1At that time, saith Jehovah, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.
1En ce temps-là, dit l'Eternel, Je serai le Dieu de toutes les familles d'Israël, Et ils seront mon peuple.
1בעת ההיא נאם יהוה אהיה לאלהים לכל משפחות ישראל והמה יהיו לי לעם׃
2Thus saith Jehovah, The people that were left of the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.
2Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Il a trouvé grâce dans le désert, Le peuple de ceux qui ont échappé au glaive; Israël marche vers son lieu de repos.
2כה אמר יהוה מצא חן במדבר עם שרידי חרב הלוך להרגיעו ישראל׃
3Jehovah appeared of old unto me, [saying], Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
3De loin l'Eternel se montre à moi: Je t'aime d'un amour éternel; C'est pourquoi je te conserve ma bonté.
3מרחוק יהוה נראה לי ואהבת עולם אהבתיך על כן משכתיך חסד׃
4Again will I build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: again shalt thou be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.
4Je te rétablirai encore, et tu seras rétablie, Vierge d'Israël! Tu auras encore tes tambourins pour parure, Et tu sortiras au milieu des danses joyeuses.
4עוד אבנך ונבנית בתולת ישראל עוד תעדי תפיך ויצאת במחול משחקים׃
5Again shalt thou plant vineyards upon the mountains of Samaria; the planters shall plant, and shall enjoy [the fruit thereof].
5Tu planteras encore des vignes sur les montagnes de Samarie; Les planteurs planteront, et cueilleront les fruits.
5עוד תטעי כרמים בהרי שמרון נטעו נטעים וחללו׃
6For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the hills of Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto Jehovah our God.
6Car le jour vient où les gardes crieront sur la montagne d'Ephraïm: Levez-vous, montons à Sion, vers l'Eternel, notre Dieu!
6כי יש יום קראו נצרים בהר אפרים קומו ונעלה ציון אל יהוה אלהינו׃
7For thus saith Jehovah, Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout for the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O Jehovah, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.
7Car ainsi parle l'Eternel: Poussez des cris de joie sur Jacob, Eclatez d'allégresse à la tête des nations! Elevez vos voix, chantez des louanges, et dites: Eternel, délivre ton peuple, le reste d'Israël!
7כי כה אמר יהוה רנו ליעקב שמחה וצהלו בראש הגוים השמיעו הללו ואמרו הושע יהוה את עמך את שארית ישראל׃
8Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the uttermost parts of the earth, [and] with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall they return hither.
8Voici, je les ramène du pays du septentrion, Je les rassemble des extrémités de la terre; Parmi eux sont l'aveugle et le boiteux, La femme enceinte et celle en travail; C'est une grande multitude, qui revient ici.
8הנני מביא אותם מארץ צפון וקבצתים מירכתי ארץ בם עור ופסח הרה וילדת יחדו קהל גדול ישובו הנה׃
9They shall come with weeping; and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way wherein they shall not stumble; for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my first-born.
9Ils viennent en pleurant, et je les conduis au milieu de leurs supplications; Je les mène vers des torrents d'eau, Par un chemin uni où ils ne chancellent pas; Car je suis un père pour Israël, Et Ephraïm est mon premier-né.
9בבכי יבאו ובתחנונים אובילם אוליכם אל נחלי מים בדרך ישר לא יכשלו בה כי הייתי לישראל לאב ואפרים בכרי הוא׃
10Hear the word of Jehovah, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off; and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as shepherd doth his flock.
10Nations, écoutez la parole de l'Eternel, Et publiez-la dans les îles lointaines! Dites: Celui qui a dispersé Israël le rassemblera, Et il le gardera comme le berger garde son troupeau.
10שמעו דבר יהוה גוים והגידו באיים ממרחק ואמרו מזרה ישראל יקבצנו ושמרו כרעה עדרו׃
11For Jehovah hath ransomed Jacob, and redeemed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
11Car l'Eternel rachète Jacob, Il le délivre de la main d'un plus fort que lui.
