¹And he said unto his disciples, It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe unto him, through whom they come!

¹Jésus dit à ses disciples: Il est impossible qu'il n'arrive pas des scandales; mais malheur à celui par qui ils arrivent!

¹ויאמר אל תלמידיו אי אפשר שלא יבאו המכשלים אבל אוי לאיש אשר על ידו יבאו׃

²It were well for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.

²Il vaudrait mieux pour lui qu'on mît à son cou une pierre de moulin et qu'on le jetât dans la mer, que s'il scandalisait un de ces petits.

²נוח לו שיתלה פלח רכב על צוארו וישלך אל הים מאשר יכשיל את אחד מהקטנים wאלה׃

³Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother sin, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

³Prenez garde à vous-mêmes. Si ton frère a péché, reprends-le; et, s'il se repent, pardonne-lui.

³השמרו לנפשותיכם אם יחטא לך אחיך הוכח לו ואם ינחם סלח לו׃

⁴And if he sin against thee seven times in the day, and seven times turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

⁴Et s'il a péché contre toi sept fois dans un jour et que sept fois il revienne à toi, disant: Je me repens, -tu lui pardonneras.

⁴ואם יחטא לך שבע פעמים ביום ושב אליך שבע פעמים ביום ואמר נחמתי וסלחת לו׃

⁵And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

⁵Les apôtres dirent au Seigneur: Augmente-nous la foi.

⁵ויאמרו השליחים אל האדון הוסף לנו אמונה׃

⁶And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye would say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea; and it would obey you.

⁶Et le Seigneur dit: Si vous aviez de la foi comme un grain de sénevé, vous diriez à ce sycomore: Déracine-toi, et plante-toi dans la mer; et il vous obéirait.

⁶ויאמר האדון לו היתה לכם אמונה כגרגר החרדל אז תאמרו אל התות הזה העקר והנטע בתוך הים וישמע לכם׃

⁷But who is there of you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say unto him, when he is come in from the field, Come straightway and sit down to meat;

⁷Qui de vous, ayant un serviteur qui laboure ou paît les troupeaux, lui dira, quand il revient des champs: Approche vite, et mets-toi à table?

⁷מי הוא זה מכם ולו עבד חרש או רעה אשר בבאו מן השדה יאמר אליו מהר גשה הנה והסב׃

⁸and will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?

⁸Ne lui dira-t-il pas au contraire: Prépare-moi à souper, ceins-toi, et sers-moi, jusqu'à ce que j'aie mangé et bu; après cela, toi, tu mangeras et boiras?

⁸הלא יאמר אליו הכן לי ארוחת הערב וחגר מתניך ושרתני עד אם כליתי לאכל ולשתות ואחר תאכל ותשתה גם אתה׃

⁹Doth he thank the servant because he did the things that were commanded?

⁹Doit-il de la reconnaissance à ce serviteur parce qu'il a fait ce qui lui était ordonné?

⁹הגם יתן תודה לעבד על עשתו את אשר צוהו אמרתי לא יתן׃

¹⁰Even so ye also, when ye shall have done all the things that are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which it was our duty to do.

¹⁰Vous de même, quand vous avez fait tout ce qui vous a été ordonné, dites: Nous sommes des serviteurs inutiles, nous avons fait ce que nous devions faire.

¹⁰ככה גם אתם אחרי עשותכם את כל אשר צויתם אמרו עבדים אין מועיל בם אנחנו כי רק את המטל עלינו לעשות עשינו׃

¹¹And it came to pass, as they were on their way to Jerusalem, that he was passing along the borders of Samaria and Galilee.

¹¹Jésus, se rendant à Jérusalem, passait entre la Samarie et la Galilée.

¹¹ויהי בנסעו ירושלים והוא עבר בתוך שמרון והגליל׃

¹²And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off:

¹²Comme il entrait dans un village, dix lépreux vinrent à sa rencontre. Se tenant à distance,

¹²ויבא אל כפר אחד ויפגעהו עשרה אנשים מצרעים והם עמדים מרחוק׃

¹³and they lifted up their voices, saying, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

¹³ils élevèrent la voix, et dirent: Jésus, maître, aie pitié de nous!

¹³וישאו את קולם לאמר ישוע מורה חננו׃

¹⁴And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go and show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, as they went, they were cleansed.

¹⁴Dès qu'il les eut vus, il leur dit: Allez vous montrer aux sacrificateurs. Et, pendant qu'ils y allaient, il arriva qu'ils furent guéris.

¹⁴וירא אותם ויאמר אליהם לכו והראו אל הכהנים ויהי בלכתם ויטהרו׃

¹⁵And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, with a loud voice glorifying God;

¹⁵L'un d'eux, se voyant guéri, revint sur ses pas, glorifiant Dieu à haute voix.

¹⁵ואחד מהם בראתו כי נרפא וישב וישבח את האלהים בקול גדול׃

¹⁶and he fell upon his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

¹⁶Il tomba sur sa face aux pieds de Jésus, et lui rendit grâces. C'était un Samaritain.

¹⁶ויפל על פניו לרגליו ויודה לו והוא היה שמרוני׃

¹⁷And Jesus answering said, Were not the ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

¹⁷Jésus, prenant la parole, dit: Les dix n'ont-ils pas été guéris? Et les neuf autres, où sont-ils?

¹⁷ויען ישוע ויאמר הלא העשרה טהרו והתשעה איה הם׃

¹⁸Were there none found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger?

¹⁸Ne s'est-il trouvé que cet étranger pour revenir et donner gloire à Dieu?

