¹And he called unto him his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of disease and all manner of sickness.

¹A privolajúc si svojich dvanástich učeníkov dal im právo a moc nad nečistými duchmi, aby ich vyháňali a uzdravovali každý neduh a každú chorobu.

²Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother;

²A mená tých dvanástich apoštolov sú tieto: prvý Šimon, zvaný Peter, a Andrej, jeho brat, a Jakob Zebedeov a Ján, jeho brat.

³Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the [son] of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;

³Filip, Bartolomej, Tomáš, colný Matúš, Jakob Alfeov, Lebeus, ktorému bolo dané prímeno Taddeus,

⁴Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

⁴Šimon Kananitský a Judáš Iškariotský, ktorý ho i zradil.

⁵These twelve Jesus sent forth, and charged them, saying, Go not into [any] way of the Gentiles, and enter not into any city of the Samaritans:

⁵Týchto dvanástich poslal Ježiš a prikázal im: Na cestu pohanov neodídite a do mesta Samaritánov nevojdite;

⁶but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

⁶ale radšej iďte k ztrateným ovciam domu Izraelovho.

⁷And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

⁷Iďte a kážte hovoriac, že sa priblížilo nebeské kráľovstvo.

⁸Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: freely ye received, freely give.

⁸Nemocných uzdravujte, malomocných očisťujte, mŕtvych krieste, démonov vyháňajte; darmo ste dostali, darmo dajte.

⁹Get you no gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses;

⁹Neberte so sebou zlata ani striebra ani obecného kovu do svojich opaskov

¹⁰no wallet for [your] journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.

¹⁰ani kapsy na cestu ani po dvoje sukieň ani sandálov ani palice, lebo robotník je hoden svojho pokrmu.

¹¹And into whatsoever city or village ye shall enter, search out who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go forth.

¹¹A do ktoréhokoľvek mesta alebo mestečka vojdete, dopýtajte sa, kto by v ňom bol toho hodný; a tam zostaňte, dokiaľ nevyjdete.

¹²And as ye enter into the house, salute it.

¹²A vchádzajúc do domu pozdravte ho.

¹³And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

¹³A keď bude dom hodný, nech prijde naň váš pokoj; a keď nebude hodný, nech sa váš pokoj navráti k vám.

¹⁴And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, as ye go forth out of that house or that city, shake off the dust of your feet.

¹⁴A ktokoľvek by vás neprijal ani nepočul vašich slov, idúc z toho domu alebo z toho mesta vytraste prach svojich nôh.

¹⁵Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.

¹⁵Ameň vám hovorím, že znesiteľnejšie bude zemi Sodomänov a Gomoranov v deň súdu než tomu mestu.

¹⁶Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

¹⁶Hľa, ja vás posielam ako ovce medzi vlkov. Tedy buďte opatrní jako hadi a prostí jako holubi.

¹⁷But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in theirs synagogues they will scourge you;

¹⁷Vystríhajte sa ľudí, lebo vás budú vydávať staväjúc vás pred vysoké cirkevné rady a vo svojich synagógach vás budú bičovať,

¹⁸yea and before governors and kings shall ye be brought for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

¹⁸áno i pred vladárov i pred kráľov budete vodení pre mňa, na svedoctvo im aj pohanom.

¹⁹But when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that hour what ye shall speak.

¹⁹A keď vás vydajú, nestarajte sa o to, jako alebo čo by ste mali hovoriť. Lebo vám bude dané v tú hodinu, čo budete mať hovoriť.

²⁰For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you.

²⁰Lebo nie ste to vy, ktorí hovoríte, ale vašeho Otca Duch, ktorý hovorí vo vás.

²¹And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child: and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.

²¹Lebo brat brata vydá na smrť a otec dieťa, a povstanú deti na rodičov a usmrtia ich.

²²And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.

²²A budete nenávidení od všetkých pre moje meno, ale ten, kto zotrvá do konca, bude spasený.

²³But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone through the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

²³A keď vás budú prenasledovať v tomto meste, utečte do iného; lebo ameň vám hovorím, že nedokončíte miest Izraelových, dokiaľ neprijde Syn človeka.

²⁴A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.

²⁴Učeník nie je nad svojho učiteľa ani sluha nad svojho pána;

²⁵It is enough for the disciple that he be as his teacher, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household!

²⁵dosť je učeníkovi, aby bol ako jeho učiteľ, a sluha, aby bol ako jeho pán. Ak domáceho pána nazvali Belzebúbom, čím väčšmi jeho domácich!

²⁶Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

²⁶Teda nebojte sa ich! Lebo nič nie je skryté, čo by nemalo byť odkryté, ani tajné, čo by sa nemalo zvedieť.

²⁷What I tell you in the darkness, speak ye in the light; and what ye hear in the ear, proclaim upon the house-tops.

²⁷Čo vám hovorím vo tme, povedzte na svetle, a to, čo počujete v ucho, hlásajte na domoch.

²⁸And be not afraid of them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

²⁸A nebojte sa tých, ktorí vraždia telo a ktorí nemôžu zavraždiť dušu; ale sa radšej bojte toho, ktorý môže i dušu i telo zatratiť v pekle.

²⁹Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father:

²⁹Či sa nepredávajú dva vrabce za groš? Ale ani jeden z nich nepadne na zem bez vášho Otca.

³⁰but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

³⁰Ale vám sú ešte aj len všetky vlasy na hlave spočítané!

³¹Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

³¹Tedy nebojte sa, vy ste drahší nad mnoho vrabcov.

³²Every one therefore who shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven.

³²Každého tedy, kto mňa vyzná pred ľuďmi, vyznám i ja pred svojím Otcom, ktorý je v nebesiach.

³³But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.

³³A kto by mňa zaprel pred ľuďmi, toho i ja zapriem pred svojím Otcom, ktorý je v nebesiach.

³⁴Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

³⁴Nedomnievajte sa, že som prišiel dať pokoj na zem; neprišiel som dať pokoj, ale meč.

³⁵For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law:

³⁵Lebo som prišiel rozdeliť človeka proti jeho otcovi a dcéru proti jej materi a nevestu proti jej svokre,

³⁶and a man's foes [shall be] they of his own household.

³⁶a nepriateľmi človeka budú jeho domáci.

³⁷He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

³⁷Ten, kto má radšej otca alebo mater ako mňa, nie je ma hodný; a kto má radšej syna, alebo dcéru ako mňa, nie je ma hodný;

³⁸And he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.

³⁸a kto neberie svojho kríža a nejde za mnou, nie je ma hodný.

³⁹He that findeth his life shall lose it; and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

³⁹Kto najde svoju dušu, ztratí ju, a kto pre mňa ztratí svoju dušu, najde ju.

⁴⁰He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

⁴⁰Kto vás prijíma, mňa prijíma, a kto mňa prijíma, prijíma toho, ktorý ma poslal.

⁴¹He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward: and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

⁴¹Kto prijíma proroka v mene proroka, dostane odplatu proroka, a kto prijíma spravedlivého v mene spravedlivého, dostane odplatu spravedlivého.

⁴²And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you he shall in no wise lose his reward.

⁴²A ktokoľvek by napojil jedného z týchto malých čo len pohárom čerstvej vody, v mene učeníka, ameň vám hovorím, že neztratí svojej odplaty.
