¹Woe unto the shepherds that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith Jehovah.

¹Malheur aux pasteurs qui détruisent et dispersent Le troupeau de mon pâturage! dit l'Eternel.

¹הוי רעים מאבדים ומפצים את צאן מרעיתי נאם יהוה׃

²Therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, against the shepherds that feed my people: Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them; behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith Jehovah.

²C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël, Sur les pasteurs qui paissent mon peuple: Vous avez dispersé mes brebis, vous les avez chassées, Vous n'en avez pas pris soin; Voici, je vous châtierai à cause de la méchanceté de vos actions, Dit l'Eternel.

²לכן כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל על הרעים הרעים את עמי אתם הפצתם את צאני ותדחום ולא פקדתם אתם הנני פקד עליכם את רע מעלליכם נאם יהוה׃

³And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and multiply.

³Et je rassemblerai le reste de mes brebis De tous les pays où je les ai chassées; Je les ramènerai dans leur pâturage; Elles seront fécondes et multiplieront.

³ואני אקבץ את שארית צאני מכל הארצות אשר הדחתי אתם שם והשבתי אתהן על נוהן ופרו ורבו׃

⁴And I will set up shepherds over them, who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be lacking, saith Jehovah.

⁴J'établirai sur elles des pasteurs qui les paîtront; Elles n'auront plus de crainte, plus de terreur, Et il n'en manquera aucune, dit l'Eternel.

⁴והקמתי עליהם רעים ורעום ולא ייראו עוד ולא יחתו ולא יפקדו נאם יהוה׃

⁵Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

⁵Voici, les jours viennent, dit l'Eternel, Où je susciterai à David un germe juste; Il régnera en roi et prospérera, Il pratiquera la justice et l'équité dans le pays.

⁵הנה ימים באים נאם יהוה והקמתי לדוד צמח צדיק ומלך מלך והשכיל ועשה משפט וצדקה בארץ׃

⁶In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness.

⁶En son temps, Juda sera sauvé, Israël aura la sécurité dans sa demeure; Et voici le nom dont on l'appellera: L'Eternel notre justice.

⁶בימיו תושע יהודה וישראל ישכן לבטח וזה שמו אשר יקראו יהוה צדקנו׃

⁷Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that they shall no more say, As Jehovah liveth, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

⁷C'est pourquoi voici, les jours viennent, dit l'Eternel, Où l'on ne dira plus: L'Eternel est vivant, Lui qui a fait monter du pays d'Egypte les enfants d'Israël!

⁷לכן הנה ימים באים נאם יהוה ולא יאמרו עוד חי יהוה אשר העלה את בני ישראל מארץ מצרים׃

⁸but, As Jehovah liveth, who brought up and who led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries whither I had driven them. And they shall dwell in their own land.

⁸Mais on dira: L'Eternel est vivant, Lui qui a fait monter et qui a ramené La postérité de la maison d'Israël du pays du septentrion Et de tous les pays où je les avais chassés! Et ils habiteront dans leur pays.

⁸כי אם חי יהוה אשר העלה ואשר הביא את זרע בית ישראל מארץ צפונה ומכל הארצות אשר הדחתים שם וישבו על אדמתם׃

⁹Concerning the prophets. My heart within me is broken, all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of Jehovah, and because of his holy words.

⁹Sur les prophètes. Mon coeur est brisé au dedans de moi, Tous mes os tremblent; Je suis comme un homme ivre, Comme un homme pris de vin, A cause de l'Eternel et à cause de ses paroles saintes.

⁹לנבאים נשבר לבי בקרבי רחפו כל עצמותי הייתי כאיש שכור וכגבר עברו יין מפני יהוה ומפני דברי קדשו׃

¹⁰For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. And their course is evil, and their might is not right;

¹⁰Car le pays est rempli d'adultères; Le pays est en deuil à cause de la malédiction; Les plaines du désert sont desséchées. Ils courent au mal, Ils n'ont de la force que pour l'iniquité.