¹⁸האם לא נמצא אשר שב לתת כבוד לאלהים זולתי הנכרי הזה׃

¹⁹And he said unto him, Arise, and go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

¹⁹Puis il lui dit: Lève-toi, va; ta foi t'a sauvé.

¹⁹ויאמר אליו קום ולך אמונתך הושיעה לך׃

²⁰And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God cometh, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

²⁰Les pharisiens demandèrent à Jésus quand viendrait le royaume de Dieu. Il leur répondit: Le royaume de Dieu ne vient pas de manière à frapper les regards.

²⁰וישאלהו הפרושים מתי תבוא מלכות האלהים ויען אתם לאמר מלכות האלהים לא תבוא במראה עינים׃

²¹neither shall they say, Lo, here! or, There! for lo, the kingdom of God is within you.

²¹On ne dira point: Il est ici, ou: Il est là. Car voici, le royaume de Dieu est au milieu de vous.

²¹ולא יאמרו הנה פה או הנה שם כי מלכות האלהים הנה בקרבכם היא׃

²²And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.

²²Et il dit aux disciples: Des jours viendront où vous désirerez voir l'un des jours du Fils de l'homme, et vous ne le verrez point.

²²ויאמר אל התלמידים ימים באים והתאויתם לראות יום אחד מימי בן האדם ולא תראו׃

²³And they shall say to you, Lo, there! Lo, here! go not away, nor follow after [them]:

²³On vous dira: Il est ici, il est là. N'y allez pas, ne courez pas après.

²³ואם יאמרו אליכם הנה שם הנה פה אל תלכו ואל תרוצו אחריהם׃

²⁴for as the lightning, when it lighteneth out of the one part under the heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall the Son of man be in his day.

²⁴Car, comme l'éclair resplendit et brille d'une extrémité du ciel à l'autre, ainsi sera le Fils de l'homme en son jour.

²⁴כי כברק אשר יברק מקצה השמים ויאיר עד קצה השמים כן יהיה בן האדם ביומו׃

²⁵But first must he suffer many things and be rejected of this generation.

²⁵Mais il faut auparavant qu'il souffre beaucoup, et qu'il soit rejeté par cette génération.

²⁵אך בראשונה צריך הוא לסבל הרבה ולהמאס מן הדור הזה׃

²⁶And as it came to pass in the days of Noah, even so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

²⁶Ce qui arriva du temps de Noé arrivera de même aux jours du Fils de l'homme.

²⁶וכאשר היה נח כן יהיה בימי בן האדם׃

²⁷They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

²⁷Les hommes mangeaient, buvaient, se mariaient et mariaient leurs enfants, jusqu'au jour où Noé entra dans l'arche; le déluge vint, et les fit tous périr.

²⁷אכלו ושתו נשאו נשים והשיאו נשים לאנשים עד היום אשר בא נח אל התבה ויבא המבול וישחת את כלם׃

²⁸Likewise even as it came to pass in the days of Lot; they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

²⁸Ce qui arriva du temps de Lot arrivera pareillement. Les hommes mangeaient, buvaient, achetaient, vendaient, plantaient, bâtissaient;

²⁸וכאשר היה בימי לוט אכל ושתה קנה ומכר נטע ובנה׃

²⁹but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all:

²⁹mais le jour où Lot sortit de Sodome, une pluie de feu et de soufre tomba du ciel, et les fit tous périr.

²⁹ויהי ביום אשר יצא לוט מסדום וימטר אש וגפרית מן השמים וישחת את כלם׃

³⁰after the same manner shall it be in the day that the Son of man is revealed.

³⁰Il en sera de même le jour où le Fils de l'homme paraîtra.

³⁰ככה יהיה ביום אשר יגלה בן האדם׃

³¹In that day, he that shall be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and let him that is in the field likewise not return back.

³¹En ce jour-là, que celui qui sera sur le toit, et qui aura ses effets dans la maison, ne descende pas pour les prendre; et que celui qui sera dans les champs ne retourne pas non plus en arrière.

³¹ביום ההוא איש אשר יהיה על הגג וכליו בבית אל ירד לשאת אתם ואיש אשר בשדה אל ישב הביתה׃

³²Remember Lot's wife.

³²Souvenez-vous de la femme de Lot.

³²זכרו את אשת לוט׃

³³Whosoever shall seek to gain his life shall lose it: but whosoever shall lose [his life] shall preserve it.

³³Celui qui cherchera à sauver sa vie la perdra, et celui qui la perdra la retrouvera.

³³המבקש למלט את נפשו יאבדנה ואשר יאבד אתה יהיה׃

³⁴I say unto you, In that night there shall be two men on one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

³⁴Je vous le dis, en cette nuit-là, de deux personnes qui seront dans un même lit, l'une sera prise et l'autre laissée;

³⁴אני אמר לכם בלילה ההוא שנים יהיו במטה אחת האחד יאסף והאחר יעזב׃

³⁵There shall be two women grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

³⁵de deux femmes qui moudront ensemble, l'une sera prise et l'autre laissée.

³⁵שתים תהיינה טחנות יחד האחת תאסף והאחרת תעזב׃

³⁶[There shall be two men in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.]

³⁶De deux hommes qui seront dans un champ, l'un sera pris et l'autre laissé.

³⁶שנים יהיו בשדה ונאסף האחד והאחר יעזב׃

³⁷And they answering say unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Where the body [is], thither will the eagles also be gathered together.

³⁷Les disciples lui dirent: Où sera-ce, Seigneur? Et il répondit: Où sera le corps, là s'assembleront les aigles.

³⁷ויענו ויאמרו אליו איה זאת אדנינו ויאמר אליהם באשר הפגר שם יקבצו הנשרים׃
