¹A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling-place In all generations.

¹ஆண்டவரே, தேவரீர் தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக எங்களுக்கு அடைக்கலமானவர்.

²Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

²பர்வதங்கள் தோன்றுமுன்னும், நீர் பூமியையும், உலகத்தையும் உருவாக்குமுன்னும், நீரே அநாதியாய் என்றென்றைக்கும் தேவனாயிருக்கிறீர்.

³Thou turnest man to destruction, And sayest, Return, ye children of men.

³நீர் மனுஷரை நீர்த்துளியாக்கி, மனுபுத்திரரே, திரும்புங்கள் என்கிறீர்.

⁴For a thousand years in thy sight Are but as yesterday when it is past, And as a watch in the night.

⁴உமது பார்வைக்கு ஆயிரம் வருஷம் நேற்றுக்கழிந்த நாள்போலவும் இராச்சாமம்போலவும் இருக்கிறது.

⁵Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: In the morning they are like grass which groweth up.

⁵அவர்களை வெள்ளம்போல் வாரிக்கொண்டு போகிறீர்; நித்திரைக்கு ஒத்திருக்கிறார்கள்; காலையிலே முளைக்கிற புல்லுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

⁶In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; In the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

⁶அது காலையிலே முளைத்துப் பூத்து, மாலையிலே அறுப்புண்டு உலர்ந்துபோகும்.

⁷For we are consumed in thine anger, And in thy wrath are we troubled.

⁷நாங்கள் உமது கோபத்தினால் அழிந்து உமது உக்கிரத்தினால் கலங்கிப்போகிறோம்.

⁸Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, Our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

⁸எங்கள் அக்கிரமங்களை உமக்கு முன்பாகவும், எங்கள் அந்தரங்க பாவங்களை உமது முகத்தின் வெளிச்சத்திலும் நிறுத்தினீர்.

⁹For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: We bring our years to an end as a sigh.

⁹எங்கள் நாட்களெல்லாம் உமது கோபத்தால் போய்விட்டது; ஒரு கதையைப்போல் எங்கள் வருஷங்களைக் கழித்துப்போட்டோம்.

¹⁰The days of our years are threescore years and ten, Or even by reason of strength fourscore years; Yet is their pride but labor and sorrow; For it is soon gone, and we fly away.

¹⁰எங்கள் ஆயுசு நாட்கள் எழுபது வருஷம், பெலத்தின் மிகுதியால் எண்பது வருஷமாயிருந்தாலும், அதின் மேன்மையானது வருத்தமும் சஞ்சலமுமே; அது சீக்கரமாய்க் கடந்து போகிறது நாங்களும் பறந்துபோகிறோம்.

¹¹Who knoweth the power of thine anger, And thy wrath according to the fear that is due unto thee?

¹¹உமது கோபத்தின் வல்லமையையும், உமக்குப் பயப்படத்தக்க விதமாய் உமது உக்கிரத்தையும் அறிந்து கொள்ளுகிறவன் யார்?

¹²So teach us to number our days, That we may get us a heart of wisdom.

¹²நாங்கள் ஞான இருதயமுள்ளவர்களாகும்படி, எங்கள் நாட்களை எண்ணும் அறிவை எங்களுக்குப் போதித்தருளும்.

¹³Return, O Jehovah; how long? And let it repent thee concerning thy servants.

¹³கர்த்தாவே, திரும்பிவாரும், எதுவரைக்கும் கோபமாயிருப்பீர்? உமது அடியாருக்காகப் பரிதபியும்.

¹⁴Oh satisfy us in the morning with thy lovingkindness, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

¹⁴நாங்கள் எங்கள் வாழ்நாளெல்லாம் களிகூர்ந்து மகிழும்படி, காலையிலே எங்களை உமது கிருபையால் திருப்தியாக்கும்.

¹⁵Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, And the years wherein we have seen evil.

¹⁵தேவரீர் எங்களைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தின நாட்களுக்கும், நாங்கள் துன்பத்தைக் கண்ட வருஷங்களுக்கும் சரியாய் எங்களை மகிழ்ச்சியாக்கும்.

¹⁶Let thy work appear unto thy servants, And thy glory upon their children.

¹⁶உமது கிரியை உமது ஊழியக்காரருக்கும், உமது மகிமை அவர்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் விளங்குவதாக.

¹⁷And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And establish thou the work of our hands upon us; Yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

¹⁷எங்கள் தேவனாகிய ஆண்டவரின் பிரியம் எங்கள் மேல் இருப்பதாக; எங்கள் கைகளின் கிரியையை எங்களிடத்தில் உறுதிப்படுத்தும்; ஆம், எங்கள் கைகளின் கிரியையை எங்களிடத்தில் உறுதிப்படுத்தியருளும்.
