1For the Chief Musician; after the manner of Jeduthan. A Psalm of David. My soul waiteth in silence for God only: From him [cometh] my salvation.
1¶ Ki te tino kaiwhakatangi, ki a Ierutonu. He himene na Rawiri. Ko te Atua anake taku e tatari nei: kei a ia te whakaoranga moku.
2He only is my rock and my salvation: [He is] my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved.
2Ko ia anake toku kohatu, toku whakaoranga, toku pa hoki, e kore e nui toku ngaueuetanga.
3How long will ye set upon a man, That ye may slay [him], all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
4They only consult to thrust him down from his dignity; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah
4Heoi ano ta ratou e runanga ai ko te turaki i a ia i tona wahi teitei: e ahuareka ana ki te teka; e manaaki ana o ratou mangai, a e kanga ana a roto i a ratou. (Hera.
5My soul, wait thou in silence for God only; For my expectation is from him.
6He only is my rock and my salvation: [He is] my high tower; I shall not be moved.
6Ko ia anake toku kohatu, toku whakaoranga, toku pa hoki; e kore ahau e whakangaueuetia.
7With God is my salvation and my glory: The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
7Kei te Atua te whakaoranga moku, te kororia ano moku; kei te Atua te kohatu o toku kaha, toku piringa.
8Trust in him at all times, ye people; Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah
9Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: In the balances they will go up; They are together lighter than vanity.
9He pono he mea memeha noa nga ware, he teka noa nga rangatira; ki te paunatia ratou, mama noa ake ratou tahi i te horihori.
10Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery: If riches increase, set not your heart [thereon].
11God hath spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongeth unto God.
11Kotahi korerotanga a te Atua, ka rua oku rongonga i tenei, no te Atua te kaha.
12Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth lovingkindness; For thou renderest to every man according to his work.
