¹Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called [to be] an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

¹Pavel, sluha Ježiša Krista, povolaný apoštol, oddelený k evanjeliu nášho Boha,

²which he promised afore through his prophets in the holy scriptures,

²ktoré vopred zasľúbil skrze svojich prorokov vo svätých písmach

³concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,

³o svojom Synovi, pošlom zo semena Dávidovho podľa tela

⁴who was declared [to be] the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead; [even] Jesus Christ our Lord,

⁴určenom Synovi Božom v moci podľa ducha svätosti zo zmŕtvychvstania mŕtvych, o Ježišu Kristovi, našom Pánovi,

⁵through whom we received grace and apostleship, unto obedience of faith among all the nations, for his name's sake;

⁵skrze ktorého sme dostali milosť a apoštolstvo cieľom poslušnosti viery medzi všetkými národami za jeho meno,

⁶among whom are ye also called [to be] Jesus Christ's:

⁶medzi ktorými ste aj vy, povolaní Ježiša Krista,

⁷To all that are in Rome, beloved of God, called [to be] saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁷všetkým, ktorí ste v Ríme, milovaným Božím povolaným svätým: milosť vám a pokoj od Boha, nášho Otca, a od Pána Ježiša Krista!

⁸First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world.

⁸Najprv ďakujem svojmu Bohu skrze Ježiša Krista za vás za všetkých, že vaša viera sa rozhlasuje po celom svete.

⁹For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you, always in my prayers

⁹Lebo mojím svedkom je Bôh, ktorému svätoslúžim vo svojom duchu v evanjeliu jeho Syna, jako sa neprestajne zmieňujem o vás

¹⁰making request, if by any means now at length I may be prospered by the will of God to come unto you.

¹⁰prosiac vždycky na svojich modlitbách, ak by sa mi už predsa raz nejako podarilo z vôle Božej prijsť k vám.

¹¹For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

¹¹Lebo túžim vás vidieť, aby som vám mohol udeliť nejaký duchovný dar milosti, aby ste boli upevnení,

¹²that is, that I with you may be comforted in you, each of us by the other's faith, both yours and mine.

¹²to jest, aby som bol spolu s vami potešený medzi vami skrze v nás obapolne sa nachodiacu, vašu i moju vieru.

¹³And I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you (and was hindered hitherto), that I might have some fruit in you also, even as in the rest of the Gentiles.

¹³A nechcem, bratia, aby ste nevedeli, že som si už mnoho ráz bol zaumienil, že prijdem k vám - a bolo mi vždy prekazené až doteraz -, aby som mal nejaký užitok aj medzi vami jako aj medzi ostatnými národami.

¹⁴I am debtor both to Greeks and to Barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish.

¹⁴Grékom i barbarom, múdrym i nerozumným som dlžníkom.

¹⁵So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you also that are in Rome.

¹⁵Takto tá vo mne ochota aj vám, ktorí ste v Ríme, zvestovať evanjelium.

¹⁶For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

¹⁶Lebo sa nehanbím za evanjelium Kristovo, lebo je mocou Božou na spasenie každému veriacemu, Židovi predne i Grékovi.

¹⁷For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live by faith.

¹⁷Lebo spravedlivosť Božia sa v ňom zjavuje z viery vo vieru, jako je napísané: Ale spravedlivý bude žiť z viery.

¹⁸For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hinder the truth in unrighteousness;

¹⁸Lebo hnev Boží sa zjavuje s neba na každú bezbožnosť a neprávosť ľudí, ktorí zadržujú pravdu neprávosťou,

¹⁹because that which is known of God is manifest in them; for God manifested it unto them.

¹⁹pretože to, čo sa môže vedieť o Bohu, je im zjavné, pretože im to Bôh zjavil.

²⁰For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, [even] his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse:

²⁰Lebo jeho, len smyslom duše pochopiteľné neviditeľnosti vidieť od stvorenia sveta po učinených veciach, totiž jeho večnú moc a jeho božstvo, aby boli bez výhovorky.

²¹because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks; but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened.

²¹Pretože poznajúc Boha neoslavovali ho jako Boha ani mu neďakovali, ale zmárniveli vo svojich myšlienkach, a zatemnilo sa ich nerozumné srdce,

²²Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

²²hovoriac o sebe, že sú múdri, stali sa bláznami

²³and changed the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.

²³a zamenili slávu neporušiteľného Boha za podobnosť obrazu porušiteľného človeka i vtákov i štvornohých tvorov i zemeplazov.

²⁴Wherefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts unto uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves:

²⁴Preto ich tiež aj Bôh ta vydal v žiadostiach ich srdca do nečistoty, aby prznili svoje telá medzi sebou,

²⁵for that they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

²⁵jako takí, ktorí premenili pravdu Božiu na lož a radšej sťa Boha ctili a bohoslúžili stvoreniu než Stvoriteľovi, ktorý je požehnaný na veky. Ameň.

²⁶For this cause God gave them up unto vile passions: for their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature:

²⁶Preto ich Bôh vydal do hanebných náruživostí, lebo aj ich ženského pohlavia osoby premenili prirodzené používanie seba na také, ktoré je proti prírode,

²⁷and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working unseemliness, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was due.

²⁷a podobne aj mužského pohlavia osoby opustiac prirodzené používanie ženy rozpálili sa vo svojej hriešnej žiadosti navzájom naproti sebe, mužovia s mužmi páchajúc hanebnosť a odplatu, jaká bola treba za ich šialený blud, dostávajúc sami na sebe.

²⁸And even as they refused to have God in [their] knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

²⁸A jako neuznávali za hodné a potrebné mať Boha v pravej známosti, tak ich aj Bôh vydal v neosvedčenú myseľ prevrátenú, aby robili to, čo sa nepatrí,

²⁹being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

²⁹naplnených každou neprávosťou, smilstvom, podlosťou, lakomstvom, zlosťou, plných závisti, vraždy, sváru, lesti, zlých obyčají,

³⁰backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

³⁰pletichárov, pomlúvačov, nenávidiacich Boha, trýzniteľov, pyšných, chlúbnych, vynálezcov zlého, rodičom neposlušných,

³¹without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, unmerciful:

³¹nesmyselných, vierolomných, nemajúcich lásky, nesmierlivých a nemilosrdných,

³²who, knowing the ordinance of God, that they that practise such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also consent with them that practise them.

³²ktorí, hoci dobre poznali právo Božie, že tí, ktorí robia také veci, sú hodni smrti, nie len že to robia, ale to ešte aj schvaľujú tým, ktorí to tiež robia.
