¹Wherefore thou art without excuse, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judges another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest dost practise the same things.

¹Preto si neomluviteľný, ó, človeče, každý, kto súdiš, lebo v čom súdiš iného, sám seba odsudzuješ, lebo robíš to isté sám ty, ktorý súdiš.

²And we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against them that practise such things.

²A vieme, že súd Boží je podľa pravdy na tých, ktorí robia také veci.

³And reckonest thou this, O man, who judgest them that practise such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

³A či to myslíš, ó, človeče, ktorý súdiš tých, ktorí páchajú také veci, a sám robíš to isté, že ty ujdeš súdu Božiemu?

⁴Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

⁴A či pohŕdaš bohatstvom jeho dobrotivosti, znášanlivosti a zhovievavosti nevediac, že ťa dobrota Božia vedie ku pokániu?

⁵but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

⁵Ale podľa svojej tvrdosti a nekajúceho srdca hromadíš sebe hnev na deň hnevu a zjavenia spravedlivého súdenia Boha,

⁶who will render to every man according to his works:

⁶ktorý odplatí jednému každému podľa jeho skutkov,

⁷to them that by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life:

⁷a síce tým, ktorí v trpezlivosti dobrého skutku hľadajú slávu a česť a neporušiteľnosť - večným životom,

⁸but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, [shall be] wrath and indignation,

⁸a svárlivým a tým, ktorí neposlúchajú pravdy, ale poslúchajú neprávosť, bude prchlivosť a hnev;

⁹tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek;

⁹súženie a úzkosť na každú dušu človeka, ktorý robí zlé, na dušu Žida predne, i Gréka.

¹⁰but glory and honor and peace to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek:

¹⁰Ale sláva i česť i pokoj každému, kto robí dobré, Židovi predne, i Grékovi,

¹¹for there is no respect of persons with God.

¹¹pretože Bôh nehľadí na osobu.

¹²For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without the law: and as many as have sinned under the law shall be judged by the law;

¹²Lebo všetci, ktorí hrešili bez zákona, bez zákona i zahynú. A všetci, ktorí hrešili pod zákonom, budú zákonom odsúdení

¹³for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified:

¹³(Lebo nie poslucháči zákona sú spravedliví u Boha, ale činitelia zákona budú ospravedlnení.

¹⁴(for when Gentiles that have not the law do by nature the things of the law, these, not having the law, are the law unto themselves;

¹⁴Lebo keď pohania, nemajúci zákona, prírodou robia to, čo požaduje zákon, tí teda nemajúc zákona sami sebe sú zákonom,

¹⁵in that they show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness therewith, and their thoughts one with another accusing or else excusing [them]);

¹⁵ako takí, ktorí ukazujú dielo zákona napísané vo svojich srdciach, o čom spolu svedčí aj ich svedomie, ako spolusvedčia aj ich myšlienky, ktoré sa navzájom obviňujú alebo aj vyhovárajú.)

¹⁶in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men, according to my gospel, by Jesus Christ.

¹⁶v deň, keď bude Bôh súdiť skryté veci ľudí podľa môjho evanjelia skrze Ježiša Krista.

¹⁷But if thou bearest the name of a Jew, and restest upon the law, and gloriest in God,

¹⁷Ale ak sa ty zovieš Židom a spoliehaš sa na zákon a chváliš sa Bohom

¹⁸and knowest his will, and approvest the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law,

¹⁸a znáš jeho vôľu a vieš posúdiť, čo je dobré a čo zlé, vynaučovaný súc zo zákona,

¹⁹and art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them that are in darkness,

¹⁹a dôveruješ si byť vodcom slepých, svetlom tých, ktorí sú vo tme,

²⁰a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth;

²⁰vychovávateľom nerozumných, učiteľom nedospelých, ty, ktorý máš tvárnosť známosti a pravdy v zákone;

²¹thou therefore that teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?

²¹ty teda, ktorý učíš iného, sám seba neučíš? Ktorý kážeš nekradnúť, kradneš?

²²thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou rob temples?

²²Ty, ktorý hovoríš necudzoložiť, cudzoložíš? Ktorému sa hnusia modly, dopúšťaš sa svätokrádeže?

²³thou who gloriest in the law, through thy transgression of the law dishonorest thou God?

²³Ktorý sa chváliš zákonom, prestupovaním zákona zneuctievaš Boha?

²⁴For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you, even as it is written.

²⁴Lebo pre vás sa rúhajú menu Božiemu medzi pohanmi, jako je napísané.

²⁵For circumcision indeed profiteth, if thou be a doer of the law: but if thou be a transgressor of the law, thy circumcision is become uncircumcision.

²⁵Lebo obriezka síce osoží, keď robíš to, čo káže zákon. Ale keď si priestupníkom zákona, tvoja obriezka stala sa neobriezkou.

²⁶If therefore the uncircumcision keep the ordinances of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be reckoned for circumcision?

²⁶A tak keby neobriezka zachovávala jednotlivé ustanovenia zákona, či nebude jeho neobriezka počítaná za obriezku?

²⁷and shall not the uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who with the letter and circumcision art a transgressor of the law?

²⁷A bude súdiť neobriezka, neobriezka od prirodzenia, plniaca zákon, teba, ktorý si literou a obriezkou - priestupníkom zákona.

²⁸For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh:

²⁸Lebo nie je ten je Židom, kto je ním zjavne, navonok, ani nie je obriezkou obriezka na tele;

²⁹but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

²⁹ale Židom je ten, kto je ním skryte, v srdci, a obriezkou je obriezka srdca v duchu, nie v litere, - ktorého chvála nie je od ľudí, ale od Boha.
