1A [good] name is rather to be chosen than great riches, [And] loving favor rather than silver and gold.
1ကောင်းသောအသရေကို များစွာသော ဥစ္စာ ထက်သာ၍ ရွေးစရာကောင်း၏။ သူတပါးစုံမက်ခြင်း ကျေးဇူးသည် ရွှေငွေထက်သာ၍ ကောင်း၏။
2The rich and the poor meet together: Jehovah is the maker of them all.
2ငွေရတတ်သောသူနှင့် ဆင်းရဲသောသူတို့သည် တွေ့ကြံကြ၏။ ထိုသူအပေါင်းတို့ကို ထာဝရဘုရား ဖန်ဆင်းတော်မူ၏။
3A prudent man seeth the evil, and hideth himself; But the simple pass on, and suffer for it.
3သမ္မာသတိရှိသောသူသည် အမှုကိုမြော်မြင်၍ ပုန်းနေတတ်၏။ ဥာဏ်တိမ်သောသူမူကား၊ အစဉ် အတိုင်းသွား၍ အမှုနှင့်တွေ့တတ်၏။
4The reward of humility [and] the fear of Jehovah [Is] riches, and honor, and life.
4စိတ်နှိမ့်ချခြင်း၊ ထာဝရဘုရားကို ကြောက်ရွံ့ ခြင်းကျေးဇူးကြောင့် စည်းစိမ်၊ ဂုဏ်အသရေ၊ အသက်ကို ရတတ်၏။
5Thorns [and] snares are in the way of the perverse: He that keepeth his soul shall be far from them.
5သဘောကောက်သောလူ သွားရာလမ်း၌၊ ဆူး ပင်များနှင့် ကျော့ကွင်းများရှိတတ်၏။ မိမိစိတ်ဝိညာဉ်ကို စောင့်ရှောက်သောသူမူကား ဝေးစွာ ရှောင်သွားလိမ့်မည်။
6Train up a child in the way he should go, And even when he is old he will not depart from it.
6သူငယ်သွားရာလမ်းဝ၌ ဆုံးမသွန်သင်လော့။ သို့ပြုလျှင် သူသည်အိုသောအခါ ထိုလမ်းမှမလွှဲ၊ လိုက် သွားလိမ့်မည်။
7The rich ruleth over the poor; And the borrower is servant to the lender.
7ငွေရတတ်သော သူသည်ဆင်းရဲသောသူကို အစိုးရ၏။ ချေးငှါးယူသော သူသည်ချေးငှါးပေးသောသူ၌ ကျွန်ဖြစ်၏။
8He that soweth iniquity shall reap calamity; And the rod of his wrath shall fail.
8ဒုစရိုက်မျိုးစေ့ကို ကြဲသောသူသည် ဒုက္ခစပါးကို ရိတ်ရမည်။ ဒေါသစိတ်ရှိ၍ ဒဏ်ပေးနိုင်သော တန်ခိုး လည်း ပျောက်လိမ့်မည်။
9He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; For he giveth of his bread to the poor.
9ကရုဏာမျက်စိရှိသောသူသည် ဆင်းရဲသော သူတို့ကိုကျွေးသောကြောင့် မင်္ဂလာရှိလိမ့်မည်။ ရန်တွေ့ ခြင်းနှင့်ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်းလည်း ငြိမ်းလိမ့်မည်။
10Cast out the scoffer, and contention will go out; Yea, strife and ignominy will cease.
10မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုသောသူကိုနှင်ထုတ်လော့။ သို့ပြု လျှင် ရန်မာန်လည်း ထွက်သွားလိမ့်မည်။ ရန်တွေ့ခြင်းနှင့် ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်းလည်း ငြိမ်းလိမ့်မည်။
11He that loveth pureness of heart, [For] the grace of his lips the king will be his friend.
11စိတ်နှလုံးဖြူစင်ခြင်းကို နှစ်သက်သောသူသည် လျောက်ပတ်သောစကားကို ပြောတတ်၍၊ ရှင်ဘုရင်နှင့် မိတ်ဆွေဖွဲ့ရလိမ့်မည်။
12The eyes of Jehovah preserve [him that hath] knowledge; But he overthroweth the words of the treacherous man.
12ထာဝရဘုရား၏ မျက်စိတော်သည် ပညာ အတတ်ကို စောင့်၏။ ပြစ်မှားသောသူ၏စကားကိုကား ချေတော်မူ၏။
13The sluggard saith, There is a lion without: I shall be slain in the streets.
13ပျင်းရိသောသူက၊ အိမ်ပြင်မှာခြင်္သေ့ရှိ၏။ လမ်း သို့ ထွက်လျှင် ငါသေလိမ့်မည်ဟု ဆိုတတ်၏။
14The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: He that is abhorred of Jehovah shall fall therein.