11כי פדה יהוה את יעקב וגאלו מיד חזק ממנו׃
12And they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow unto the goodness of Jehovah, to the grain, and to the new wine, and to the oil, and to the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
12Ils viendront, et pousseront des cris de joie sur les hauteurs de Sion; Ils accourront vers les biens de l'Eternel, Le blé, le moût, l'huile, Les brebis et les boeufs; Leur âme sera comme un jardin arrosé, Et ils ne seront plus dans la souffrance.
12ובאו ורננו במרום ציון ונהרו אל טוב יהוה על דגן ועל תירש ועל יצהר ועל בני צאן ובקר והיתה נפשם כגן רוה ולא יוסיפו לדאבה עוד׃
13Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old together; for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
13Alors les jeunes filles se réjouiront à la danse, Les jeunes hommes et les vieillards se réjouiront aussi; Je changerai leur deuil en allégresse, et je les consolerai; Je leur donnerai de la joie après leurs chagrins.
13אז תשמח בתולה במחול ובחרים וזקנים יחדו והפכתי אבלם לששון ונחמתים ושמחתים מיגונם׃
14And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith Jehovah.
14Je rassasierai de graisse l'âme des sacrificateurs, Et mon peuple se rassasiera de mes biens, dit l'Eternel.
14ורויתי נפש הכהנים דשן ועמי את טובי ישבעו נאם יהוה׃
15Thus saith Jehovah: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children; she refuseth to be comforted for her children, because they are not.
15Ainsi parle l'Eternel: On entend des cris à Rama, Des lamentations, des larmes amères; Rachel pleure ses enfants; Elle refuse d'être consolée sur ses enfants, Car ils ne sont plus.
15כה אמר יהוה קול ברמה נשמע נהי בכי תמרורים רחל מבכה על בניה מאנה להנחם על בניה כי איננו׃
16Thus saith Jehovah: Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears; for thy work shall be rewarded, saith Jehovah; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
16Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Retiens tes pleurs, Retiens les larmes de tes yeux; Car il y aura un salaire pour tes oeuvres, dit l'Eternel; Ils reviendront du pays de l'ennemi.
16כה אמר יהוה מנעי קולך מבכי ועיניך מדמעה כי יש שכר לפעלתך נאם יהוה ושבו מארץ אויב׃
17And there is hope for thy latter end, saith Jehovah; and [thy] children shall come again to their own border.
17Il y a de l'espérance pour ton avenir, dit l'Eternel; Tes enfants reviendront dans leur territoire.
17ויש תקוה לאחריתך נאם יהוה ושבו בנים לגבולם׃
18I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself [thus], Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a calf unaccustomed [to the yoke]: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art Jehovah my God.
18J'entends Ephraïm qui se lamente: Tu m'as châtié, et j'ai été châtié Comme un veau qui n'est pas dompté; Fais-moi revenir, et je reviendrai, Car tu es l'Eternel, mon Dieu.
18שמוע שמעתי אפרים מתנודד יסרתני ואוסר כעגל לא למד השבני ואשובה כי אתה יהוה אלהי׃
19Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.
19Après m'être détourné, j'éprouve du repentir; Et après avoir reconnu mes fautes, je frappe sur ma cuisse; Je suis honteux et confus, Car je porte l'opprobre de ma jeunesse. -
19כי אחרי שובי נחמתי ואחרי הודעי ספקתי על ירך בשתי וגם נכלמתי כי נשאתי חרפת נעורי׃
20Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a darling child? for as often as I speak against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart yearneth for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith Jehovah.
20Ephraïm est-il donc pour moi un fils chéri, Un enfant qui fait mes délices? Car plus je parle de lui, plus encore son souvenir est en moi; Aussi mes entrailles sont émues en sa faveur: J'aurai pitié de lui, dit l'Eternel. -
20הבן יקיר לי אפרים אם ילד שעשועים כי מדי דברי בו זכר אזכרנו עוד על כן המו מעי לו רחם ארחמנו נאם יהוה׃
21Set thee up waymarks, make thee guide-posts; set thy heart toward the highway, even the way by which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.
