¹तबहिं कछू फरीसियन अउर कछू धरमसास्तिरियन जउन यरूसलेम स आएन ओनके चारिहुँ कइँती एकट्ठा भएन।

¹Then the Pharisees, and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem.

²अउर उ सबइ ओनके कछू चेलन बिना साफ किए हथवा स खात देखेन। (“बिना साफ किया स मतलब इ अहइ कि उ पचन फरीसियन क बताए भए तरीके स हथवा नाहीं धोवत रहेन।)

²Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is, unwashed, hands, they found fault.

³फरीसियन अउर दूसर यहूदियत खाइके नाहीं खातेन जब तलक उ सबइ आपन हथवा क पूर्वजन क रीति स न धोइ लेइँ।

³(For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, don’t eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.

⁴इहइ तरह उ सब बजारे स खाइ क बरे लावा भवा कउनो चीज तब तक नाहीं खातेन, जब तलक ओहका खास तरीके स न धोइ लेइँ। इहइ तरह अउ बहोत स रितियन अहइँ, जेका उ सबइ करत आवत हइँ जइसे खोरा, गगरी, ताँवा क बासन अउर गद्देदार कुर्सी क धोउब।)

⁴They don’t eat when they come from the marketplace, unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things, which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.)

⁵एह बरे फरीसियन अउर धरम सास्तिरियन ओसे पूछेन, “काहे तोहार चेलन पूर्वजन क रीतिन्क करतेन नाहीं, मुला आपन मइले हाथन स खइया क खात हीं?”

⁵The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why don’t your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?”

⁶ईसू ओनसे कहेस, “यसायाह तू जइसे कपटिन क बारे मँ पहिले भविस्सबाणी कइ दिहस, जइसा कि लिखा बाटइ: ‘इ मनइयन ओंठवा स मोर इज्जत करत हीं मुला ओनके मनवा ओसे दूर अहइँ।

⁶He answered them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

⁷मोका एनकर उपासना अर्पित अहइ बिना काम क अउर इ सबइ बेकार उपासना करत हीं। काहेकि इ सबइ लोग मनई क बनए सिद्धान्त अउर नेम काहे कइके सिखावत हीं। यसायाह 29:13

⁷ But in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ Isaiah 29:13

⁸तू पचे परमेस्सर क आदेस न उठाइ क एक कइँती धइ दिहा अउर मनई क रीतिन्क परिपाटी क सहारा लइके चलावत अहा।”

⁸ “For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things.”

⁹ईसू ओनसे कहेस, “तू आपन पचन क बहोत चलाक समझत अहा। तू परमेस्सर क आदेस न ऐहि बरे टारइ चाहत ह, जेहसे आपन रीतन्क चलाइ सका।

⁹He said to them, “Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

¹⁰उदाहरण बरे जइसे मूसा कहेस, ‘आपन महतारी बाप क इज्जत द्या।’ अउर ‘जउन मनई महतारी बाप क बुरा भला कहइ ओका मार डावा।’

¹⁰ For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’ Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:16 and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’ Exodus 21:17; Leviticus 20:9

¹¹तू पचन सिखावत ह, ‘जदि कउनो मनई महतारी बाप स कहत ह कि मोरे जेहि चीज स तोहका फायदा मिल सकत ह, उ परमेस्सर क दइ दीन्ह।’

¹¹ But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban Corban is a Hebrew word for an offering devoted to God. , that is to say, given to God”;’

¹²तउ तू ओनकर महतारी बाप बरे कछू करइ क मना करत ह।

¹² then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,

¹³इ नाई तू आपन रीति रिवाज स परमेस्सर क बचन क बेकार बनइ देत ह, अउर अइसी बहोत स बातन तू करत ह।”

¹³ making void the word of God by your tradition, which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”

¹⁴ईसू फिन भिरिया क बोलाएस अउर ओनसे कहेस, “हर मनई मोरउ बात सुना अउर समझा।

¹⁴He called all the multitude to himself, and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.

