1For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint: Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
1देवा, माझे ऐक, माझ्या शत्रूंनी मला घाबरविले आहे. त्यांच्यापासून मला वाचव.
2Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, From the tumult of the workers of iniquity;
2माझे माझ्या शत्रूंच्या गुप्त योजनांपासून रक्षण कर. त्या दुष्ट लोकांपासून मला लपव.
3Who have whet their tongue like a sword, And have aimed their arrows, even bitter words,
3त्यांनी माझ्याबद्दल अगदी वाईट खोटं सांगितलं आहे. त्यांच्या जिभा धारदार तलवारी सारख्या आहेत. त्यांचे कटू शब्द बाणाप्रमाणे आहेत.
4That they may shoot in secret places at the perfect: Suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
4ते लपून बसतात आणि त्यांचे बाण एका साध्याभोळ्या आणि प्रामाणिक माणसावर फेकतात.
5They encourage themselves in an evil purpose; They commune of laying snares privily; They say, Who will see them?
5वाईट करण्यासाठी ते एकमेकांना प्रोत्साहन देतात व सापळे रचण्याबाबत चर्चा करतात. “आपले सापळे कोणीही बघणार नाही” असे ते एकमेकांना सांगतात.
6They search out iniquities; We have accomplished, [say they], a diligent search: And the inward thought and the heart of every one is deep.
6लोक अतिशय कुटिल असू शकतात. लोक काय विचार करतात ते कळणे अवघड आहे.
7But God will shoot at them; With an arrow suddenly shall they be wounded.
7परंतु देवदेखील त्याचे “बाण” मारु शकतो आणि त्यांना काही कळण्या आधीच वाईट लोक जखमी होतात.
8So they shall be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them: All that see them shall wag the head.
8वाईट लोक इतर लोकांना त्रासदायक गोष्टी करण्याच्या योजना आखतात. परंतु देव त्यांच्या योजना निष्फळ बनवतो आणि त्या त्रासदायक गोष्टी त्यांच्याच वाट्याला येतील असे करतो. आणि नंतर जो कोणी त्यांना पाहातो तो मस्तक विस्मयाने हलवतो.
9And all men shall fear; And they shall declare the work of God, And shall wisely consider of his doing.
9देवाने काय केले ते लोक पाहातील. ते इतरांना देवाबद्दल सांगतील, त्यामुळे सगळ्यांना देवाबद्दल अधिक काही कळेल आणि त्याला आदर देण्याचे ही त्यांना कळेल.
10The righteous shall be glad in Jehovah, and shall take refuge in him; And all the upright in heart shall glory.
10परमेश्वराची सेवा करण्यास चांगल्या व्याक्तिला आनंद वाटतो. तो देवावर विसंबून राहातो. चांगल्या प्रामाणिक लोकांनी हे पाहिल्यावर ते देवावर विश्वास ठेवतात.
