¹Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

¹Sédécias avait vingt et un ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Hamuthal, fille de Jérémie, de Libna.

¹בן עשרים ואחת שנה צדקיהו במלכו ואחת עשרה שנה מלך בירושלם ושם אמו חמיטל בת ירמיהו מלבנה׃

²And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

²Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Eternel, entièrement comme avait fait Jojakim.

²ויעש הרע בעיני יהוה ככל אשר עשה יהויקים׃

³For through the anger of Jehovah did it come to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

³Et cela arriva à cause de la colère de l'Eternel contre Jérusalem et contre Juda, qu'il voulait rejeter de devant sa face. Et Sédécias se révolta contre le roi de Babylone.

³כי על אף יהוה היתה בירושלם ויהודה עד השליכו אותם מעל פניו וימרד צדקיהו במלך בבל׃

⁴And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it round about.

⁴La neuvième année du règne de Sédécias, le dixième jour du dixième mois, Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, vint avec toute son armée contre Jérusalem; ils campèrent devant elle, et élevèrent des retranchements tout autour.

⁴ויהי בשנה התשעית למלכו בחדש העשירי בעשור לחדש בא נבוכדראצר מלך בבל הוא וכל חילו על ירושלם ויחנו עליה ויבנו עליה דיק סביב׃

⁵So the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

⁵La ville fut assiégée jusqu'à la onzième année du roi Sédécias.

⁵ותבא העיר במצור עד עשתי עשרה שנה למלך צדקיהו׃

⁶In the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

⁶Le neuvième jour du quatrième mois, la famine était forte dans la ville, et il n'y avait pas de pain pour le peuple du pays.

⁶בחדש הרביעי בתשעה לחדש ויחזק הרעב בעיר ולא היה לחם לעם הארץ׃

⁷Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were against the city round about;) and they went toward the Arabah.

⁷Alors la brèche fut faite à la ville; et tous les gens de guerre s'enfuirent, et sortirent de la ville pendant la nuit par le chemin de la porte entre les deux murs près du jardin du roi, tandis que les Chaldéens environnaient la ville. Les fuyards prirent le chemin de la plaine.

⁷ותבקע העיר וכל אנשי המלחמה יברחו ויצאו מהעיר לילה דרך שער בין החמתים אשר על גן המלך וכשדים על העיר סביב וילכו דרך הערבה׃

⁸But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.

⁸Mais l'armée des Chaldéens poursuivit le roi, et ils atteignirent Sédécias dans les plaines de Jéricho; et toute son armée se dispersa loin de lui.

⁸וירדפו חיל כשדים אחרי המלך וישיגו את צדקיהו בערבת ירחו וכל חילו נפצו מעליו׃

⁹Then they took the king, and carried him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; and he gave judgment upon him.

⁹Ils saisirent le roi, et le firent monter vers le roi de Babylone à Ribla, dans le pays de Hamath; et il prononça contre lui une sentence.

⁹ויתפשו את המלך ויעלו אתו אל מלך בבל רבלתה בארץ חמת וידבר אתו משפטים׃

¹⁰And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he slew also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.

¹⁰Le roi de Babylone fit égorger les fils de Sédécias en sa présence; il fit aussi égorger tous les chefs de Juda à Ribla.

¹⁰וישחט מלך בבל את בני צדקיהו לעיניו וגם את כל שרי יהודה שחט ברבלתה׃

¹¹And he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.

¹¹Puis il fit crever les yeux à Sédécias, et le fit lier avec des chaînes d'airain; le roi de Babylone l'emmena à Babylone, et il le tint en prison jusqu'au jour de sa mort.

¹¹ואת עיני צדקיהו עור ויאסרהו בנחשתים ויבאהו מלך בבל בבלה ויתנהו בבית הפקדת עד יום מותו׃

¹²Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, who stood before the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem:

¹²ובחדש החמישי בעשור לחדש היא שנת תשע עשרה שנה למלך נבוכדראצר מלך בבל בא נבוזראדן רב טבחים עמד לפני מלך בבל בירושלם׃

¹³and he burned the house of Jehovah, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, burned he with fire.

¹³Il brûla la maison de l'Eternel, la maison du roi, et toutes les maisons de Jérusalem; il livra au feu toutes les maisons de quelque importance.

