¹And the lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was unto the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.

²And their south border was from the uttermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looketh southward;

²Ainsi, leur limite méridionale partait de l'extrémité de la mer Salée, de la langue qui fait face au sud.

²ויהי להם גבול נגב מקצה ים המלח מן הלשן הפנה נגבה׃

³and it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh-barnea, and passed along by Hezron, and went up to Addar, and turned about to Karka;

³Elle se prolongeait au midi de la montée d'Akrabbim, passait par Tsin, et montait au midi de Kadès-Barnéa; elle passait de là par Hetsron, montait vers Addar, et tournait à Karkaa;

³ויצא אל מנגב למעלה עקרבים ועבר צנה ועלה מנגב לקדש ברנע ועבר חצרון ועלה אדרה ונסב הקרקעה׃

⁴and it passed along to Azmon, and went out at the brook of Egypt; and the goings out of the border were at the sea: this shall be your south border.

⁴elle passait ensuite par Atsmon, et continuait jusqu'au torrent d'Egypte, pour aboutir à la mer. Ce sera votre limite au midi.

⁴ועבר עצמונה ויצא נחל מצרים והיה תצאות הגבול ימה זה יהיה לכם גבול נגב׃

⁵And the east border was the Salt Sea, even unto the end of the Jordan. And the border of the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan;

⁵La limite orientale était la mer Salée jusqu'à l'embouchure du Jourdain. La limite septentrionale partait de la langue de mer qui est à l'embouchure du Jourdain.

⁵וגבול קדמה ים המלח עד קצה הירדן וגבול לפאת צפונה מלשון הים מקצה הירדן׃

⁶and the border went up to Beth-hoglah, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben;

⁶Elle montait vers Beth-Hogla, passait au nord de Beth-Araba, et s'élevait jusqu'à la pierre de Bohan, fils de Ruben;

⁶ועלה הגבול בית חגלה ועבר מצפון לבית הערבה ועלה הגבול אבן בהן בן ראובן׃

⁷and the border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is over against the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the river; and the border passed along to the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel;

⁷elle montait à Debir, à quelque distance de la vallée d'Acor, et se dirigeait vers le nord du côté de Guilgal, qui est vis-à-vis de la montée d'Adummim au sud du torrent. Elle passait près des eaux d'En-Schémesch, et se prolongeait jusqu'à En-Roguel.

⁷ועלה הגבול דברה מעמק עכור וצפונה פנה אל הגלגל אשר נכח למעלה אדמים אשר מנגב לנחל ועבר הגבול אל מי עין שמש והיו תצאתיו אל עין רגל׃

⁸and the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the side of the Jebusite southward (the same is Jerusalem); and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the uttermost part of the vale of Rephaim northward;

⁸ועלה הגבול גי בן הנם אל כתף היבוסי מנגב היא ירושלם ועלה הגבול אל ראש ההר אשר על פני גי הנם ימה אשר בקצה עמק רפאים צפנה׃

⁹and the border extended from the top of the mountain unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border extended to Baalah (the same is Kiriath-jearim);

⁹Du sommet de la montagne elle s'étendait jusqu'à la source des eaux de Nephthoach, continuait vers les villes de la montagne d'Ephron, et se prolongeait par Baala, qui est Kirjath-Jearim.

⁹ותאר הגבול מראש ההר אל מעין מי נפתוח ויצא אל ערי הר עפרון ותאר הגבול בעלה היא קרית יערים׃

¹⁰and the border turned about from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim on the north (the same is Chesalon), and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed along by Timnah;

¹⁰De Baala elle tournait à l'occident vers la montagne de Séir, traversait le côté septentrional de la montagne de Jearim, à Kesalon, descendait à Beth-Schémesch, et passait par Thimna.

¹⁰ונסב הגבול מבעלה ימה אל הר שעיר ועבר אל כתף הר יערים מצפונה היא כסלון וירד בית שמש ועבר תמנה׃

¹¹and the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward; and the border extended to Shikkeron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out at Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

¹¹Elle continuait sur le côté septentrional d'Ekron, s'étendait vers Schicron, passait par la montagne de Baala, et se prolongeait jusqu'à Jabneel, pour aboutir à la mer.

¹¹ויצא הגבול אל כתף עקרון צפונה ותאר הגבול שכרונה ועבר הר הבעלה ויצא יבנאל והיו תצאות הגבול ימה׃

¹²And the west border was to the great sea, and the border [thereof]. This is the border of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

¹²La limite occidentale était la grande mer. Telles furent de tous les côtés les limites des fils de Juda, selon leurs familles.