14အမျိုးပျက်သော မိန်းမ၏နှုတ်သည် နက်သော မြေတွင်းဖြစ်၏။ ထာဝရဘုရားစက်ဆုပ်ရွံရှာတော်မူ သော သူသည်ထိုမြေတွင်းထဲသို့ ကျလိမ့်မည်။
15Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; [But] the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
15မိုက်သောသဘောသည် သူငယ်၏ စိတ်နှလုံး ထဲမှာ ထုပ်ထားလျက်ရှိ၏။ သို့သော်လည်း၊ ဆုံးမသော ကြိမ်လုံးသည် ထိုသဘောကို ဝေးစွာ နှင်တတ်၏။
16He that oppresseth the poor to increase his [gain], [And] he that giveth to the rich, [shall come] only to want.
16ကိုယ်စီးပွါးအဘို့ ဆင်းရဲသားတို့ကို ညှဉ်းဆဲ သောသူနှင့်၊ ငွေရတတ်သော သူတို့အား ပေးသောသူ သည် ဆင်းရဲခြင်းသို့ အမှန်ရောက်လိမ့်မည်။
17Incline thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, And apply thy heart unto my knowledge.
17သင်၏နားကိုညွှတ်၍ ပညာရှိစကားကို နား ထောင်လော့။ ငါ့ပညာအတတ်ကိုလည်း စိတ်နှလုံး၌ စွဲလမ်းလော့။
18For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee, If they be established together upon thy lips.
18သင်၏နှလုံး၌ သွင်းမိနိုင်လျှင် သာယာသော အကျိုးရှိလိမ့်မည်။ သင်၏နှုတ်၌လည်း အစဉ်အသင့်ရှိ လိမ့်မည်။
19That thy trust may be in Jehovah, I have made [them] known to thee this day, even to thee.
19သင်သည်ထာဝရဘုရား၌ ခိုလှုံမည်အကြောင်း၊ သင့်ကိုယ်တိုင် ကိုယနေ့ငါသွန်သင်၏။
20Have not I written unto thee excellent things Of counsels and knowledge,
20သင်သည် သမ္မာတရားစကားစစ်ကိုသိမည် အကြောင်းနှင့်၊ သင့်ထံသို့ စေလွှတ်သောသူတို့အား၊ သမ္မာ စကားကို ပြန်ပြောနိုင်မည်အကြောင်း သတိပေးလျက်၊ ပညာအတတ်ကို ပြသလျက်၊ ထူးဆန်းသော အရာတို့ကို ငါရေး၍ ပေးလိုက်သည်မဟုတ်လော။
21To make thee know the certainty of the words of truth, That thou mayest carry back words of truth to them that send thee?
22ဆင်းရဲသောသူ၏ဆင်းရဲကိုထောက်၍၊ သူ၏ ဥစ္စာကို မလုမယူနှင့်။ ဒုက္ခိတသတ္တဝါကို မြို့တံခါးဝ၌ မညှဉ်းဆဲနှင့်။
22Rob not the poor, because he is poor; Neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:
23အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သူတို့ အမှုကို စောင့်တော်မူမည်။ သူတို့ဥစ္စာကို လုယူသော သူတို့၏ အသက်ကို လုယူတော်မူမည်။
23For Jehovah will plead their cause, And despoil of life those that despoil them.
24စိတ်တိုသောသူကို မိတ်ဆွေမဖွဲ့နှင့်။ အမျက် ပြင်းထန်သော သူနှင့် အတူမလိုက်နှင့်။
24Make no friendship with a man that is given to anger; And with a wrathful man thou shalt not go:
25လိုက်လျှင် သူ၏ထုံးစံဓလေ့တို့ကိုသင်၍၊ ကိုယ် အသက်ကျော့မိရာဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။
25Lest thou learn this ways, And get a snare to thy soul.
26လက်ဝါးချင်းရိုက်သောလူစုနှင့် သူ့ကြွေးကို အာမခံသော လူစုထဲသို့ မဝင်နှင့်။ သင်၌ပေးရန်မရှိလျှင်၊ သင့်အိပ်ရာကို အဘယ်ကြောင့် ယူသွားစေချင်သနည်း။
26Be thou not one of them that strike hands, [Or] of them that are sureties for debts.
28ဘိုးဘေးစိုက်ဘူးသော မြေမှတ်တိုင်တို့ကို မရွှေ့ နှင့်။
27If thou hast not wherewith to pay, Why should he take away thy bed from under thee?
29ဆောင်ရွက်စရာအမှုကိုကြိုးစား၍ ပြီးစီးစေ တတ်သောသူရှိသလော။ ထိုသူသည် သာမညလူ၏ အမှုကို မဆောင်ရွက်၊ ရှင်ဘုရင်၏ အမှုတော်ကို ဆောင် ရွက်၏။
28Remove not the ancient landmark, Which thy fathers have set.
29Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; He shall not stand before mean men.
