¹The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,

¹La parole qui fut adressée à Jérémie de la part de l'Eternel, en ces mots:

¹הדבר אשר היה אל ירמיהו מאת יהוה לאמר׃

²Thus speaketh Jehovah, the God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

²Ainsi parle l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël: Ecris dans un livre toutes les paroles que je t'ai dites.

²כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל לאמר כתב לך את כל הדברים אשר דברתי אליך אל ספר׃

³For, lo, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will turn again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith Jehovah; and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

³Voici, les jours viennent, dit l'Eternel, où je ramènerai les captifs de mon peuple d'Israël et de Juda, dit l'Eternel; je les ramènerai dans le pays que j'ai donné à leurs pères, et ils le posséderont.

³כי הנה ימים באים נאם יהוה ושבתי את שבות עמי ישראל ויהודה אמר יהוה והשבתים אל הארץ אשר נתתי לאבותם וירשוה׃

⁴And these are the words that Jehovah spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.

⁴Ce sont ici les paroles que l'Eternel a prononcées sur Israël et sur Juda.

⁴ואלה הדברים אשר דבר יהוה אל ישראל ואל יהודה׃

⁵For thus saith Jehovah: We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

⁵Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Nous entendons des cris d'effroi; C'est l'épouvante, ce n'est pas la paix.

⁵כי כה אמר יהוה קול חרדה שמענו פחד ואין שלום׃

⁶Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child: wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

⁶Informez-vous, et regardez si un mâle enfante! Pourquoi vois-je tous les hommes les mains sur leurs reins, Comme une femme en travail? Pourquoi tous les visages sont-ils devenus pâles?

⁶שאלו נא וראו אם ילד זכר מדוע ראיתי כל גבר ידיו על חלציו כיולדה ונהפכו כל פנים לירקון׃

⁷Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

⁷Malheur! car ce jour est grand; Il n'y en a point eu de semblable. C'est un temps d'angoisse pour Jacob; Mais il en sera délivré.

⁷הוי כי גדול היום ההוא מאין כמהו ועת צרה היא ליעקב וממנה יושע׃

⁸And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds; and strangers shall no more make him their bondman;

⁸En ce jour-là, dit l'Eternel des armées, Je briserai son joug de dessus ton cou, Je romprai tes liens, Et des étrangers ne t'assujettiront plus.

⁸והיה ביום ההוא נאם יהוה צבאות אשבר עלו מעל צוארך ומוסרותיך אנתק ולא יעבדו בו עוד זרים׃

⁹but they shall serve Jehovah their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

⁹Ils serviront l'Eternel, leur Dieu, Et David, leur roi, que je leur susciterai.

⁹ועבדו את יהוה אלהיהם ואת דוד מלכם אשר אקים להם׃

¹⁰Therefore fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith Jehovah; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.

¹⁰Et toi, mon serviteur Jacob, ne crains pas, dit l'Eternel; Ne t'effraie pas, Israël! Car je te délivrerai de la terre lointaine, Je délivrerai ta postérité du pays où elle est captive; Jacob reviendra, il jouira du repos et de la tranquillité, Et il n'y aura personne pour le troubler.

¹⁰ואתה אל תירא עבדי יעקב נאם יהוה ואל תחת ישראל כי הנני מושיעך מרחוק ואת זרעך מארץ שבים ושב יעקב ושקט ושאנן ואין מחריד׃

¹¹For I am with thee, saith Jehovah, to save thee: for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have scattered thee, but I will not make a full end of thee; but I will correct thee in measure, and will in no wise leave thee unpunished.

¹¹Car je suis avec toi, dit l'Eternel, pour te délivrer; J'anéantirai toutes les nations parmi lesquelles je t'ai dispersé, Mais toi, je ne t'anéantirai pas; Je te châtierai avec équité, Je ne puis pas te laisser impuni.

¹¹כי אתך אני נאם יהוה להושיעך כי אעשה כלה בכל הגוים אשר הפצותיך שם אך אתך לא אעשה כלה ויסרתיך למשפט ונקה לא אנקך׃

¹²For thus saith Jehovah, Thy hurt is incurable, and thy wound grievous.

¹²Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Ta blessure est grave, Ta plaie est douloureuse.

¹²כי כה אמר יהוה אנוש לשברך נחלה מכתך׃

¹³There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.

¹³Nul ne défend ta cause, pour bander ta plaie; Tu n'as ni remède, ni moyen de guérison.