¹³וישרף את בית יהוה ואת בית המלך ואת כל בתי ירושלם ואת כל בית הגדול שרף באש׃

¹⁴And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.

¹⁴Toute l'armée des Chaldéens, qui était avec le chef des gardes, démolit toutes les murailles formant l'enceinte de Jérusalem.

¹⁴ואת כל חמות ירושלם סביב נתצו כל חיל כשדים אשר את רב טבחים׃

¹⁵Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the poorest of the people, and the residue of the people that were left in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the residue of the multitude.

¹⁵Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, emmena captifs une partie des plus pauvres du peuple, ceux du peuple qui étaient demeurés dans la ville, ceux qui s'étaient rendus au roi de Babylone, et le reste de la multitude.

¹⁵ומדלות העם ואת יתר העם הנשארים בעיר ואת הנפלים אשר נפלו אל מלך בבל ואת יתר האמון הגלה נבוזראדן רב טבחים׃

¹⁶But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poorest of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen.

¹⁶Cependant Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, laissa comme vignerons et comme laboureurs quelques-uns des plus pauvres du pays.

¹⁶ומדלות הארץ השאיר נבוזראדן רב טבחים לכרמים וליגבים׃

¹⁷And the pillars of brass that were in the house of Jehovah, and the bases and the brazen sea that were in the house of Jehovah, did the Chaldeans break in pieces, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.

¹⁷Les Chaldéens brisèrent les colonnes d'airain qui étaient dans la maison de l'Eternel, les bases, la mer d'airain qui était dans la maison de l'Eternel, et ils en emportèrent tout l'airain à Babylone.

¹⁷ואת עמודי הנחשת אשר לבית יהוה ואת המכנות ואת ים הנחשת אשר בבית יהוה שברו כשדים וישאו את כל נחשתם בבלה׃

¹⁸The pots also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the basins, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.

¹⁸Ils prirent les cendriers, les pelles, les couteaux, les coupes, les tasses, et tous les ustensiles d'airain avec lesquels on faisait le service.

¹⁸ואת הסרות ואת היעים ואת המזמרות ואת המזרקת ואת הכפות ואת כל כלי הנחשת אשר ישרתו בהם לקחו׃

¹⁹And the cups, and the firepans, and the basins, and the pots, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the bowls-that which was of gold, in gold, and that which was of silver, in silver,- the captain of the guard took away.

¹⁹Le chef des gardes prit encore les bassins, les brasiers, les coupes, les cendriers, les chandeliers, les tasses et les calices, ce qui était d'or et ce qui était d'argent.

¹⁹ואת הספים ואת המחתות ואת המזרקות ואת הסירות ואת המנרות ואת הכפות ואת המנקיות אשר זהב זהב ואשר כסף כסף לקח רב טבחים׃

²⁰The two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve brazen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made for the house of Jehovah-the brass of all these vessels was without weight.

²⁰Les deux colonnes, la mer, et les douze boeufs d'airain qui servaient de base, et que le roi Salomon avait faits pour la maison de l'Eternel, tous ces ustensiles d'airain avaient un poids inconnu.

²⁰העמודים שנים הים אחד והבקר שנים עשר נחשת אשר תחת המכנות אשר עשה המלך שלמה לבית יהוה לא היה משקל לנחשתם כל הכלים האלה׃

²¹And as for the pillars, the height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a line of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.

²¹La hauteur de l'une des colonnes était de dix-huit coudées, et un cordon de douze coudées l'entourait; elle était creuse, et son épaisseur avait quatre doigts;

²¹והעמודים שמנה עשרה אמה קומה העמד האחד וחוט שתים עשרה אמה יסבנו ועביו ארבע אצבעות נבוב׃

²²And a capital of brass was upon it; and the height of the one capital was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the capital round about, all of brass: and the second pillar also had like unto these, and pomegranates.

²²il y avait au-dessus un chapiteau d'airain, et la hauteur d'un chapiteau était de cinq coudées; autour du chapiteau il y avait un treillis et des grenades, le tout d'airain; il en était de même pour la seconde colonne avec des grenades.

²²וכתרת עליו נחשת וקומת הכתרת האחת חמש אמות ושבכה ורמונים על הכותרת סביב הכל נחשת וכאלה לעמוד השני ורמונים׃

²³And there were ninety and six pomegranates on the sides; all the pomegranates were a hundred upon the network round about.

