¹למנצח משכיל לבני קרח כאיל תערג על אפיקי מים כן נפשי תערג אליך אלהים׃

²My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: When shall I come and appear before God?

²Mon âme a soif de Dieu, du Dieu vivant: Quand irai-je et paraîtrai-je devant la face de Dieu?

²צמאה נפשי לאלהים לאל חי מתי אבוא ואראה פני אלהים׃

³My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?

³Mes larmes sont ma nourriture jour et nuit, Pendant qu'on me dit sans cesse: Où est ton Dieu?

³היתה לי דמעתי לחם יומם ולילה באמר אלי כל היום איה אלהיך׃

⁴These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me, How I went with the throng, and led them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping holyday.

⁴Je me rappelle avec effusion de coeur Quand je marchais entouré de la foule, Et que je m'avançais à sa tête vers la maison de Dieu, Au milieu des cris de joie et des actions de grâces D'une multitude en fête.

⁴אלה אזכרה ואשפכה עלי נפשי כי אעבר בסך אדדם עד בית אלהים בקול רנה ותודה המון חוגג׃

⁵Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And [why] art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him [For] the help of his countenance.

⁵Pourquoi t'abats-tu, mon âme, et gémis-tu au dedans de moi? Espère en Dieu, car je le louerai encore; Il est mon salut et mon Dieu.

⁵מה תשתוחחי נפשי ותהמי עלי הוחילי לאלהים כי עוד אודנו ישועות פניו׃

⁶O my God, my soul is cast down within me: Therefore do I remember thee from the land of the Jordan, And the Hermons, from the hill Mizar.

⁶Mon âme est abattue au dedans de moi: Aussi c'est à toi que je pense, depuis le pays du Jourdain, Depuis l'Hermon, depuis la montagne de Mitsear.

⁶אלהי עלי נפשי תשתוחח על כן אזכרך מארץ ירדן וחרמונים מהר מצער׃

⁷Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterfalls: All thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

⁷Un flot appelle un autre flot au bruit de tes ondées; Toutes tes vagues et tous tes flots passent sur moi.

⁷תהום אל תהום קורא לקול צנוריך כל משבריך וגליך עלי עברו׃

⁸[Yet] Jehovah will command his lovingkindness in the day-time; And in the night his song shall be with me, [Even] a prayer unto the God of my life.

⁸Le jour, l'Eternel m'accordait sa grâce; La nuit, je chantais ses louanges, J'adressais une prière au Dieu de ma vie.

⁸יומם יצוה יהוה חסדו ובלילה שירה עמי תפלה לאל חיי׃

⁹I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

⁹Je dis à Dieu, mon rocher: Pourquoi m'oublies-tu? Pourquoi dois-je marcher dans la tristesse, Sous l'oppression de l'ennemi?

⁹אומרה לאל סלעי למה שכחתני למה קדר אלך בלחץ אויב׃

¹⁰As with a sword in my bones, mine adversaries reproach me, While they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?

¹⁰Mes os se brisent quand mes persécuteurs m'outragent, En me disant sans cesse: Où est ton Dieu?

¹⁰ברצח בעצמותי חרפוני צוררי באמרם אלי כל היום איה אלהיך׃

¹¹Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him, [Who is] the help of my countenance, and my God.
