¹The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show unto his servants, [even] the things which must shortly come to pass: and he sent and signified [it] by his angel unto his servant John;

¹Révélation de Jésus-Christ, que Dieu lui a donnée pour montrer à ses serviteurs les choses qui doivent arriver bientôt, et qu'il a fait connaître, par l'envoi de son ange, à son serviteur Jean,

¹חזון ישוע המשיח אשר נתן לו האלהים להראות את עבדיו את אשר היה יהיה במהרה והוא הודיע בשלחו ביד מלאכו לעבדו יוחנן׃

²who bare witness of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, [even] of all things that he saw.

²lequel a attesté la parole de Dieu et le témoignage de Jésus-Christ, tout ce qu'il a vu.

²אשר העיד דבר האלהים ועדות ישוע המשיח ואת כל אשר ראה׃

³Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written therein: for the time is at hand.

³Heureux celui qui lit et ceux qui entendent les paroles de la prophétie, et qui gardent les choses qui y sont écrites! Car le temps est proche.

³אשרי הקורא ואשרי השמעים את דברי הנבואה ושמרים את אשר כתוב בה כי קרובה העת׃

⁴John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from him who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits that are before his throne;

⁴Jean aux sept Eglises qui sont en Asie: que la grâce et la paix vous soient données de la part de celui qui est, qui était, et qui vient, et de la part des sept esprits qui sont devant son trône,

⁴יוחנן אל שבע הקהלות אשר באסיא חסד לכם ושלום מאת ההוה והיה ויבוא ומן שבעת הרוחות אשר לפני כסאו׃

⁵and from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loveth us, and loosed us from our sins by his blood;

⁵et de la part de Jésus-Christ, le témoin fidèle, le premier-né des morts, et le prince des rois de la terre! A celui qui nous aime, qui nous a délivrés de nos péchés par son sang,

⁵ומאת ישוע המשיח העד הנאמן ובכור מן המתים ועליון למלכי ארץ לו אשר אהב אתנו ובדמו גאלנו מחטאתינו׃

⁶and he made us [to be] a kingdom, [to be] priests unto his God and Father; to him [be] the glory and the dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

⁶et qui a fait de nous un royaume, des sacrificateurs pour Dieu son Père, à lui soient la gloire et la puissance, aux siècles des siècles! Amen!

⁶ויעש אתנו למלכים וכהנים לאלהים אביו הכבוד והעז לעולמי עולמים אמן׃

⁷Behold, he cometh with the clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they that pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth shall mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

⁷Voici, il vient avec les nuées. Et tout oeil le verra, même ceux qui l'ont percé; et toutes les tribus de la terre se lamenteront à cause de lui. Oui. Amen!

⁷הנה הוא בא עם העננים וראתה אתו כל עין גם אלה אשר דקרהו וספדו עליו כל משפחות הארץ כן יהיה אמן׃

⁸I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

⁸Je suis l'alpha et l'oméga, dit le Seigneur Dieu, celui qui est, qui était, et qui vient, le Tout-Puissant.

⁸אני האלף ואני התו ראש וסוף נאם יהוה אלהים ההוה והיה ויבוא אלהי צבאות׃

⁹I John, your brother and partaker with you in tribulation and kingdom and patience [which are] in Jesus, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

⁹Moi Jean, votre frère, et qui ai part avec vous à la tribulation et au royaume et à la persévérance en Jésus, j'étais dans l'île appelée Patmos, à cause de la parole de Dieu et du témoignage de Jésus.

⁹אני יוחנן אחיכם וגם חבר לכם בלחץ ובמלכות ובסבלנות למען ישוע המשיח הייתי באי אשר שמו פטמוס בעבור דבר האלהים ובעבור עדות ישוע המשיח׃

¹⁰I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet

¹⁰Je fus ravi en esprit au jour du Seigneur, et j'entendis derrière moi une voix forte, comme le son d'une trompette,

¹⁰ואהי ברוח ביום האדון ואשמע אחרי קול גדול כקול שופר׃

¹¹saying, What thou seest, write in a book and send [it] to the seven churches: unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamum, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

¹¹qui disait: Ce que tu vois, écris-le dans un livre, et envoie-le aux sept Eglises, à Ephèse, à Smyrne, à Pergame, à Thyatire, à Sardes, à Philadelphie, et à Laodicée.

