1Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
1तब तेमानीका एलीपज बोले।
2If one assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
2“यदि मैले केही भने के तिमी रिसाउँदैनौ? जुन नभनी म रहन सक्तिनँ।
3Behold, thou hast instructed many, And thou hast strengthened the weak hands.
3अय्यूब तिमीले धेरैजना मानिसहरूलाई शिक्षा दियौ। तिमीले कमजोर हातहरूलाई बलवान बनायौ।
4Thy words have upholden him that was falling, And thou hast made firm the feeble knees.
4तिम्रो वचनहरूले मानिसहरूलाई मद्दत गर्यो जो पतन हुनलाई तयार थिए। तिमीले मानिसहरूलाई बल दियौ जो स्वयं उभिन सक्तैन थिए।
5But now it is come unto thee, and thou faintest; It toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.
5तर अहिले तिमीमाथि कष्टहरू आए अनि तिमी हतास भयौ। कष्टले तिमीलाई छुन्छ अनि तिमी हतास हुन्छौ।
6Is not thy fear [of God] thy confidence, [And] the integrity of thy ways thy hope?
6तिमीले परमेश्वरलाई आराधना गर्छौ। तिमीले उहाँमाथि भरोसा गर्दछौ। तिमी एकजना असल मानिस हौ। यसकारण ती तिम्रा आशा बनोस्।
7Remember, I pray thee, who [ever] perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?
7अय्यूब यस विषयमा सोचः निर्दोष मानिसहरू कहिल्यै पनि ध्वंश भएका छैनन्। असल मानिसहरू कहिल्यै ध्वंश हुँदैनन्।
8According as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, And sow trouble, reap the same.
8मैले कतिपय संकटकारीहरूलाई देखेको छु अनि तिनीहरू जसले जीवन कष्टमय पार्दछ। तर तिनीहरू नै सँधै दण्डित हुन्छन्।
9By the breath of God they perish, And by the blast of his anger are they consumed.
9परमेश्वरको सरापले ती मानिसहरूलाई मार्दछ। परमेश्वरको क्रोधको रापले तिनीहरू नाश हुँदछन्।
10The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, And the teeth of the young lions, are broken.
10दुष्ट मानिसहरू सिंहहरू जस्तै गर्जन्छन र र्झकिन्छन्। तर परमेश्वरले ती दुष्ट मानिसहरूलाई तहमा ल्याउनु हुन्छ अनि तिनीहरूका दाँतहरू भाँचिदिनु हुन्छ।
11The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, And the whelps of the lioness are scattered abroad.
11हो, ती दुष्ट मानिसहरू सिंहहरू जस्तै हुन्छन जसले शिकार मार्नलाई भेट्दैनन्। तिनीहरू मर्छन अनि तिनीहरूका डम्मरूहरू छरपष्ट हुन्छन्।
12Now a thing was secretly brought to me, And mine ear received a whisper thereof.
12गुप्तरूपमा एउटा खबर मकहाँ ल्याइयो। मेरो कानहरूले त्यसका कानेखुसी पक्रिए।
13In thoughts from the visions of the night, When deep sleep falleth on men,
13मेरो रातको सपनाहरू बीचमा मानिसहरू निद्रामा हुन्छन्,
14Fear came upon me, and trembling, Which made all my bones to shake.
14म त्रासित भएँ, अनि कामें। मेरो सबै हाडहरू कामे।
15Then a spirit passed before my face; The hair of my flesh stood up.
15एउटा मन्द हावाले मेरो अनुहारलाई छोएर गयो। मेरा शरीरको रौं ठाडो भए।
16It stood still, but I could not discern the appearance thereof; A form was before mine eyes: [There was] silence, and I heard a voice, [saying],
16त्यो आत्मा त्यहाँ उभियो, तर त्यो के थियो मैले देख्न सकिनँ। एउटा आकार मेरो आँखाको सामने उभियो, अनि त्यहाँ चकमन्न भयो, तब मैले एउटा अत्यन्त मधुर स्वर सुनें :
17Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?
17एकजना मानिस परमेश्वर भन्दा धर्मी हुन सक्तैन। मानिस आफ्नो सृष्टिकर्ता भन्दा पवित्र हुन सक्तैन।
18Behold, he putteth no trust in his servants; And his angels he chargeth with folly:
18हेर, परमेश्वरले आफ्नैं स्वर्गीय सेनाहरूमाथि पनि भरोसा राख्न सक्नुहुन्न। परमेश्वरले आफ्ना स्वर्ग दूतहरूका समस्याहरू देख्नुहुन्छ।
19How much more them that dwell in houses of clay, Whose foundation is in the dust, Who are crushed before the moth!
19यसकारण मानिसहरू निश्चय नै खराब हुन्छन्। मानिसहरू माटाको घरमा बस्दछन। ती माटाका घरहरूको जग फोहरमा हुन्छ। कीरा फटेङ्ग्राहरू भन्दा तिनीहरू सजिलै किच्चिएर मर्छन्।
20Betwixt morning and evening they are destroyed: They perish for ever without any regarding it.
20मानिसहरू विहानदेखि बेलुकीसम्म मर्छन् अनि कसैलाई पनि थाहा हुँदैन। तिनीहरू मर्छन् र सदाको लागि अल्पिन्छन्।
21Is not their tent-cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.
21यदि तिनीहरूको पालको डोरी तानियो भने मर्ने कारण थाहा नपाई तिनीहरू मर्ने छैनन् र?’
