¹Now in the things which we are saying the chief point [is this]: We have such a high priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

¹Le point capital de ce qui vient d'être dit, c'est que nous avons un tel souverain sacrificateur, qui s'est assis à la droite du trône de la majesté divine dans les cieux,

¹וזה ראש הנאמרים כי יש לנו כהן גדול היושב לימין כסא הגבורה בשמים׃

²a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.

²comme ministre du sanctuaire et du véritable tabernacle, qui a été dressé par le Seigneur et non par un homme.

²והוא משרת הקדש והמשכן האמתי אשר כוננו אדני ולא אדם׃

³For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is necessary that this [high priest] also have somewhat to offer.

³Tout souverain sacrificateur est établi pour présenter des offrandes et des sacrifices; d'où il est nécessaire que celui-ci ait aussi quelque chose à présenter.

³כי כל כהן גדול הוא מפקד להקריב מנחות וזבחים ועל כן צריך שיהיה גם לזה דבר להקריב׃

⁴Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, seeing there are those who offer the gifts according to the law;

⁴S'il était sur la terre, il ne serait pas même sacrificateur, puisque là sont ceux qui présentent les offrandes selon la loi

⁴והנה אלו היה בארץ לא היה כהן כי יש פה הכהנים המקריבים הקרבנות לפי התורה׃

⁵who serve [that which is] a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses is warned [of God] when he is about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern that was showed thee in the mount.

⁵lesquels célèbrent un culte, image et ombre des choses célestes, selon que Moïse en fut divinement averti lorsqu'il allait construire le tabernacle: Aie soin, lui fut-il dit, de faire tout d'après le modèle qui t'a été montré sur la montagne.

⁵ומכהנים לדמות וצל הדברים שבשמים כדבר יהוה אל משה בבאו לכלות את המשכן כי אמר אליו ראה ועשה הכל בתבניתו אשר אתה מראה בהר׃

⁶But now hath he obtained a ministry the more excellent, by so much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which hath been enacted upon better promises.

⁶Mais maintenant il a obtenu un ministère d'autant supérieur qu'il est le médiateur d'une alliance plus excellente, qui a été établie sur de meilleures promesses.

⁶ועתה הוא קבל שרות מעלה כפי מעלת הברית הנעשה על ידו אשר הוקמה על הבטחות טבות ויתרות׃

⁷For if that first [covenant] had been faultless, then would no place have been sought for a second.

⁷En effet, si la première alliance avait été sans défaut, il n'aurait pas été question de la remplacer par une seconde.

⁷כי אלו היתה הראשונה ההיא תמימה לא יבקש מקום לשניה׃

⁸For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, That I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;

⁸Car c'est avec l'expression d'un blâme que le Seigneur dit à Israël: Voici, les jours viennent, dit le Seigneur, Où je ferai avec la maison d'Israël et la maison de Juda Une alliance nouvelle,

⁸כי כה אמר בהוכיח אתם הנה ימים באים נאם יהוה וכרתי את בית ישראל ואת בית יהודה ברית חדשה׃

⁹Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers In the day that I took them by the hand to lead them forth out of the land of Egypt; For they continued not in my covenant, And I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

⁹Non comme l'alliance que je traitai avec leurs pères, Le jour où je les saisis par la main Pour les faire sortir du pays d'Egypte; Car ils n'ont pas persévéré dans mon alliance, Et moi aussi je ne me suis pas soucié d'eux, dit le Seigneur.

⁹לא כברית אשר כרתי את אבותם ביום החזיקי בידם להוציאם מארץ מצרים אשר המה הפרו את בריתי ואנכי בחלתי בם נאם יהוה׃

¹⁰For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel After those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, And on their heart also will I write them: And I will be to them a God, And they shall be to me a people:

¹⁰Mais voici l'alliance que je ferai avec la maison d'Israël, Après ces jours-là, dit le Seigneur: Je mettrai mes lois dans leur esprit, Je les écrirai dans leur coeur; Et je serai leur Dieu, Et ils seront mon peuple.

¹⁰כי זאת הברית אשר אכרת את בית ישראל אחרי הימים ההם נאם יהוה נתתי את תורתי בקרבם ועל לבם אכתבנה והייתי להם לאלהים והמה יהיו לי לעם׃

¹¹And they shall not teach every man his fellow-citizen, And every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: For all shall know me, From the least to the greatest of them.

¹¹Aucun n'enseignera plus son concitoyen, Ni aucun son frère, en disant: Connais le Seigneur! Car tous me connaîtront, Depuis le plus petit jusqu'au plus grand d'entre eux;

¹¹ולא ילמדו עוד איש את רעהו ואיש את אחיו לאמר דעו את יהוה כי כולם ידעו אותי למקטנם ועד גדולם׃

¹²For I will be merciful to their iniquities, And their sins will I remember no more.

¹²Parce que je pardonnerai leurs iniquités, Et que je ne me souviendrai plus de leurs péchés.

¹²כי אסלח לעונם ולחטאתם ולפשעיהם לא אזכר עוד׃

¹³In that he saith, A new [covenant] he hath made the first old. But that which is becoming old and waxeth aged is nigh unto vanishing away.

¹³En disant: une alliance nouvelle, il a déclaré la première ancienne; or, ce qui est ancien, ce qui a vieilli, est près de disparaître.

¹³הנה באמרו ברית חדשה ישן את הראשונה ומה שהוא נושן ומזקין קרוב הוא אל קצו׃