¹¹ויאמר אני האלף ואני התו הראשון והאחרון ואת אשר אתה ראה כתב אל ספר ושלחהו אל הקהלות אשר באסיא לאפסוס ולזמירנא ולפרגמוס ולתיאטירא ולסרדיס ולפילדפיא וללודקיא׃

¹²And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And having turned I saw seven golden candlesticks;

¹²Je me retournai pour connaître quelle était la voix qui me parlait. Et, après m'être retourné, je vis sept chandeliers d'or,

¹²ואפן לראות את הקול המדבר אלי ויהי בפנותי וארא שבע מנרות זהב׃

¹³and in the midst of the candlesticks one like unto a son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about at the breasts with a golden girdle.

¹³et, au milieu des sept chandeliers, quelqu'un qui ressemblait à un fils d'homme, vêtu d'une longue robe, et ayant une ceinture d'or sur la poitrine.

¹³ובתוך שבע המנרות דמות בן אדם לבוש מעיל וחגור אזור זהב על לבו׃

¹⁴And his head and his hair were white as white wool, [white] as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

¹⁴Sa tête et ses cheveux étaient blancs comme de la laine blanche, comme de la neige; ses yeux étaient comme une flamme de feu;

¹⁴וראשו ושערו לבנים כצמר צחר כשלג ועיניו כלבת אש׃

¹⁵and his feet like unto burnished brass, as if it had been refined in a furnace; and his voice as the voice of many waters.

¹⁵ses pieds étaient semblables à de l'airain ardent, comme s'il eût été embrasé dans une fournaise; et sa voix était comme le bruit de grandes eaux.

¹⁵ומרגלתיו כעין נחשת קלל כצרופות בכור וקולו כקול מים רבים׃

¹⁶And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

¹⁶Il avait dans sa main droite sept étoiles. De sa bouche sortait une épée aiguë, à deux tranchants; et son visage était comme le soleil lorsqu'il brille dans sa force.

¹⁶ויהי לו ביד ימינו שבעה כוכבים ומפיו יוצאת חרב פיפיות חדה ופניו כשמש המאיר בגבורתו׃

¹⁷And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as one dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying, Fear not; I am the first and the last,

¹⁷Quand je le vis, je tombai à ses pieds comme mort. Il posa sur moi sa main droite en disant: Ne crains point! Je suis le premier et le dernier,

¹⁷וכראתי אותו ואפל לרגליו כמת וישת עלי יד ימינו ויאמר אל תירא אני הראשון והאחרון והחי׃

¹⁸and the Living one; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

¹⁸et le vivant. J'étais mort; et voici, je suis vivant aux siècles des siècles. Je tiens les clefs de la mort et du séjour des morts.

¹⁸ואהי מת והנני חי לעולמי עולמים אמן ובידי מפתחות שאול ומות׃

¹⁹Write therefore the things which thou sawest, and the things which are, and the things which shall come to pass hereafter;

¹⁹Ecris donc les choses que tu as vues, et celles qui sont, et celles qui doivent arriver après elles,

¹⁹ועתה כתב את אשר ראית ואשר נעשה עתה ואשר עתיד להיות אחרי כן׃

²⁰the mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks are seven churches.

²⁰le mystère des sept étoiles que tu as vues dans ma main droite, et des sept chandeliers d'or. Les sept étoiles sont les anges des sept Eglises, et les sept chandeliers sont les sept Eglises.

²⁰את סוד שבעת הכוכבים אשר ראית בימיני ואת שבע מנרות הזהב שבעת הכוכבים הם מלאכי שבע הקהלות ושבע המנרות אשר ראית שבע קהלות הנה׃
