⁵ज्योति आँधियारे मँ चमकत ह अउर आँधियारा ओका जीत न पावा।

⁹The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

¹⁰उ तउ इहइ दुनिया मँ रहा अउर इ दुनिया क उहइ पइदा किहेस मुला दुनिया ओका पहिचान नाहीं पाएस।

¹⁰He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn’t recognize him.

¹¹उ अपने संसार मँ आवा रहा, मुला ओकर आपन मनई ओका नाहीं अपनाएन।

¹²मुला जउन मनई ओका अपनाइ लिहेन्ह, ओनका सबका उ परमेस्सर संतान होइ क अधिकार दिहेस।

¹²But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name:

¹³परमेस्सर क औलाद क नाई उ कुदरती तौर प न तउ लहू स पइदा भवा, न तउ कउनो तने क इच्छा स, अउर न तउ महतारी-बाप क योजना स। मुला उ परमेस्सर स पइदा भवा।

¹³who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

¹⁴उहइ बचन देह अपनाइ क हमरे सबके बीच मँ रहइ लाग। हम सब परमपिता क एकइ पूत क नाई ओकरी महिमा क दर्सन कीन्ह। उ बचन अनुग्रह अउर सच्चाई स भरा रहा।

¹⁴The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

²⁷He is the one who comes after me, who is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I’m not worthy to loosen.”

²⁸इ सब घटना यरदन क पार बैतनिय्याह मँ घटिन ह जहाँ प यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देत रहा।

²⁸These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

²⁹ओकरे दूसरे दिन यूहन्ना ईसू क अपने लगे आवत देखेस तउ कहेस, “परमेस्सर क मेमना क देखा जउन दुनिया क सब पाप हर लेत ह।

²⁹The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁰इ उहइ अहइ जेकरे बावत मइँ बताए रहेउँ, ‘एक मनई मोरे बाद आवइवाला अहइ, जउन मोसे भी महान अहइ, उ मोसे भी आगे अहइ, उ मोसे पहले स मौजूद रहा।’

³⁸Jesus turned, and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), “where are you staying?”

⁴⁵Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

⁴⁸Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”

⁴⁹Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are King of Israel!”

⁵⁰एकरे जवाब मँ ईसू कहेस, “तू इ बरे बिसवास करत अहा, काहेकि मइँ कहत अहउँ कि तोहका अंजीर क पेड़ क खाले देखे रहेउँ। तू अगवा (बाद मँ) अउर बड़ी बड़ी बातन देखब्या।”

⁵⁰Jesus answered him, “Because I told you, ‘I saw you underneath the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these!”

⁵¹उ ओसे (नतनएल स) फिन कहेस, “मइँ तोहका सही सही बतावत अहउँ कि तू सरग क खुलत अउर परमेस्सर क दूतन क मनई क पूत प उतरत चढ़त देखब्या।”

⁵¹He said to him, “Most certainly, I tell you, hereafter you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