21Dresse des signes, place des poteaux, Prends garde à la route, au chemin que tu as suivi... Reviens, vierge d'Israël, Reviens dans ces villes qui sont à toi!
21הציבי לך צינים שמי לך תמרורים שתי לבך למסלה דרך הלכתי שובי בתולת ישראל שבי אל עריך אלה׃
22How long wilt thou go hither and thither, O thou backsliding daughter? for Jehovah hath created a new thing in the earth: a woman shall encompass a man.
22Jusques à quand seras-tu errante, Fille égarée? Car l'Eternel crée une chose nouvelle sur la terre: La femme recherchera l'homme.
22עד מתי תתחמקין הבת השובבה כי ברא יהוה חדשה בארץ נקבה תסובב גבר׃
23Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Yet again shall they use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity: Jehovah bless thee, O habitation of righteousness, O mountain of holiness.
23Ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: Voici encore ce que l'on dira dans le pays de Juda et dans ses villes, Quand j'aurai ramené leurs captifs: Que l'Eternel te bénisse, demeure de la justice, Montagne sainte!
23כה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל עוד יאמרו את הדבר הזה בארץ יהודה ובעריו בשובי את שבותם יברכך יהוה נוה צדק הר הקדש׃
24And Judah and all the cities thereof shall dwell therein together, the husbandmen, and they that go about with flocks.
24Là s'établiront Juda et toutes ses villes, Les laboureurs et ceux qui conduisent les troupeaux.
24וישבו בה יהודה וכל עריו יחדו אכרים ונסעו בעדר׃
25For I have satiated the weary soul, and every sorrowful soul have I replenished.
25Car je rafraîchirai l'âme altérée, Et je rassasierai toute âme languissante.
25כי הרויתי נפש עיפה וכל נפש דאבה מלאתי׃
26Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.
26Là-dessus je me suis réveillé, et j'ai regardé; Mon sommeil m'avait été agréable.
26על זאת הקיצתי ואראה ושנתי ערבה לי׃
27Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.
27Voici, les jours viennent, dit l'Eternel, Où j'ensemencerai la maison d'Israël et la maison de Juda D'une semence d'hommes et d'une semence de bêtes.
27הנה ימים באים נאם יהוה וזרעתי את בית ישראל ואת בית יהודה זרע אדם וזרע בהמה׃
28And it shall come to pass that, like as I have watched over them to pluck up and to break down and to overthrow and to destroy and to afflict, so will I watch over them to build and to plant, saith Jehovah.
28Et comme j'ai veillé sur eux Pour arracher, abattre, détruire, ruiner et faire du mal, Ainsi je veillerai sur eux pour bâtir et pour planter, Dit l'Eternel.
28והיה כאשר שקדתי עליהם לנתוש ולנתוץ ולהרס ולהאביד ולהרע כן אשקד עליהם לבנות ולנטוע נאם יהוה׃
29In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge.
29En ces jours-là, on ne dira plus: Les pères ont mangé des raisins verts, Et les dents des enfants en ont été agacées.
29בימים ההם לא יאמרו עוד אבות אכלו בסר ושני בנים תקהינה׃
30But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.
30Mais chacun mourra pour sa propre iniquité; Tout homme qui mangera des raisins verts, Ses dents en seront agacées.
30כי אם איש בעונו ימות כל האדם האכל הבסר תקהינה שניו׃
31Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
31Voici, les jours viennent, dit l'Eternel, Où je ferai avec la maison d'Israël et la maison de Juda Une alliance nouvelle,
31הנה ימים באים נאם יהוה וכרתי את בית ישראל ואת בית יהודה ברית חדשה׃
32not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was a husband unto them, saith Jehovah.
32Non comme l'alliance que je traitai avec leurs pères, Le jour où je les saisis par la main Pour les faire sortir du pays d'Egypte, Alliance qu'ils ont violée, Quoique je fusse leur maître, dit l'Eternel.