¹⁰כי מנאפים מלאה הארץ כי מפני אלה אבלה הארץ יבשו נאות מדבר ותהי מרוצתם רעה וגבורתם לא כן׃

¹¹for both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith Jehovah.

¹¹Prophètes et sacrificateurs sont corrompus; Même dans ma maison j'ai trouvé leur méchanceté, Dit l'Eternel.

¹¹כי גם נביא גם כהן חנפו גם בביתי מצאתי רעתם נאם יהוה׃

¹²Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery places in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith Jehovah.

¹²C'est pourquoi leur chemin sera glissant et ténébreux, Ils seront poussés et ils tomberont; Car je ferai venir sur eux le malheur, L'année où je les châtierai, dit l'Eternel.

¹²לכן יהיה דרכם להם כחלקלקות באפלה ידחו ונפלו בה כי אביא עליהם רעה שנת פקדתם נאם יהוה׃

¹³And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

¹³Dans les prophètes de Samarie j'ai vu de l'extravagance; Ils ont prophétisé par Baal, Ils ont égaré mon peuple d'Israël.

¹³ובנביאי שמרון ראיתי תפלה הנבאו בבעל ויתעו את עמי את ישראל׃

¹⁴In the prophets of Jerusalem also I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies; and they strengthen the hands of evil-doers, so that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them become unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

¹⁴Mais dans les prophètes de Jérusalem j'ai vu des choses horribles; Ils sont adultères, ils marchent dans le mensonge; Ils fortifient les mains des méchants, Afin qu'aucun ne revienne de sa méchanceté; Ils sont tous à mes yeux comme Sodome, Et les habitants de Jérusalem comme Gomorrhe.

¹⁴ובנבאי ירושלם ראיתי שערורה נאוף והלך בשקר וחזקו ידי מרעים לבלתי שבו איש מרעתו היו לי כלם כסדם וישביה כעמרה׃

¹⁵Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall; for from the prophets of Jerusalem is ungodliness gone forth into all the land.

¹⁵C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées sur les prophètes: Voici, je vais les nourrir d'absinthe, Et je leur ferai boire des eaux empoisonnées; Car c'est par les prophètes de Jérusalem Que l'impiété s'est répandue dans tout le pays.

¹⁵לכן כה אמר יהוה צבאות על הנבאים הנני מאכיל אותם לענה והשקתים מי ראש כי מאת נביאי ירושלם יצאה חנפה לכל הארץ׃

¹⁶Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they teach you vanity; they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Jehovah.

¹⁶Ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées: N'écoutez pas les paroles des prophètes qui vous prophétisent! Ils vous entraînent à des choses de néant; Ils disent les visions de leur coeur, Et non ce qui vient de la bouche de l'Eternel.

¹⁶כה אמר יהוה צבאות אל תשמעו על דברי הנבאים הנבאים לכם מהבלים המה אתכם חזון לבם ידברו לא מפי יהוה׃

¹⁷They say continually unto them that despise me, Jehovah hath said, Ye shall have peace; and unto every one that walketh in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, No evil shall come upon you.

¹⁷Ils disent à ceux qui me méprisent: L'Eternel a dit: Vous aurez la paix; Et ils disent à tous ceux qui suivent les penchants de leur coeur: Il ne vous arrivera aucun mal.

¹⁷אמרים אמור למנאצי דבר יהוה שלום יהיה לכם וכל הלך בשררות לבו אמרו לא תבוא עליכם רעה׃

¹⁸For who hath stood in the council of Jehovah, that he should perceive and hear his word? who hath marked my word, and heard it?

¹⁸Qui donc a assisté au conseil de l'Eternel Pour voir, pour écouter sa parole? Qui a prêté l'oreille à sa parole, qui l'a entendue?

¹⁸כי מי עמד בסוד יהוה וירא וישמע את דברו מי הקשיב דברי וישמע׃

¹⁹Behold, the tempest of Jehovah, [even his] wrath, is gone forth, yea, a whirling tempest: it shall burst upon the head of the wicked.

¹⁹Voici, la tempête de l'Eternel, la fureur éclate, L'orage se précipite, Il fond sur la tête des méchants.

