ומעשה ידיך שמים׃

¹¹They shall perish; but thou continuest: And they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

¹¹Ils périront, mais tu subsistes; Ils vieilliront tous comme un vêtement,

¹¹המה יאבדו ואתה תעמד וכלם כבגד יבלו׃

¹²And as a mantle shalt thou roll them up, As a garment, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, And thy years shall not fail.

¹²Tu les rouleras comme un manteau et ils seront changés; Mais toi, tu restes le même, Et tes années ne finiront point.

¹²כלבוש תחליפם ויחלפו ואתה הוא ושנותיך לא יתמו׃

¹³But of which of the angels hath he said at any time, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet?

¹³Et auquel des anges a-t-il jamais dit: Assieds-toi à ma droite, jusqu'à ce que je fasse de tes ennemis ton marchepied?

¹³ואל מי מן המלאכים אמר מעולם שב לימיני עד אשית איביך הדם לרגליך׃

¹⁴Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?

¹⁴Ne sont-ils pas tous des esprits au service de Dieu, envoyés pour exercer un ministère en faveur de ceux qui doivent hériter du salut?

¹⁴הלא הם כלם רוחות השרת שלוחים לעזרה בעד העתידים לרשת את הישועה׃
