1Then Job answered and said,
1அதற்கு யோபு பிரதியுத்தரமாக:
2Of a truth I know that it is so: But how can man be just with God?
2ஆம், காரியம் இப்படியிருக்கிறது என்று அறிவேன்; தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக மனுஷன் நீதிமானாயிருப்பதெப்படி?
3If he be pleased to contend with him, He cannot answer him one of a thousand.
3அவர் அவனோடே வழக்காடச் சித்தமாயிருந்தால், ஆயிரத்தில் ஒன்றுக்காகிலும் அவருக்கு உத்தரவு சொல்லமாட்டானே.
4[He is] wise in heart, and mighty in strength: Who hath hardened himself against him, and prospered?-
4அவர் இருதயத்தில் ஞானமுள்ளவர், பெலத்தில் பராக்கிரமமுள்ளவர்; அவருக்கு விரோதமாகத் தன்னைக் கடினப்படுத்தி வாழ்ந்தவன் யார்?
5[Him] that removeth the mountains, and they know it not, When he overturneth them in his anger;
5அவர் பர்வதங்களைச் சடிதியாய்ப் பேர்க்கிறார்; தம்முடைய கோபத்தில் அவைகளைப் புரட்டிப்போடுகிறார்.
6That shaketh the earth out of its place, And the pillars thereof tremble;
6பூமியின் தூண்கள் அதிரத்தக்கதாய் அதை அதின் ஸ்தானத்தினின்று அசையப்பண்ணுகிறார்.
7That commandeth the sun, and it riseth not, And sealeth up the stars;
7அவர் சூரியனுக்குக் கட்டளையிட அது உதிக்காதிருக்கும்; அவர் நட்சத்திரங்களை மறைத்துப்போடுகிறார்.
8That alone stretcheth out the heavens, And treadeth upon the waves of the sea;
8அவர் ஒருவரே வானங்களை விரித்து, சமுத்திர அலைகளின்மேல் நடக்கிறவர்.
9That maketh the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, And the chambers of the south;
9அவர் துருவச்சக்கர நட்சத்திரங்களையும், மிருகசீரிஷத்தையும், அறுமீனையும், தட்சண மண்டலங்களையும் உண்டாக்கினவர்.
10That doeth great things past finding out, Yea, marvellous things without number.
10ஆராய்ந்து முடியாத பெரிய காரியங்களையும், எண்ணி முடியாத அதிசயங்களையும் அவர் செய்கிறார்.
11Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: He passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
11இதோ, அவர் என் அருகில் போகிறார், நான் அவரைக் காணேன்; அவர் கடந்துபோகிறார், நான் அவரை அறியேன்.
12Behold, he seizeth [the prey], who can hinder him? Who will say unto him, What doest thou?
12இதோ, அவர் பறித்துக்கொண்டுபோகிறார், அவரை மறிப்பவன் யார்? நீர் என்ன செய்கிறீர் என்று அவரைக் கேட்பவன் யார்?
13God will not withdraw his anger; The helpers of Rahab do stoop under him.
13தேவன் தம்முடைய கோபத்தைத் திருப்பமாட்டார்; ஒருவருக்கொருவர் துணைநிற்கிற அகங்காரிகள் அவருக்கு அடங்கவேண்டும்.
14How much less shall I answer him, And choose out my words [to reason] with him?
14இப்படியிருக்க, அவருக்கு மறுமொழி கொடுக்கவும், அவரோடே வழக்காடும் வார்த்தைகளைத் தெரிந்து கொள்ளவும் நான் எம்மாத்திரம்?
15Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer; I would make supplication to my judge.
15நான் நீதிமானாயிருந்தாலும் அவரோடே வழக்காடாமல், என் நியாயாதிபதியினிடத்தில் இரக்கத்துக்குக் கெஞ்சுவேன்.
16If I had called, and he had answered me, Yet would I not believe that he hearkened unto my voice.
16நான் கெஞ்ச. அவர் எனக்கு உத்தரவு அருளினாலும், அவர் என் விண்ணப்பத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தார் என்று நம்பேன்.
17For he breaketh me with a tempest, And multiplieth my wounds without cause.
17அவர் புசலினால் என்னை முறிக்கிறார்; முகாந்தரமில்லாமல் அநேகம் காயங்களை எனக்கு உண்டாக்குகிறார்.
18He will not suffer me to take my breath, But filleth me with bitterness.
18நான் மூச்சுவிட எனக்கு இடங்கொடாமல், கசப்பினால் என்னை நிரப்புகிறார்.