¹⁹הנה סערת יהוה חמה יצאה וסער מתחולל על ראש רשעים יחול׃

²⁰The anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall understand it perfectly.

²⁰La colère de l'Eternel ne se calmera pas, Jusqu'à ce qu'il ait accompli, exécuté les desseins de son coeur. Vous le comprendrez dans la suite des temps.

²⁰לא ישוב אף יהוה עד עשתו ועד הקימו מזמות לבו באחרית הימים תתבוננו בה בינה׃

²¹I sent not these prophets, yet they ran: I spake not unto them, yet they prophesied.

²¹Je n'ai point envoyé ces prophètes, et ils ont couru; Je ne leur ai point parlé, et ils ont prophétisé.

²¹לא שלחתי את הנבאים והם רצו לא דברתי אליהם והם נבאו׃

²²But if they had stood in my council, then had they caused my people to hear my words, and had turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

²²S'ils avaient assisté à mon conseil, Ils auraient dû faire entendre mes paroles à mon peuple, Et les faire revenir de leur mauvaise voie, De la méchanceté de leurs actions.

²²ואם עמדו בסודי וישמעו דברי את עמי וישבום מדרכם הרע ומרע מעלליהם׃

²³Am I a God at hand, saith Jehovah, and not a God afar off?

²³Ne suis-je un Dieu que de près, dit l'Eternel, Et ne suis-je pas aussi un Dieu de loin?

²³האלהי מקרב אני נאם יהוה ולא אלהי מרחק׃

²⁴Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? saith Jehovah. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith Jehovah.

²⁴Quelqu'un se tiendra-t-il dans un lieu caché, Sans que je le voie? dit l'Eternel. Ne remplis-je pas, moi, les cieux et la terre? dit l'Eternel.

²⁴אם יסתר איש במסתרים ואני לא אראנו נאם יהוה הלוא את השמים ואת הארץ אני מלא נאם יהוה׃

²⁵I have heard what the prophets have said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.

²⁵J'ai entendu ce que disent les prophètes Qui prophétisent en mon nom le mensonge, disant: J'ai eu un songe! j'ai eu un songe!

²⁵שמעתי את אשר אמרו הנבאים הנבאים בשמי שקר לאמר חלמתי חלמתי׃

²⁶How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?

²⁶Jusques à quand ces prophètes veulent-ils prophétiser le mensonge, Prophétiser la tromperie de leur coeur?

²⁶עד מתי היש בלב הנבאים נבאי השקר ונביאי תרמת לבם׃

²⁷that think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgat my name for Baal.

²⁷Ils pensent faire oublier mon nom à mon peuple Par les songes que chacun d'eux raconte à son prochain, Comme leurs pères ont oublié mon nom pour Baal.

²⁷החשבים להשכיח את עמי שמי בחלומתם אשר יספרו איש לרעהו כאשר שכחו אבותם את שמי בבעל׃

²⁸The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat? saith Jehovah.

²⁸Que le prophète qui a eu un songe raconte ce songe, Et que celui qui a entendu ma parole rapporte fidèlement ma parole. Pourquoi mêler la paille au froment? dit l'Eternel.

²⁸הנביא אשר אתו חלום יספר חלום ואשר דברי אתו ידבר דברי אמת מה לתבן את הבר נאם יהוה׃

²⁹Is not my word like fire? saith Jehovah; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

²⁹Ma parole n'est-elle pas comme un feu, dit l'Eternel, Et comme un marteau qui brise le roc?

²⁹הלוא כה דברי כאש נאם יהוה וכפטיש יפצץ סלע׃

³⁰Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, that steal my words every one from his neighbor.

³⁰C'est pourquoi voici, dit l'Eternel, j'en veux aux prophètes Qui se dérobent mes paroles l'un à l'autre.

³⁰לכן הנני על הנבאים נאם יהוה מגנבי דברי איש מאת רעהו׃

³¹Behold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.

³¹Voici, dit l'Eternel, j'en veux aux prophètes Qui prennent leur propre parole et la donnent pour ma parole.