²³Il y avait quatre-vingt-seize grenades de chaque côté, et toutes les grenades autour du treillis étaient au nombre de cent.

²³ויהיו הרמנים תשעים וששה רוחה כל הרמונים מאה על השבכה סביב׃

²⁴And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold:

²⁴Le chef des gardes prit Seraja, le souverain sacrificateur, Sophonie, le second sacrificateur, et les trois gardiens du seuil.

²⁴ויקח רב טבחים את שריה כהן הראש ואת צפניה כהן המשנה ואת שלשת שמרי הסף׃

²⁵and out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war; and seven men of them that saw the king's face, that were found in the city; and the scribe of the captain of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.

²⁵Et dans la ville il prit un eunuque qui avait sous son commandement les gens de guerre, sept hommes qui faisaient partie des conseillers du roi et qui furent trouvés dans la ville, le secrétaire du chef de l'armée qui était chargé d'enrôler le peuple du pays, et soixante hommes du peuple du pays qui se trouvèrent dans la ville.

²⁵ומן העיר לקח סריס אחד אשר היה פקיד על אנשי המלחמה ושבעה אנשים מראי פני המלך אשר נמצאו בעיר ואת ספר שר הצבא המצבא את עם הארץ וששים איש מעם הארץ הנמצאים בתוך העיר׃

²⁶And Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.

²⁶Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, les prit, et les conduisit vers le roi de Babylone à Ribla.

²⁶ויקח אותם נבוזראדן רב טבחים וילך אותם אל מלך בבל רבלתה׃

²⁷And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away captive out of his land.

²⁷Le roi de Babylone les frappa et les fit mourir à Ribla, dans le pays de Hamath. Ainsi Juda fut emmené captif loin de son pays.

²⁷ויכה אותם מלך בבל וימתם ברבלה בארץ חמת ויגל יהודה מעל אדמתו׃

²⁸This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty;

²⁸Voici le peuple que Nebucadnetsar emmena en captivité: la septième année, trois mille vingt-trois Juifs;

²⁸זה העם אשר הגלה נבוכדראצר בשנת שבע יהודים שלשת אלפים ועשרים ושלשה׃

²⁹in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty and two persons;

²⁹la dix-huitième année de Nebucadnetsar, il emmena de Jérusalem huit cent trente-deux personnes;

²⁹בשנת שמונה עשרה לנבוכדראצר מירושלם נפש שמנה מאות שלשים ושנים׃

³⁰in the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.

³⁰la vingt-troisième année de Nebucadnetsar, Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, emmena sept cent quarante-cinq Juifs; en tout quatre mille six cents personnes.

³⁰בשנת שלש ועשרים לנבוכדראצר הגלה נבוזראדן רב טבחים יהודים נפש שבע מאות ארבעים וחמשה כל נפש ארבעת אלפים ושש מאות׃

³¹And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the [first] year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison;

³¹La trente-septième année de la captivité de Jojakin, roi de Juda, le vingt-cinquième jour du douzième mois, Evil-Merodac, roi de Babylone, dans la première année de son règne, releva la tête de Jojakin, roi de Juda, et le fit sortir de prison.

³¹ויהי בשלשים ושבע שנה לגלות יהויכן מלך יהודה בשנים עשר חדש בעשרים וחמשה לחדש נשא אויל מרדך מלך בבל בשנת מלכתו את ראש יהויכין מלך יהודה ויצא אותו מבית הכליא׃

³²and he spake kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,

³²Il lui parla avec bonté, et il mit son trône au-dessus du trône des rois qui étaient avec lui à Babylone.

³²וידבר אתו טבות ויתן את כסאו ממעל לכסא מלכים אשר אתו בבבל׃

³³and changed his prison garments. And [Jehoiachin] did eat bread before him continually all the days of his life:

³³Il lui fit changer ses vêtements de prison, et Jojakin mangea toujours à sa table tout le temps de sa vie.

³³ושנה את בגדי כלאו ואכל לחם לפניו תמיד כל ימי חיו׃

³⁴and for his allowance, there was a continual allowance given him by the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.

³⁴Le roi de Babylone pourvut constamment à son entretien journalier jusqu'au jour de sa mort, tout le temps de sa vie.

³⁴וארחתו ארחת תמיד נתנה לו מאת מלך בבל דבר יום ביומו עד יום מותו כל ימי חייו׃
