¹But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that aught be written unto you.

¹О временах же и сроках нет нужды писать к вам, братия,

²For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

²ибо сами вы достоверно знаете, что день Господень такпридет, как тать ночью.

³When they are saying, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall in no wise escape.

³Ибо, когда будут говорить: „мир ибезопасность", тогда внезапно постигнет их пагуба, подобно как мука родами постигает имеющую во чреве, и не избегнут.

⁴But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief:

⁴Но вы, братия, не во тьме, чтобы день застал вас, как тать.

⁵for ye are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness;

⁵Ибо все вы – сыны света и сыны дня: мы – не сыны ночи, ни тьмы.

⁶so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober.

⁶Итак, не будем спать, как и прочие, но будем бодрствовать и трезвиться.

⁷For they that sleep sleep in the night: and they that are drunken are drunken in the night.

⁷Ибо спящие спят ночью, и упивающиеся упиваются ночью.

⁸But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

⁸Мы же, будучи сынами дня, да трезвимся, облекшись в броню веры и любви и в шлем надежды спасения,

⁹For God appointed us not into wrath, but unto the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁹потому что Бог определил нас не на гнев, но к получению спасения через Господа нашего Иисуса Христа,

¹⁰who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

¹⁰умершего за нас, чтобы мы, бодрствуем ли, или спим, жили вместе с Ним.

¹¹Wherefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as also ye do.

¹¹Посему увещавайте друг друга и назидайте один другого, как вы и делаете.

¹²But we beseech you, brethren, to know them that labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

¹²Просим же вас, братия, уважать трудящихся у вас, и предстоятелей ваших в Господе, и вразумляющих вас,

¹³and to esteem them exceeding highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

¹³и почитать их преимущественно с любовью за дело их; будьте в мире между собою.

¹⁴And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be longsuffering toward all.

¹⁴Умоляем также вас, братия, вразумляйте бесчинных, утешайте малодушных, поддерживайте слабых, будьте долготерпеливы ко всем.

¹⁵See that none render unto any one evil for evil; but always follow after that which is good, one toward another, and toward all.

¹⁵Смотрите, чтобы кто кому не воздавал злом за зло; но всегда ищите добра и друг другу и всем.

¹⁶Rejoice always;

¹⁶Всегда радуйтесь.

¹⁷pray without ceasing;

¹⁷Непрестанно молитесь.

¹⁸in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward.

¹⁸За все благодарите: ибо такова о вас воля Божия во Христе Иисусе.

¹⁹Quench not the Spirit;

¹⁹Духа не угашайте.

²⁰despise not prophesyings;

²⁰Пророчества не уничижайте.

²¹prove all things; hold fast that which is good;

²¹Все испытывайте, хорошего держитесь.

²²abstain from every form of evil.

²²Удерживайтесь от всякого рода зла.

²³And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²³Сам же Бог мира да освятит вас во всей полноте, и ваш дух и душа и тело во всей целости да сохранится без порока впришествие Господа нашего Иисуса Христа.

²⁴Faithful is he that calleth you, who will also do it.

²⁴Верен Призывающий вас, Который и сотворит сие .

²⁵Brethren, pray for us.

²⁵Братия! молитесь о нас.

²⁶Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.

²⁶Приветствуйте всех братьев лобзанием святым.

²⁷I adjure you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the brethren.

²⁷Заклинаю вас Господом прочитать сие послание всемсвятым братиям.

²⁸The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

²⁸Благодать Господа нашего Иисуса Христа с вами. Аминь.