¹²וגבול ים הימה הגדול וגבול זה גבול בני יהודה סביב למשפחתם׃

¹³And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, even Kiriath-arba, [which Arba was] the father of Anak (the same is Hebron).

¹³On donna à Caleb, fils de Jephunné, une part au milieu des fils de Juda, comme l'Eternel l'avait ordonné à Josué; on lui donna Kirjath-Arba, qui est Hébron: Arba était le père d'Anak.

¹³ולכלב בן יפנה נתן חלק בתוך בני יהודה אל פי יהוה ליהושע את קרית ארבע אבי הענק היא חברון׃

¹⁴And Caleb drove out thence the three sons of Anak: Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

¹⁴וירש משם כלב את שלושה בני הענק את ששי ואת אחימן ואת תלמי ילידי הענק׃

¹⁵And he went up thence against the inhabitants of Debir: now the name of Debir beforetime was Kiriath-sepher.

¹⁵De là il monta contre les habitants de Debir: Debir s'appelait autrefois Kirjath-Sépher.

¹⁵ויעל משם אל ישבי דבר ושם דבר לפנים קרית ספר׃

¹⁶And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

¹⁶Caleb dit: Je donnerai ma fille Acsa pour femme à celui qui battra Kirjath-Sépher et qui la prendra.

¹⁶ויאמר כלב אשר יכה את קרית ספר ולכדה ונתתי לו את עכסה בתי לאשה׃

¹⁷And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

¹⁷Othniel, fils de Kenaz, frère de Caleb, s'en empara; et Caleb lui donna pour femme sa fille Acsa.

¹⁷וילכדה עתניאל בן קנז אחי כלב ויתן לו את עכסה בתו לאשה׃

¹⁸And it came to pass, when she came [unto him], that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she alighted from off her ass; and Caleb said, What wouldest thou?

¹⁸Lorsqu'elle fut entrée chez Othniel, elle le sollicita de demander à son père un champ. Elle descendit de dessus son âne, et Caleb lui dit: Qu'as-tu?

¹⁸ויהי בבואה ותסיתהו לשאול מאת אביה שדה ותצנח מעל החמור ויאמר לה כלב מה לך׃

¹⁹And she said, Give me a blessing; for that thou hast set me in the land of the South, give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs and the nether springs.

¹⁹Elle répondit: Fais-moi un présent, car tu m'as donné une terre du midi; donne-moi aussi des sources d'eau. Et il lui donna les sources supérieures et les sources inférieures.

¹⁹ותאמר תנה לי ברכה כי ארץ הנגב נתתני ונתתה לי גלת מים ויתן לה את גלת עליות ואת גלת תחתיות׃

²⁰This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

²¹And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the border of Edom in the South were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

²³and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

²³וקדש וחצור ויתנן׃

²⁴Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

²⁴Ziph, Thélem, Bealoth,

²⁴זיף וטלם ובעלות׃

²⁵and Hazor-hadattah, and Kerioth-hezron (the same is Hazor),

²⁵Hatsor-Hadattha, Kerijoth-Hetsron, qui est Hatsor,

²⁶Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

²⁹Baalah, and Iim, and Ezem,

²⁹Baala, Ijjim, Atsem,

²⁹בעלה ועיים ועצם׃

³⁰and Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

³⁰Eltholad, Kesil, Horma,

³⁰ואלתולד וכסיל וחרמה׃

³¹and Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

³¹Tsiklag, Madmanna, Sansanna,

³¹וצקלג ומדמנה וסנסנה׃

³²and Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages.

³⁶and Shaaraim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages.

⁴¹and Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages.

⁴⁶from Ekron even unto the sea, all that were by the side of Ashdod, with their villages.

⁴⁸And in the hill-country, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

⁵⁷הקין גבעה ותמנה ערים עשר וחצריהן׃

⁵⁸Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,

⁵⁹and Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages.

⁵⁹ומערת ובית ענות ואלתקן ערים שש וחצריהן׃

⁶⁰Kiriath-baal (the same is Kiriath-jearim), and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.

⁶⁰קרית בעל היא קרית יערים והרבה ערים שתים וחצריהן׃

⁶¹In the wilderness, Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,

⁶²and Nibshan, and the City of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.

⁶²והנבשן ועיר המלח ועין גדי ערים שש וחצריהן׃

⁶³And as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.

⁶³Les fils de Juda ne purent pas chasser les Jébusiens qui habitaient à Jérusalem, et les Jébusiens ont habité avec les fils de Juda à Jérusalem jusqu'à ce jour.

⁶³ואת היבוסי יושבי ירושלם לא יוכלו בני יהודה להורישם וישב היבוסי את בני יהודה בירושלם עד היום הזה׃
