¹Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as also [it is] with you;

¹Napokon, bratia, len sa modlite za nás, aby bežalo slovo Pánovo a bolo aj inde oslavované jako aj u vás,

²and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and evil men; for all have not faith.

²a aby sme boli vytrhnutí z moci premrštených a zlých ľudí. Lebo viera nie je vecou všetkých.

³But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and guard you from the evil [one].

³Ale Pán je verný, ktorý vás upevní a strážiac zachová od zlého.

⁴And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command.

⁴A dôverujeme v Pánovi o vás, že to, čo vám prikazujeme, aj robíte aj robiť budete.

⁵And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.

⁵A Pán nech ráči upraviť vaše srdcia k láske Božej a k trpezlivosti Kristovej.

⁶Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which they received of us.

⁶A prikazujeme vám, bratia, v mene nášho Pána Ježiša Krista, aby ste sa stránili každého brata, ktorý sa neriadne správa a nie podľa podania, ktoré dostal od nás.

⁷For yourselves know how ye ought to imitate us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;

⁷Lebo sami viete, jako nás treba nasledovať lebo sme sa nesprávali neriadne medzi vami

⁸neither did we eat bread for nought at any man's hand, but in labor and travail, working night and day, that we might not burden any of you:

⁸ani sme zadarmo od nikoho nejedli chleba, ale v práci a námahe pracujúc dňom i nocou, aby sme neboli nikomu z vás na ťarchu;

⁹not because we have not the right, but to make ourselves and ensample unto you, that ye should imitate us.

⁹nie, že by sme nemali práva na to, ale aby sme vám dali seba za príklad, aby ste nás nasledovali.

¹⁰For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, If any will not work, neither let him eat.

¹⁰Lebo aj keď sme boli u vás, to sme vám prikazovali, že ak niekto nechce pracovať, nech ani nejie.

¹¹For we hear of some that walk among you disorderly, that work not at all, but are busybodies.

¹¹Lebo čujeme, že sa niektorí neriadne správajú medzi vami; že nič nerobia, ale sa všetečne pletú do toho, do čoho im netreba.

¹²Now them that are such we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

¹²Takým prikazujeme a napomíname ich skrze nášho Pána Ježiša Krista, aby s tichosťou pracovali a tak jedli svoj vlastný chlieb.

¹³But ye, brethren, be not weary in well-doing.

¹³A vy, bratia, neustaňte robiac dobre.

¹⁴And if any man obeyeth not our word by this epistle, note that man, that ye have no company with him, to the end that he may be ashamed.

¹⁴Ale ak niekto neposlúcha nášho slova, podaného listom, toho si poznamenajte a nesdávať sa s ním, aby sa zahanbil,

¹⁵And [yet] count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

¹⁵a nepovažujte ho za nepriateľa, ale ho napomínajte ako brata.

¹⁶Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with you all.

¹⁶A on sám, Pán pokoja, nech vám ráči dať pokoj každého času každým spôsobom. Pán nech je so všetkými vami!

¹⁷The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.

¹⁷Pozdrav mojou vlastnou rukou Pavlovou, čo je znakom v každom liste; tak píšem.

¹⁸The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

¹⁸Milosť našeho Pána Ježiša Krista nech je so všetkými vami! Ameň.
