¹Maschil of Asaph. O God, why hast thou cast [us] off for ever? Why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

¹தேவனே, நீர் எங்களை என்றென்றைக்கும் ஏன் தள்ளிவிடுகிறீர்? உமது மேய்ச்சலின் ஆடுகள்மேல் உமது கோபம் ஏன் புகைகிறது?

²Remember thy congregation, which thou hast gotten of old, Which thou hast redeemed to be the tribe of thine inheritance; [And] mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

²நீர் பூர்வகாலத்தில் சம்பாதித்த உமது சபையையும், நீர் மீட்டுக்கொண்ட உமது சுதந்தரமான கோத்திரத்தையும், நீர் வாசமாயிருந்த சீயோன் பர்வதத்தையும் நினைத்தருளும்.

³Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual ruins, All the evil that the enemy hath done in the sanctuary.

³நெடுங்காலமாகப் பாழாய்க்கிடக்கிற ஸ்தலங்களில் உம்முடைய பாதங்களை எழுந்தருளப்பண்ணும்; பரிசுத்தஸ்தலத்திலே சத்துரு அனைத்தையும் கெடுத்துப்போட்டான்.

⁴Thine adversaries have roared in the midst of thine assembly; They have set up their ensigns for signs.

⁴உம்முடைய சத்துருக்கள் உம்முடைய ஆலயங்களுக்குள்ளே கெர்ச்சித்து, தங்கள் கொடிகளை அடையாளங்களாக நாட்டுகிறார்கள்.

⁵They seemed as men that lifted up Axes upon a thicket of trees.

⁵கோடரிகளை ஓங்கிச் சோலையிலே மரங்களை வெட்டுகிறவன் பேர்பெற்றவனானான்.

⁶And now all the carved work thereof They break down with hatchet and hammers.

⁶இப்பொழுதோ அவர்கள் அதின் சித்திரவேலைகள் முழுவதையும் வாச்சிகளாலும் சம்மட்டிகளாலும் தகர்த்துப்போடுகிறார்கள்.

⁷They have set thy sanctuary on fire; They have profaned the dwelling-place of thy name [by casting it] to the ground.

⁷உமது பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தை அக்கினிக்கு இரையாக்கி, உமது நாமத்தின் வாசஸ்தலத்தைத் தரைமட்டும் இடித்து, அசுத்தப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

⁸They said in their heart, Let us make havoc of them altogether: They have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

⁸அவர்களை ஏகமாய் நிர்த்தூளியாக்குவோம் என்று தங்கள் இருதயத்தில் சொல்லி, தேசத்திலுள்ள ஆலயங்களையெல்லாம் சுட்டெரித்துப்போட்டார்கள்.

⁹We see not our signs: There is no more any prophet; Neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.

⁹எங்களுக்கு இருந்த அடையாளங்களைக் காணோம்; தீர்க்கதரிசியும் இல்லை; இது எதுவரைக்கும் என்று அறிகிறவனும் எங்களிடத்தில் இல்லை.

¹⁰How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

¹⁰தேவனே, எதுவரைக்கும் சத்துரு நிந்திப்பான்? பகைவன் உமது நாமத்தை எப்பொழுதும் தூஷிப்பானோ?

¹¹Why drawest thou back thy hand, even thy right hand? [Pluck it] out of thy bosom [and] consume [them].

¹¹உமது வலதுகரத்தை என் முடக்கிக்கொள்ளுகிறீர்; அதை உமது மடியிலிருந்து எடுத்து ஓங்கி நிர்மூலமாக்கும்.

¹²Yet God is my King of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.

¹²பூமியின் நடுவில் இரட்சிப்புகளைச் செய்துவருகிற தேவன் பூர்வகாலமுதல் என்னுடைய ராஜா.

¹³Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: Thou brakest the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters.

¹³தேவரீர் உமது வல்லமையினால் சமுத்திரத்தை இரண்டாகப் பிளந்து, ஜலத்திலுள்ள வலுசர்ப்பங்களின் தலைகளை உடைத்தீர்.

¹⁴Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces; Thou gavest him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

¹⁴தேவரீர் முதலைகளின் தலைகளை நருக்கிப்போட்டு, அதை வனாந்தரத்து ஜனங்களுக்கு உணவாகக் கொடுத்தீர்.

¹⁵Thou didst cleave fountain and flood: Thou driedst up mighty rivers.

¹⁵ஊற்றையும் ஆற்றையும் பிளந்துவிட்டீர்; மகா நதிகளையும் வற்றிப்போகப்பண்ணினீர்.

¹⁶The day is thine, the night also is thine: Thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

¹⁶பகலும் உம்முடையது, இரவும் உம்முடையது; தேவரீர் ஒளியையும் சூரியனையும் படைத்தீர்.

¹⁷Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: Thou hast made summer and winter.

¹⁷பூமியின் எல்லைகளையெல்லாம் திட்டம்பண்ணினீர்; கோடைகாலத்தையும் மாரிகாலத்தையும் உண்டாக்கினீர்.

¹⁸Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Jehovah, And that a foolish people hath blasphemed thy name.

¹⁸கர்த்தாவே, சத்துரு உம்மை நிந்தித்ததையும், மதியீன ஜனங்கள் உமது நாமத்தைத் தூஷித்ததையும் நினைத்துக்கொள்ளும்.

¹⁹Oh deliver not the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast: Forget not the life of thy poor for ever.

¹⁹உமது காட்டுப்புறாவின் ஆத்துமாவைத் துஷ்டருடைய கூட்டத்திற்கு ஒப்புக்கொடாதேயும்; உமது ஏழைகளின் கூட்டத்தை என்றைக்கும் மறவாதேயும்.

²⁰Have respect unto the covenant; For the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of violence.

²⁰உம்முடைய உடன்படிக்கையை நினைத்தருளும்; பூமியின் இருளான இடங்கள் கொடுமையுள்ள குடியிருப்புகளால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறதே.

²¹Oh let not the oppressed return ashamed: Let the poor and needy praise thy name.

²¹துன்பப்பட்டவன் வெட்கத்தோடே திரும்பவிடாதிரும்; சிறுமையும் எளிமையுமானவன் உமது நாமத்தைத் துதிக்கும்படி செய்யும்.

²²Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: Remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day.

²²தேவனே, எழுந்தருளும், உமக்காக நீரே வழக்காடும்; மதியீனனாலே நாடோறும் உமக்கு வரும் நிந்தையை நினைத்துக்கொள்ளும்.

²³Forget not the voice of thine adversaries: The tumult of those that rise up against thee ascendeth continually.

²³உம்முடைய சத்துருக்களின் ஆரவாரத்தை மறவாதேயும்; உமக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்புகிறவர்களின் அமளி எப்பொழுதும் அதிகரிக்கிறது.