³¹הנני על הנביאם נאם יהוה הלקחים לשונם וינאמו נאם׃

³²Behold, I am against them that prophesy lying dreams, saith Jehovah, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting: yet I sent them not, nor commanded them; neither do they profit this people at all, saith Jehovah.

³²Voici, dit l'Eternel, j'en veux à ceux qui prophétisent des songes faux, Qui les racontent, et qui égarent mon peuple Par leurs mensonges et par leur témérité; Je ne les ai point envoyés, je ne leur ai point donné d'ordre, Et ils ne sont d'aucune utilité à ce peuple, dit l'Eternel.

³²הנני על נבאי חלמות שקר נאם יהוה ויספרום ויתעו את עמי בשקריהם ובפחזותם ואנכי לא שלחתים ולא צויתים והועיל לא יועילו לעם הזה נאם יהוה׃

³³And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of Jehovah? then shalt thou say unto them, What burden! I will cast you off, saith Jehovah.

³³Si ce peuple, ou un prophète, ou un sacrificateur te demande: Quelle est la menace de l'Eternel? Tu leur diras quelle est cette menace: Je vous rejetterai, dit l'Eternel.

³³וכי ישאלך העם הזה או הנביא או כהן לאמר מה משא יהוה ואמרת אליהם את מה משא ונטשתי אתכם נאם יהוה׃

³⁴And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of Jehovah, I will even punish that man and his house.

³⁴Et le prophète, le sacrificateur, ou celui du peuple Qui dira: Menace de l'Eternel, Je le châtierai, lui et sa maison.

³⁴והנביא והכהן והעם אשר יאמר משא יהוה ופקדתי על האיש ההוא ועל ביתו׃

³⁵Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbor, and every one to his brother, What hath Jehovah answered? and, What hath Jehovah spoken?

³⁵Vous direz, chacun à son prochain, chacun à son frère: Qu'a répondu l'Eternel? Qu'a dit l'Eternel?

³⁵כה תאמרו איש על רעהו ואיש אל אחיו מה ענה יהוה ומה דבר יהוה׃

³⁶And the burden of Jehovah shall ye mention no more: for every man's own word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of Jehovah of hosts our God.

³⁶Mais vous ne direz plus: Menace de l'Eternel! Car la parole de chacun sera pour lui une menace; Vous tordez les paroles du Dieu vivant, De l'Eternel des armées, notre Dieu.

³⁶ומשא יהוה לא תזכרו עוד כי המשא יהיה לאיש דברו והפכתם את דברי אלהים חיים יהוה צבאות אלהינו׃

³⁷Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath Jehovah answered thee? and, What hath Jehovah spoken?

³⁷Tu diras au prophète: Que t'a répondu l'Eternel? Qu'a dit l'Eternel?

³⁷כה תאמר אל הנביא מה ענך יהוה ומה דבר יהוה׃

³⁸But if ye say, The burden of Jehovah; therefore thus saith Jehovah: Because ye say this word, The burden of Jehovah, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of Jehovah;

³⁸Et si vous dites encore: Menace de l'Eternel! Alors ainsi parle l'Eternel: Parce que vous dites ce mot: Menace de l'Eternel! Quoique j'aie envoyé vers vous pour dire: Vous ne direz pas: Menace de l'Eternel!

³⁸ואם משא יהוה תאמרו לכן כה אמר יהוה יען אמרכם את הדבר הזה משא יהוה ואשלח אליכם לאמר לא תאמרו משא יהוה׃

³⁹therefore, behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off, and the city that I gave unto you and to your fathers, away from my presence:

³⁹A cause de cela voici, je vous oublierai, Et je vous rejetterai, vous et la ville Que j'avais donnée à vous et à vos pères, Je vous rejetterai loin de ma face;

³⁹לכן הנני ונשיתי אתכם נשא ונטשתי אתכם ואת העיר אשר נתתי לכם ולאבותיכם מעל פני׃

⁴⁰and I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.

⁴⁰Je mettrai sur vous un opprobre éternel Et une honte éternelle, Qui ne s'oublieront pas.

⁴⁰ונתתי עליכם חרפת עולם וכלמות עולם אשר לא תשכח׃
