1A Psalm of Asaph. Surely God is good to Israel, [Even] to such as are pure in heart.
1சுத்த இருதயமுள்ளவர்களாகிய இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு தேவன் நல்லவராகவே இருக்கிறார்.
2But as for me, my feet were almost gone; My steps had well nigh slipped.
2ஆனாலும் என் கால்கள் தள்ளாடுதலுக்கும், என் அடிகள் சறுக்குதலுக்கும் சற்றே தப்பிற்று.
3For I was envious at the arrogant, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
3துன்மார்க்கரின் வாழ்வை நான் காண்கையில், வீம்புக்காரராகிய அவர்கள்மேல் பொறாமை கொண்டேன்.
4For there are no pangs in their death; But their strength is firm.
4மரணபரியந்தம் அவர்களுக்கு இடுக்கண்களில்லை; அவர்களுடைய பெலன் உறுதியாயிருக்கிறது.
5They are not in trouble as [other] men; Neither are they plagued like [other] men.
5நரர் படும் வருத்தத்தில் அகப்படார்கள்; மனுஷர் அடையும் உபாதியை அடையார்கள்.
6Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck; Violence covereth them as a garment.
6ஆகையால் பெருமை சரப்பணியைப்போல் அவர்களைச் சுற்றிக்கொள்ளும், கொடுமை ஆடையைப்போல் அவர்களை மூடிக்கொள்ளும்.
7Their eyes stand out with fatness: They have more than heart could wish.
7அவர்கள் கண்கள் கொழுப்பினால் எடுப்பாய்ப் பார்க்கிறது; அவர்கள் இருதயம் விரும்புவதிலும் அதிகமாய் நடந்தேறுகிறது.
8They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression: They speak loftily.
8அவர்கள் சீர்கெட்டுப்போய், அகந்தையாய்க் கொடுமை பேசுகிறார்கள்; இறுமாப்பாய்ப் பேசுகிறார்கள்.
9They have set their mouth in the heavens, And their tongue walketh through the earth.
9தங்கள் வாய் வானமட்டும் எட்டப்பேசுகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் நாவு பூமியெங்கும் உலாவுகிறது.
10Therefore his people return hither: And waters of a full [cup] are drained by them.
10ஆகையால் அவருடைய ஜனங்கள் இந்த வழியாகவே திரும்புகிறார்கள்; தண்ணீர்கள் அவர்களுக்குப் பரிபூரணமாய்ச் சுரந்துவரும்.
11And they say, How doth God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?
11தேவனுக்கு அது எப்படித் தெரியும்? உன்னதமானவருக்கு அதைப்பற்றி அறிவு உண்டோ? என்று சொல்லுகிறார்கள்.
12Behold, these are the wicked; And, being alway at ease, they increase in riches.
12இதோ, இவர்கள் துன்மார்க்கர்; இவர்கள் என்றும் சுகஜீவிகளாயிருந்து, ஆஸ்தியைப் பெருகப்பண்ணுகிறார்கள்.
13Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart, And washed my hands in innocency;
13நான் விருதாவாகவே என் இருதயத்தைச் சுத்தம்பண்ணி, குற்றமில்லாமையிலே என் கைகளைக் கழுவினேன்.
14For all the day long have I been plagued, And chastened every morning.
14நாள்தோறும் நான் வாதிக்கப்பட்டும், காலைதோறும் தண்டிக்கப்பட்டும் இருக்கிறேன்.
15If I had said, I will speak thus; Behold, I had dealt treacherously with the generation of thy children.
15இவ்விதமாய்ப் பேசுவேன் என்று நான் சொன்னேனானால், இதோ, உம்முடைய பிள்ளைகளின் சந்ததிக்குத் துரோகியாவேன்.
16When I thought how I might know this, It was too painful for me;
16இதை அறியும்படிக்கு யோசித்துப்பார்த்தேன்; நான் தேவனுடைய பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்துக்குள் பிரவேசித்து,
17Until I went into the sanctuary of God, And considered their latter end.
17அவர்கள் முடிவைக் கவனித்து உணருமளவும், அது என் பார்வைக்கு விசனமாயிருந்தது.
18Surely thou settest them in slippery places: Thou castest them down to destruction.
18நிச்சயமாகவே நீர் அவர்களைச் சறுக்கலான இடங்களில் நிறுத்தி, பாழான இடங்களில் விழப்பண்ணுகிறீர்.
19How are they become a desolation in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.
19அவர்கள் ஒரு நிமிஷத்தில் எவ்வளவு பாழாய்ப்போகிறார்கள்! பயங்கரங்களால் அழிந்து நிர்மூலமாகிறார்கள்.
20As a dream when one awaketh, So, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou wilt despise their image.
20நித்திரை தெளிந்தவுடனே சொப்பனம் ஒழிவதுபோல், ஆண்டவரே, நீர்விழிக்கும்போது, அவர்கள் வேஷத்தை இகழுவீர்.
21For my soul was grieved, And I was pricked in my heart:
21இப்படியாக என் மனம் கசந்தது, என் உள்ளிந்திரியங்களிலே குத்துண்டேன்.
22So brutish was I, and ignorant; I was [as] a beast before thee.
22நான் காரியம் அறியாத மூடனானேன்; உமக்கு முன்பாக மிருகம் போலிருந்தேன்.
23Nevertheless I am continually with thee: Thou hast holden my right hand.
23ஆனாலும் நான் எப்பொழுதும் உம்மோடிருக்கிறேன்; என் வலதுகையைப் பிடித்துத் தாங்குகிறீர்.
24Thou wilt guide me with thy counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.
24உம்முடைய ஆலோசனையின்படி நீர் என்னை நடத்தி, முடிவிலே என்னை மகிமையில் ஏற்றுக்கொள்வீர்.
25Whom have I in heaven [but thee]? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides thee.
25பரலோகத்தில் உம்மையல்லாமல் எனக்கு யார் உண்டு? பூலோகத்தில் உம்மைத் தவிர எனக்கு வேறே விருப்பமில்லை.
26My flesh and my heart faileth; [But] God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever.
26என் மாம்சமும் என் இருதயமும் மாண்டுபோகிறது; தேவன் என்றென்றைக்கும் என் இருதயத்தின் கன்மலையும் என் பங்குமாயிருக்கிறார்.
27For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: Thou hast destroyed all them that play the harlot, [departing] from thee.
27இதோ, உம்மைவிட்டுத் தூரமாய்ப்போகிறவர்கள் நாசமடைவார்கள்; உம்மைவிட்டுச் சோரம்போகிற அனைவரையும் சங்கரிப்பீர்.
28But it is good for me to draw near unto God: I have made the Lord Jehovah my refuge, That I may tell of all thy works.
28எனக்கோ, தேவனை அண்டிக்கொண்டிருப்பதே நலம்; நான் உமது கிரியைகளையெல்லாம் சொல்லிவரும்படி கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர்மேல் என் நம்பிக்கையை வைத்திருக்கிறேன்.
