1When I would heal Israel, then is the iniquity of Ephraim uncovered, and the wickedness of Samaria; for they commit falsehood, and the thief entereth in, and the troop of robbers ravageth without.
1Lorsque je voulais guérir Israël, L'iniquité d'Ephraïm et la méchanceté de Samarie se sont révélées, Car ils ont agi frauduleusement; Le voleur est arrivé, la bande s'est répandue au dehors.
1כרפאי לישראל ונגלה עון אפרים ורעות שמרון כי פעלו שקר וגנב יבוא פשט גדוד בחוץ׃
2And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now have their own doings beset them about; they are before my face.
2Ils ne se disent pas dans leur coeur Que je me souviens de toute leur méchanceté; Maintenant leurs oeuvres les entourent, Elles sont devant ma face.
2ובל יאמרו ללבבם כל רעתם זכרתי עתה סבבום מעלליהם נגד פני היו׃
3They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
3Ils réjouissent le roi par leur méchanceté, Et les chefs par leurs mensonges.
3ברעתם ישמחו מלך ובכחשיהם שרים׃
4They are all adulterers; they are as an oven heated by the baker; he ceaseth to stir [the fire], from the kneading of the dough, until it be leavened.
4Ils sont tous adultères, Semblables à un four chauffé par le boulanger: Il cesse d'attiser le feu Depuis qu'il a pétri la pâte jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit levée.
4כלם מנאפים כמו תנור בערה מאפה ישבות מעיר מלוש בצק עד חמצתו׃
5On the day of our king the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine; he stretched out his hand with scoffers.
5Au jour de notre roi, Les chefs se rendent malades par les excès du vin; Le roi tend la main aux moqueurs.
5יום מלכנו החלו שרים חמת מיין משך ידו את לצצים׃
6For they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.
6Ils appliquent aux embûches leur coeur pareil à un four; Toute la nuit dort leur boulanger, Et au matin le four brûle comme un feu embrasé.
6כי קרבו כתנור לבם בארבם כל הלילה ישן אפהם בקר הוא בער כאש להבה׃
7They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.
7Ils sont tous ardents comme un four, Et ils dévorent leurs juges; Tous leurs rois tombent: Aucun d'eux ne m'invoque.
7כלם יחמו כתנור ואכלו את שפטיהם כל מלכיהם נפלו אין קרא בהם אלי׃
8Ephraim, he mixeth himself among the peoples; Ephraim is a cake not turned.
8Ephraïm se mêle avec les peuples, Ephraïm est un gâteau qui n'a pas été retourné.
8אפרים בעמים הוא יתבולל אפרים היה עגה בלי הפוכה׃
9Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth [it] not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, and he knoweth [it] not.
9Des étrangers consument sa force, Et il ne s'en doute pas; La vieillesse s'empare de lui, Et il ne s'en doute pas.
9אכלו זרים כחו והוא לא ידע גם שיבה זרקה בו והוא לא ידע׃
10And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: yet they have not returned unto Jehovah their God, nor sought him, for all this.
10L'orgueil d'Israël témoigne contre lui; Ils ne reviennent pas à l'Eternel, leur Dieu, Et ils ne le cherchent pas, malgré tout cela.
10וענה גאון ישראל בפניו ולא שבו אל יהוה אלהיהם ולא בקשהו בכל זאת׃
11And Ephraim is like a silly dove, without understanding: they call unto Egypt, they go to Assyria.
11Ephraïm est comme une colombe stupide, sans intelligence; Ils implorent l'Egypte, ils vont en Assyrie.
11ויהי אפרים כיונה פותה אין לב מצרים קראו אשור הלכו׃
12When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the birds of the heavens; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.
12S'ils partent, j'étendrai sur eux mon filet, Je les précipiterai comme les oiseaux du ciel; Je les châtierai, comme ils en ont été avertis dans leur assemblée.
12כאשר ילכו אפרוש עליהם רשתי כעוף השמים אורידם איסרם כשמע לעדתם׃
13Woe unto them! for they have wandered from me; destruction unto them! for they have trespassed against me: though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
13Malheur à eux, parce qu'ils me fuient! Ruine sur eux, parce qu'ils me sont infidèles! Je voudrais les sauver, Mais ils disent contre moi des paroles mensongères.
13אוי להם כי נדדו ממני שד להם כי פשעו בי ואנכי אפדם והמה דברו עלי כזבים׃
14And they have not cried unto me with their heart, but they howl upon their beds: they assemble themselves for grain and new wine; they rebel against me.
14Ils ne crient pas vers moi dans leur coeur, Mais ils se lamentent sur leur couche; Ils se rassemblent pour avoir du blé et du moût, Et ils s'éloignent de moi.
14ולא זעקו אלי בלבם כי יילילו על משכבותם על דגן ותירוש יתגוררו יסורו בי׃
15Though I have taught and strengthened their arms, yet do they devise mischief against me.
15Je les ai châtiés, j'ai fortifié leurs bras; Et ils méditent le mal contre moi.
15ואני יסרתי חזקתי זרועתם ואלי יחשבו רע׃
16They return, but not to [him that is] on high; they are like a deceitful bow; their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
16Ce n'est pas au Très-Haut qu'ils retournent; Ils sont comme un arc trompeur. Leurs chefs tomberont par l'épée, A cause de l'insolence de leur langue. C'est ce qui les rendra un objet de risée dans le pays d'Egypte.
16ישובו לא על היו כקשת רמיה יפלו בחרב שריהם מזעם לשונם זו לעגם בארץ מצרים׃
