¹And it came to pass the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet, who was of Gibeon, spake unto me in the house of Jehovah, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,

¹Dans la même année, au commencement du règne de Sédécias, roi de Juda, le cinquième mois de la quatrième année, Hanania, fils d'Azzur, prophète, de Gabaon, me dit dans la maison de l'Eternel, en présence des sacrificateurs et de tout le peuple:

¹ויהי בשנה ההיא בראשית ממלכת צדקיה מלך יהודה בשנת הרבעית בחדש החמישי אמר אלי חנניה בן עזור הנביא אשר מגבעון בבית יהוה לעיני הכהנים וכל העם לאמר׃

²Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.

²Ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: Je brise le joug du roi de Babylone!

²כה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל לאמר שברתי את על מלך בבל׃

³Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of Jehovah's house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried to Babylon:

³Encore deux années, et je fais revenir dans ce lieu tous les ustensiles de la maison de l'Eternel, que Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, a enlevés de ce lieu, et qu'il a emportés à Babylone.

³בעוד שנתים ימים אני משיב אל המקום הזה את כל כלי בית יהוה אשר לקח נבוכדנאצר מלך בבל מן המקום הזה ויביאם בבל׃

⁴and I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, that went to Babylon, saith Jehovah; for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.

⁴Et je ferai revenir dans ce lieu, dit l'Eternel, Jeconia, fils de Jojakim, roi de Juda, et tous les captifs de Juda, qui sont allés à Babylone; car je briserai le joug du roi de Babylone.

⁴ואת יכניה בן יהויקים מלך יהודה ואת כל גלות יהודה הבאים בבלה אני משיב אל המקום הזה נאם יהוה כי אשבר את על מלך בבל׃

⁵Then the prophet Jeremiah said unto the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people that stood in the house of Jehovah,

⁵Jérémie, le prophète, répondit à Hanania, le prophète, en présence des sacrificateurs et de tout le peuple qui se tenaient dans la maison de l'Eternel.

⁵ויאמר ירמיה הנביא אל חנניה הנביא לעיני הכהנים ולעיני כל העם העמדים בבית יהוה׃

⁶even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen: Jehovah do so; Jehovah perform thy words which thou hast prophesied, to bring again the vessels of Jehovah's house, and all them of the captivity, from Babylon unto this place.

⁶Jérémie, le prophète, dit: Amen! que l'Eternel fasse ainsi! que l'Eternel accomplisse les paroles que tu as prophétisées, et qu'il fasse revenir de Babylone en ce lieu les ustensiles de la maison de l'Eternel et tous les captifs!

⁶ויאמר ירמיה הנביא אמן כן יעשה יהוה יקם יהוה את דבריך אשר נבאת להשיב כלי בית יהוה וכל הגולה מבבל אל המקום הזה׃

⁷Nevertheless hear thou now this word that I speak in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people:

⁷Seulement écoute cette parole que je prononce à tes oreilles et aux oreilles de tout le peuple:

⁷אך שמע נא הדבר הזה אשר אנכי דבר באזניך ובאזני כל העם׃

⁸The prophets that have been before me and before thee of old prophesied against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence.

⁸Les prophètes qui ont paru avant moi et avant toi, dès les temps anciens, ont prophétisé contre des pays puissants et de grands royaumes la guerre, le malheur et la peste;

⁸הנביאים אשר היו לפני ולפניך מן העולם וינבאו אל ארצות רבות ועל ממלכות גדלות למלחמה ולרעה ולדבר׃

⁹The prophet that prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that Jehovah hath truly sent him.

⁹mais si un prophète prophétise la paix, c'est par l'accomplissement de ce qu'il prophétise qu'il sera reconnu comme véritablement envoyé par l'Eternel.

⁹הנביא אשר ינבא לשלום בבא דבר הנביא יודע הנביא אשר שלחו יהוה באמת׃

¹⁰Then Hananiah the prophet took the bar from off the prophet Jeremiah's neck, and brake it.

¹⁰Alors Hanania, le prophète, enleva le joug de dessus le cou de Jérémie, le prophète, et il le brisa.

¹⁰ויקח חנניה הנביא את המוטה מעל צואר ירמיה הנביא וישברהו׃

¹¹And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith Jehovah: Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon within two full years from off the neck of all the nations. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.

¹¹Et Hanania dit en présence de tout le peuple: Ainsi parle l'Eternel: C'est ainsi que, dans deux années, je briserai de dessus le cou de toutes les nations le joug de Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone. Et Jérémie, le prophète, s'en alla.

¹¹ויאמר חנניה לעיני כל העם לאמר כה אמר יהוה ככה אשבר את על נבכדנאצר מלך בבל בעוד שנתים ימים מעל צואר כל הגוים וילך ירמיה הנביא לדרכו׃

¹²Then the word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the bar from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

¹²Après que Hanania, le prophète, eut brisé le joug de dessus le cou de Jérémie, le prophète, la parole de l'Eternel fut adressée à Jérémie, en ces mots:

¹²ויהי דבר יהוה אל ירמיה אחרי שבור חנניה הנביא את המוטה מעל צואר ירמיה הנביא לאמר׃

¹³Go, and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah: Thou hast broken the bars of wood; but thou hast made in their stead bars of iron.

¹³Va, et dis à Hanania: Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Tu as brisé un joug de bois, et tu auras à sa place un joug de fer.

¹³הלוך ואמרת אל חנניה לאמר כה אמר יהוה מוטת עץ שברת ועשית תחתיהן מטות ברזל׃

¹⁴For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may served Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the beasts of the field also.

¹⁴Car ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: Je mets un joug de fer sur le cou de toutes ces nations, pour qu'elles soient asservies à Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, et elles lui seront asservies; je lui donne aussi les animaux des champs.

¹⁴כי כה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל על ברזל נתתי על צואר כל הגוים האלה לעבד את נבכדנאצר מלך בבל ועבדהו וגם את חית השדה נתתי לו׃

¹⁵Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah: Jehovah hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.

¹⁵Et Jérémie, le prophète, dit à Hanania, le prophète: Ecoute, Hanania! L'Eternel ne t'a point envoyé, et tu inspires à ce peuple une fausse confiance.

¹⁵ויאמר ירמיה הנביא אל חנניה הנביא שמע נא חנניה לא שלחך יהוה ואתה הבטחת את העם הזה על שקר׃

¹⁶Therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will send thee away from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast spoken rebellion against Jehovah.

¹⁶C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Eternel: Voici, je te chasse de la terre; tu mourras cette année; car tes paroles sont une révolte contre l'Eternel.

¹⁶לכן כה אמר יהוה הנני משלחך מעל פני האדמה השנה אתה מת כי סרה דברת אל יהוה׃

¹⁷So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.

¹⁷Et Hanania, le prophète, mourut cette année-là, dans le septième mois.

¹⁷וימת חנניה הנביא בשנה ההיא בחדש השביעי׃
