¹A [Psalm] of David. I will give thee thanks with my whole heart: Before the gods will I sing praises unto thee.

²I will worship toward thy holy temple, And give thanks unto thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

²Jeg vil kaste mig ned foran ditt hellige tempel, og jeg vil prise ditt navn for din miskunnhets og din trofasthets skyld; for du har gjort ditt ord herlig, mere enn alt ditt navn.

³In the day that I called thou answeredst me, Thou didst encourage me with strength in my soul.

³Den dag jeg ropte, svarte du mig; du gjorde mig frimodig, i min sjel kom det styrke.

⁴All the kings of the earth shall give thee thanks, O Jehovah, For they have heard the words of thy mouth.

⁴Herre! Alle jordens konger skal prise dig når de får høre din munns ord.

⁵Yea, they shall sing of the ways of Jehovah; For great is the glory of Jehovah.

⁵Og de skal synge om Herrens veier; for Herrens ære er stor,

⁶For though Jehovah is high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly; But the haughty he knoweth from afar.

⁶for Herren er ophøiet, og han ser til den ringe, og den stolte kjenner han langt fra.

⁷Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me; Thou wilt stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of mine enemies, And thy right hand will save me.

⁷Om jeg vandrer midt i trengsel, holder du mig i live; mot mine fienders vrede rekker du ut din hånd, og du frelser mig ved din høire hånd.

⁸Jehovah will perfect that which concerneth me: Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, [endureth] for ever; Forsake not the works of thine own hands.

⁸Herren vil fullføre sin gjerning for mig. Herre, din miskunnhet varer evindelig; opgi ikke dine henders gjerninger!
