¹To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, he that walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks:

¹Ecris à l'ange de l'Eglise d'Ephèse: Voici ce que dit celui qui tient les sept étoiles dans sa main droite, celui qui marche au milieu des sept chandeliers d'or:

¹אל מלאך קהל אפסוס כתב כה אמר האחז בימינו שבעת הכוכבים המתהלך בתוך שבע מנרות הזהב׃

²I know thy works, and thy toil and patience, and that thou canst not bear evil men, and didst try them that call themselves apostles, and they are not, and didst find them false;

²Je connais tes oeuvres, ton travail, et ta persévérance. Je sais que tu ne peux supporter les méchants; que tu as éprouvé ceux qui se disent apôtres et qui ne le sont pas, et que tu les as trouvés menteurs;

²ידעתי את מעשיך ואת עמלך ואת סבלך וכי לא תוכל שאת את הרשעים ותנסה את האמרים שליחים אנחנו ואינם ותמצאם כזבים׃

³and thou hast patience and didst bear for my name's sake, and hast not grown weary.

³que tu as de la persévérance, que tu as souffert à cause de mon nom, et que tu ne t'es point lassé.

³ואתה נשאת הרבה ויש לך סבלנות ולמען שמי לא יעפת׃

⁴But I have [this] against thee, that thou didst leave thy first love.

⁴Mais ce que j'ai contre toi, c'est que tu as abandonné ton premier amour.

⁴אך יש לי עליך כי עזבת את אהבתך הראשונה׃

⁵Remember therefore whence thou art fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I come to thee, and will move thy candlestick out of its place, except thou repent.

⁵Souviens-toi donc d'où tu es tombé, repens-toi, et pratique tes premières oeuvres; sinon, je viendrai à toi, et j'ôterai ton chandelier de sa place, à moins que tu ne te repentes.

⁵זכר אפוא אי מזה נפלת ושובה ועשה מעשיך הראשנים ואם לא הנני בא עליך מהר ונסחתי מנורתך ממקומה אם לא תשוב׃

⁶But this thou hast, that thou hatest the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

⁶Tu as pourtant ceci, c'est que tu hais les oeuvres des Nicolaïtes, oeuvres que je hais aussi.

⁶אבל זאת היא לך כי תשנא את מעשי הניקלסיים אשר שנאתים גם אני׃

⁷He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. To him that overcometh, to him will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.

⁷Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises: A celui qui vaincra je donnerai à manger de l'arbre de vie, qui est dans le paradis de Dieu.

⁷מי אשר אזן לו ישמע את אשר הרוח אמר לקהלות המנצח אתן לו לאכל מעץ החיים אשר בתוך גן עדן לאלהים׃

⁸And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These things saith the first and the last, who was dead, and lived [again]:

⁸Ecris à l'ange de l'Eglise de Smyrne: Voici ce que dit le premier et le dernier, celui qui était mort, et qui est revenu à la vie:

⁸ואל מלאך קהל זמירנא כתב כה אמר הראשון והאחרון אשר מת ויחי׃

⁹I know thy tribulation, and thy poverty (but thou art rich), and the blasphemy of them that say they are Jews, and they art not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

⁹Je connais ta tribulation et ta pauvreté bien que tu sois riche, et les calomnies de la part de ceux qui se disent Juifs et ne le sont pas, mais qui sont une synagogue de Satan.

⁹ידעתי את מעשיך ואת צרתך ואת רישך ואולם עשיר אתה ואת גדוף האמרים יהודים אנחנו ואינם כי אם כנסית השטן׃

¹⁰Fear not the things which thou art about to suffer: behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.

¹⁰Ne crains pas ce que tu vas souffrir. Voici, le diable jettera quelques-uns de vous en prison, afin que vous soyez éprouvés, et vous aurez une tribulation de dix jours. Sois fidèle jusqu'à la mort, et je te donnerai la couronne de vie.

¹⁰אל תירא את אשר עליך לסבל הנה עתיד המלשין להשליך מכם לבית המשמר למען תנסו והייתם בצרה עשרת ימים היה נאמן עד מות ואתנה לך עטרת החיים׃

¹¹He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

¹¹Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises: Celui qui vaincra n'aura pas à souffrir la seconde mort.

¹¹מי אשר אזן לו ישמע את אשר הרוח אמר לקהלות המנצח לא ינזק במות השני׃

¹²and to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: These things saith he that hath the sharp two-edged sword:

¹²Ecris à l'ange de l'Eglise de Pergame: Voici ce que dit celui qui a l'épée aiguë, à deux tranchants:

¹²ואל מלאך קהל פרגמוס כתב כה אמר אשר לו חרב פיפיות החדה׃

¹³I know where thou dwellest, [even] where Satan's throne is; and thou holdest fast my name, and didst not deny my faith, even in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwelleth.

¹³Je sais où tu demeures, je sais que là est le trône de Satan. Tu retiens mon nom, et tu n'as pas renié ma foi, même aux jours d'Antipas, mon témoin fidèle, qui a été mis à mort chez vous, là où Satan a sa demeure.

¹³ידעתי את מעשיך ואת מקום שבתך אשר שם כסא השטן ותדבק בשמי ולא שקרת באמונתי גם בימי אנטיפס עדי הנאמן אשר נהרג אצלכם מקום מושב השטן׃

¹⁴But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there some that hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.

¹⁴Mais j'ai quelque chose contre toi, c'est que tu as là des gens attachés à la doctrine de Balaam, qui enseignait à Balak à mettre une pierre d'achoppement devant les fils d'Israël, pour qu'ils mangeassent des viandes sacrifiées aux idoles et qu'ils se livrassent à l'impudicité.