32לא כברית אשר כרתי את אבותם ביום החזיקי בידם להוציאם מארץ מצרים אשר המה הפרו את בריתי ואנכי בעלתי בם נאם יהוה׃
33But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith Jehovah: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:
33Mais voici l'alliance que je ferai avec la maison d'Israël, Après ces jours-là, dit l'Eternel: Je mettrai ma loi au dedans d'eux, Je l'écrirai dans leur coeur; Et je serai leur Dieu, Et ils seront mon peuple.
33כי זאת הברית אשר אכרת את בית ישראל אחרי הימים ההם נאם יהוה נתתי את תורתי בקרבם ועל לבם אכתבנה והייתי להם לאלהים והמה יהיו לי לעם׃
34and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah; for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith Jehovah: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.
34Celui-ci n'enseignera plus son prochain, Ni celui-là son frère, en disant: Connaissez l'Eternel! Car tous me connaîtront, Depuis le plus petit jusqu'au plus grand, dit l'Eternel; Car je pardonnerai leur iniquité, Et je ne me souviendrai plus de leur péché.
34ולא ילמדו עוד איש את רעהו ואיש את אחיו לאמר דעו את יהוה כי כולם ידעו אותי למקטנם ועד גדולם נאם יהוה כי אסלח לעונם ולחטאתם לא אזכר עוד׃
35Thus saith Jehovah, who giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who stirreth up the sea, so that the waves thereof roar; Jehovah of hosts is his name:
35Ainsi parle l'Eternel, qui a fait le soleil pour éclairer le jour, Qui a destiné la lune et les étoiles à éclairer la nuit, Qui soulève la mer et fait mugir ses flots, Lui dont le nom est l'Eternel des armées:
35כה אמר יהוה נתן שמש לאור יומם חקת ירח וכוכבים לאור לילה רגע הים ויהמו גליו יהוה צבאות שמו׃
36If these ordinances depart from before me, saith Jehovah, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
36Si ces lois viennent à cesser devant moi, dit l'Eternel, La race d'Israël aussi cessera pour toujours d'être une nation devant moi.
36אם ימשו החקים האלה מלפני נאם יהוה גם זרע ישראל ישבתו מהיות גוי לפני כל הימים׃
37Thus saith Jehovah: If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then will I also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith Jehovah.
37Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Si les cieux en haut peuvent être mesurés, Si les fondements de la terre en bas peuvent être sondés, Alors je rejetterai toute la race d'Israël, A cause de tout ce qu'ils ont fait, dit l'Eternel.
37כה אמר יהוה אם ימדו שמים מלמעלה ויחקרו מוסדי ארץ למטה גם אני אמאס בכל זרע ישראל על כל אשר עשו נאם יהוה׃
38Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that the city shall be built to Jehovah from the tower of Hananel unto the gate of the corner.
38Voici, les jours viennent, dit l'Eternel, Où la ville sera rebâtie à l'honneur de l'Eternel, Depuis la tour de Hananeel jusqu'à la porte de l'angle.
38הנה ימים נאם יהוה ונבנתה העיר ליהוה ממגדל חננאל שער הפנה׃
39And the measuring line shall go out further straight onward unto the hill Gareb, and shall turn about unto Goah.
39Le cordeau s'étendra encore vis-à-vis, Jusqu'à la colline de Gareb, Et fera un circuit du côté de Goath.
39ויצא עוד קוה המדה נגדו על גבעת גרב ונסב געתה׃
40And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto Jehovah; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.
40Toute la vallée des cadavres et de la cendre, Et tous les champs jusqu'au torrent de Cédron, Jusqu'à l'angle de la porte des chevaux à l'orient, Seront consacrés à l'Eternel, Et ne seront plus à jamais ni renversés ni détruits.
40וכל העמק הפגרים והדשן וכל השרמות עד נחל קדרון עד פנת שער הסוסים מזרחה קדש ליהוה לא ינתש ולא יהרס עוד לעולם׃