¹³אין דן דינך למזור רפאות תעלה אין לך׃

¹⁴All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not: for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of thine iniquity, because thy sins were increased.

¹⁴Tous ceux qui t'aimaient t'oublient, Aucun ne prend souci de toi; Car je t'ai frappée comme frappe un ennemi, Je t'ai châtiée avec violence, A cause de la multitude de tes iniquités, Du grand nombre de tes péchés.

¹⁴כל מאהביך שכחוך אותך לא ידרשו כי מכת אויב הכיתיך מוסר אכזרי על רב עונך עצמו חטאתיך׃

¹⁵Why criest thou for thy hurt? thy pain is incurable: for the greatness of thine iniquity, because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.

¹⁵Pourquoi te plaindre de ta blessure, De la douleur que cause ton mal? C'est à cause de la multitude de tes iniquités, Du grand nombre de tes péchés, Que je t'ai fait souffrir ces choses.

¹⁵מה תזעק על שברך אנוש מכאבך על רב עונך עצמו חטאתיך עשיתי אלה לך׃

¹⁶Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that despoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

¹⁶Cependant, tous ceux qui te dévorent seront dévorés, Et tous tes ennemis, tous, iront en captivité; Ceux qui te dépouillent seront dépouillés, Et j'abandonnerai au pillage tous ceux qui te pillent.

¹⁶לכן כל אכליך יאכלו וכל צריך כלם בשבי ילכו והיו שאסיך למשסה וכל בזזיך אתן לבז׃

¹⁷For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith Jehovah; because they have called thee an outcast, [saying], It is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

¹⁷Mais je te guérirai, je panserai tes plaies, Dit l'Eternel. Car ils t'appellent la repoussée, Cette Sion dont nul ne prend souci.

¹⁷כי אעלה ארכה לך וממכותיך ארפאך נאם יהוה כי נדחה קראו לך ציון היא דרש אין לה׃

¹⁸Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will turn again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have compassion on his dwelling-places; and the city shall be builded upon its own hill, and the palace shall be inhabited after its own manner.

¹⁸Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Voici, je ramène les captifs des tentes de Jacob, J'ai compassion de ses demeures; La ville sera rebâtie sur ses ruines, Le palais sera rétabli comme il était.

¹⁸כה אמר יהוה הנני שב שבות אהלי יעקוב ומשכנתיו ארחם ונבנתה עיר על תלה וארמון על משפטו ישב׃

¹⁹And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

¹⁹Du milieu d'eux s'élèveront des actions de grâces Et des cris de réjouissance; Je les multiplierai, et ils ne diminueront pas; Je les honorerai, et ils ne seront pas méprisés.

¹⁹ויצא מהם תודה וקול משחקים והרבתים ולא ימעטו והכבדתים ולא יצערו׃

²⁰Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me; and I will punish all that oppress them.

²⁰Ses fils seront comme autrefois, Son assemblée subsistera devant moi, Et je châtierai tous ses oppresseurs.

²⁰והיו בניו כקדם ועדתו לפני תכון ופקדתי על כל לחציו׃

²¹And their prince shall be of themselves, and their ruler shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is he that hath had boldness to approach unto me? saith Jehovah.

²¹Son chef sera tiré de son sein, Son dominateur sortira du milieu de lui; Je le ferai approcher, et il viendra vers moi; Car qui oserait de lui-même s'approcher de moi? Dit l'Eternel.

²¹והיה אדירו ממנו ומשלו מקרבו יצא והקרבתיו ונגש אלי כי מי הוא זה ערב את לבו לגשת אלי נאם יהוה׃

²²And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

²²Vous serez mon peuple, Et je serai votre Dieu.

²²והייתם לי לעם ואנכי אהיה לכם לאלהים׃

²³Behold, the tempest of Jehovah, [even his] wrath, is gone forth, a sweeping tempest: it shall burst upon the head of the wicked.

²³Voici, la tempête de l'Eternel, la fureur éclate, L'orage se précipite, Il fond sur la tête des méchants.

²³הנה סערת יהוה חמה יצאה סער מתגורר על ראש רשעים יחול׃

²⁴The fierce anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall understand it.

²⁴La colère ardente de l'Eternel ne se calmera pas, Jusqu'à ce qu'il ait accompli, exécuté les desseins de son coeur. Vous le comprendrez dans la suite des temps.

²⁴לא ישוב חרון אף יהוה עד עשתו ועד הקימו מזמות לבו באחרית הימים תתבוננו בה׃