¹⁴אך מעט יש לי עליך כי שם עמך אנשים דבקים בתורת בלעם אשר הורה את בלק לתת מכשול לפני בני ישראל לאכל מזבחי אלילים ולזנות׃

¹⁵So hast thou also some that hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans in like manner.

¹⁵De même, toi aussi, tu as des gens attachés pareillement à la doctrine des Nicolaïtes.

¹⁵כן נמצאו גם בך אנשים דבקים בתורת הניקלסיים אשר שנאתי׃

¹⁶Repent therefore; or else I come to thee quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword of my mouth.

¹⁶Repens-toi donc; sinon, je viendrai à toi bientôt, et je les combattrai avec l'épée de ma bouche.

¹⁶שובה ואם לא כי עתה אבוא עליך מהרה ונלחמתי בם בחרב פי׃

¹⁷He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. To him that overcometh, to him will I give of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written, which no one knoweth but he that receiveth it.

¹⁷Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises: A celui qui vaincra je donnerai de la manne cachée, et je lui donnerai un caillou blanc; et sur ce caillou est écrit un nom nouveau, que personne ne connaît, si ce n'est celui qui le reçoit.

¹⁷מי אשר אזן לו ישמע את אשר הרוח אמר לקהלות המנצח אאכילנו מן המן הגנוז ונתתי לו אבן לבנה ועל האבן מפתח שם חדש אשר לא ידענו איש זולתי המקבל׃

¹⁸And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like unto burnished brass:

¹⁸Ecris à l'ange de l'Eglise de Thyatire: Voici ce que dit le Fils de Dieu, celui qui a les yeux comme une flamme de feu, et dont les pieds sont semblables à de l'airain ardent:

¹⁸ואל מלאך קהל תיאטירא כתב כה אמר בן האלהים אשר עיניו כלבת אש ומרגלתיו כעין נחשת קלל׃

¹⁹I know thy works, and thy love and faith and ministry and patience, and that thy last works are more than the first.

¹⁹Je connais tes oeuvres, ton amour, ta foi, ton fidèle service, ta constance, et tes dernières oeuvres plus nombreuses que les premières.

¹⁹ידעתי את מעשיך ואהבתך ואמונתך ועבורתך וסבלך וכי מעשיך האחרונים רבים הם מן הראשנים׃

²⁰But I have [this] against thee, that thou sufferest the woman Jezebel, who calleth herself a prophetess; and she teacheth and seduceth my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.

²⁰Mais ce que j'ai contre toi, c'est que tu laisses la femme Jézabel, qui se dit prophétesse, enseigner et séduire mes serviteurs, pour qu'ils se livrent à l'impudicité et qu'ils mangent des viandes sacrifiées aux idoles.

²⁰אך מעט יש לי עליך כי תניח את האשה איזבל האמרת כי היא נביאה ללמד ולהתעות את עבדי לזנות ולאכל זבחי אלילים׃

²¹And I gave her time that she should repent; and she willeth not to repent of her fornication.

²¹Je lui ai donné du temps, afin qu'elle se repentît, et elle ne veut pas se repentir de son impudicité.

²¹ואתן לה זמן לשוב והיא מאנה לשוב מתזנותיה׃

²²Behold, I cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of her works.

²²Voici, je vais la jeter sur un lit, et envoyer une grande tribulation à ceux qui commettent adultère avec elle, à moins qu'ils ne se repentent de leurs oeuvres.

²²הנני מפיל אתה על מטה ואת המנאפים אתה בצרה גדולה אם לא ישובו ממעשיהם׃

²³And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto each one of you according to your works.

²³Je ferai mourir de mort ses enfants; et toutes les Eglises connaîtront que je suis celui qui sonde les reins et les coeurs, et je vous rendrai à chacun selon vos oeuvres.

²³והרגתי במות את בניה וידעו כל הקהלות כי אני חקר כליות ולב ונתתי לכם לכל איש כפרי מעלליו׃

²⁴But to you I say, to the rest that are in Thyatira, as many as have not this teaching, who know not the deep things of Satan, as they are wont to say; I cast upon you none other burden.

²⁴A vous, à tous les autres de Thyatire, qui ne reçoivent pas cette doctrine, et qui n'ont pas connu les profondeurs de Satan, comme ils les appellent, je vous dis: Je ne mets pas sur vous d'autre fardeau;

²⁴אבל אמר אני לכם ולשאר הנמצאים בתיאטירא כל אשר אין להם הלקח ההוא ולא ידעו את עמקות השטן כאשר הם מתהללים לא אשים עליכם משא אחר׃

²⁵Nevertheless that which ye have, hold fast till I come.

²⁵seulement, ce que vous avez, retenez-le jusqu'à ce que je vienne.

²⁵אפס מה שיש לכם החזיקו בו עד כי אבוא׃

²⁶And he that overcometh, and he that keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give authority over the nations:

²⁶A celui qui vaincra, et qui gardera jusqu'à la fin mes oeuvres, je donnerai autorité sur les nations.

²⁶והמנצח ושמר את מעשי עד עת קץ אתן לו שלטן על הגוים׃

²⁷and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to shivers; as I also have received of my Father:

²⁷Il les paîtra avec une verge de fer, comme on brise les vases d'argile, ainsi que moi-même j'en ai reçu le pouvoir de mon Père.

²⁷ורעם בשבט ברזל ככלי יוצר ינפצו כאשר קבלתי גם אנכי מאת אבי׃

²⁸and I will give him the morning star.

²⁸Et je lui donnerai l'étoile du matin.

²⁸ונתתי לו כוכב השחר׃

²⁹He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.

²⁹Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises!

²⁹מי אשר אזן לו ישמע את אשר הרוח אמר לקהלות׃