19If [we speak] of strength, lo, [he is] mighty! And if of justice, Who, [saith he], will summon me?
19பெலத்தைப் பார்த்தால், அவரே பெலத்தவர்; நியாயத்தைப் பார்த்தால் என் பட்சத்தில் சாட்சி சொல்லுகிறவன் யார்?
20Though I be righteous, mine own mouth shall condemn me: Though I be perfect, it shall prove me perverse.
20நான் என்னை நீதிமானாக்கினாலும் என் வாயே என்னைக் குற்றவாளியாக்கும்; நான் உத்தமன் என்று சொன்னாலும், நான் மாறுபாடானவன் என்று அது சாட்சிகொடுக்கும்.
21I am perfect; I regard not myself; I despise my life.
21நான் உத்தமனென்றாலும் என் உள்ளத்தை நான் அறியேன்; என் ஜீவனை அரோசிப்பேன்.
22It is all one; therefore I say, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.
22ஒரு காரியம் உண்டு, அதைச் சொல்லுகிறேன்; சன்மார்க்கனையும் துன்மார்க்கனையும் அவர் அழிக்கிறார்.
23If the scourge slay suddenly, He will mock at the trial of the innocent.
23சவுக்கானது அசுப்பிலே வாதித்துக் கொல்லும்போது, அவர் குற்றமில்லாதவர்களின் சோதனையைப் பார்த்து நகைக்கிறார்.
24The earth is given into the hand of the wicked; He covereth the faces of the judges thereof: If [it be] not [he], who then is it?
24உலகம் துன்மார்க்கர் கையில் விடப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; அதிலிருக்கிற நியாயாதிபதிகளின் முகத்தை மூடிப்போடுகிறார்; அவர் இதைச் செய்கிறதில்லையென்றால், பின்னை யார் இதைச் செய்கிறார்.
25Now my days are swifter than a post: They flee away, they see no good,
25என் நாட்கள் அஞ்சற்காரர் ஓட்டத்திலும் தீவிரமாயிருக்கிறது; அவைகள் நன்மையைக் காணாமல் பறந்துபோம்.
26They are passed away as the swift ships; As the eagle that swoopeth on the prey.
26அவைகள் வேகமாய் ஓடுகிற கப்பல்களைப்போலவும், இரையின்மேல் பாய்கிற கழுகைப்போலவும் கடந்துபோகிறது.
27If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will put off my [sad] countenance, and be of good cheer;
27என் அங்கலாய்ப்பை நான் மறந்து, என் முகத்தின் துக்கத்தை மாற்றி, திடன்கொள்வேன் என்று சொன்னால்,
28I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.
28என் வருத்தங்களைப்பற்றிப் பயமாயிருக்கிறேன்; என்னைக் குற்றமில்லாதவனாக எண்ணமாட்டீர் என்று அறிவேன்.
29I shall be condemned; Why then do I labor in vain?
29நான் பொல்லாதவனாயிருந்தால், விருதாவாய்ப் போராடவேண்டியது என்ன?
30If I wash myself with snow water, And make my hands never so clean;
30நான் உறைந்த மழைத் தண்ணீரில் முழுகி, என் கைகளைச் சவுக்காரத்தினால் சுத்தம்பண்ணினாலும்,
31Yet wilt thou plunge me in the ditch, And mine own clothes shall abhor me.
31நீர் என்னைச் சேற்றுப்பள்ளத்திலே அமிழ்த்துவீர். அப்பொழுது என் வஸ்திரமே என்னை அருவருக்கும்.
32For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, That we should come together in judgment.
32நான் அவருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரம் சொல்லுகிறதற்கும், நாங்கள் கூடி நியாயத்திற்கு வருகிறதற்கும், அவர் என்னைப்போல மனுஷன் அல்லவே.
33There is no umpire betwixt us, That might lay his hand upon us both.
33எங்கள் இருவர்மேலும் தன் கையை வைக்கத்தக்க மத்தியஸ்தன் எங்களுக்குள் இல்லையே.
34Let him take his rod away from me, And let not his terror make me afraid:
34அவர் தமது மிலாற்றை என்னைவிட்டு அகற்றுவாராக; அவருடைய பயங்கரம் என்னைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணாதிருப்பதாக.
35Then would I speak, and not fear him; For I am not so in myself.
35அப்பொழுது நான் அவருக்குப் பயப்படாமல் பேசுவேன்; இப்பொழுதோ அப்படிச் செய்ய இடமில்லை.