¹⁵अइसी कउनो चीज नाहीं जउन मनई क बाहेर स आवइ अउर ओका भीतर जाइके असुद्ध करइ। मुला जउन चीज मनई क भीतर स आवत हीं, उ ही ओका असुद्ध करत हीं।”

¹⁵ There is nothing from outside of the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.

¹⁶जदि कउनो क सुनइ क कान होइँ तउ सुन लेइ।

¹⁶ If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”

¹⁷फिन ईसू भीर क छोड़ि कइ घर गवा तउ ओकर चेलन ओसे इ दिस्टान्त क बारे मँ सवाल करेन।

¹⁷When he had entered into a house away from the multitude, his disciples asked him about the parable.

¹⁸तब ईसू ओनसे कहेस, “का तू पचे कछू नाहीं समुझ पाया? कउनो बात जउन बाहेर ते मनई क भीतर आवत हीं, का उ ओका असुद्ध कइ सकी?

¹⁸He said to them, “Are you thus without understanding also? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him,

¹⁹एह बरे उ सोझाई मनई क हिरदइ मँ जात नाहीं। उ पेटवा मँ जात ह अउर इ गुह मँ होइ क निकर जात ही।” (अइसा कहत उ सबइ खइया क चीजन्क सुद्ध कहेस।)

¹⁹ because it doesn’t go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, thus purifying all foods or, making all foods clean ?”

²⁰अउर ईसू कहेस, “इ उही अहइ जउन मनई क हिरदइ स आवत ह अउर ओका असुद्ध करत ह।

²⁰He said, “That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man.

²¹मनई क हिरदइ स बुरा बिचार आवत हीं अउर अनैतिक करम, चोराउब, कतल करब,

²¹ For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,

²²व्यभिचार, लालच, दुस्टता, चाल चपेट, बेहूदगी, जलन, चुगुलखोरी, घमण्ड अउर बेवकूफी

²² covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.

²³ई सब बुरी चीज भीतर स आवत हीं अउ मनई क असुद्ध बहइ देत हीं।”

²³ All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”

²⁴ईसू उ जगहिया छोड़ि दिहस अउ सूर (सहर क नाउँ अहइ) क आसपास क पहँटा मँ गवा। हुवाँ उ एक घरवा मँ गवा अउर नाहीं चाहेस कि कउनो ओकरे आवइ क बारे मँ जानइ। मुला उ आपन क नाहीं छुपाए पाएस।

²⁴From there he arose, and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house, and didn’t want anyone to know it, but he couldn’t escape notice.

²⁵असिल मँ एक ठु स्त्री जेके बिटिया क दुस्ट आतिमा घेरि लिहे रही, ईसू क बारे मँ सुनिके फउरन ओकरे पास आई, अउ गोड़वा प गिर पड़ी।

²⁵For a woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet.

²⁶इ यूनानी क स्त्री रही अउर सीरियाक फिनीकी मँ पइदा भइ रही। उ आपन बिटिया स दुस्ट आतिमा भगावइ क ईसू स बिनती करेस।

²⁶Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.

²⁷ईसू ओसे कहेस, “पहिले बचवन क अघाइ जाइ द्या। इ नीक नाहीं कि बचवन क रोटी छीन लेइ अउर कुकुरन क फेंक देइ।”

²⁷But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”

²⁸तब उ ओका जबाव दिहस, “पर्भू! कुकुरन हु मेजिया क तरखाले गिरा खइया क चूर चरावा खात हीं।”

²⁸But she answered him, “Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

²⁹तब ईसू ओसे कहेस, “इ जबावे क कारण तू आपन घर चइन स जाइ सकत ह। दुस्ट आतिमा तोहरे बिटिया क छोड़ि दिहस।”

²⁹He said to her, “For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”

³⁰ऍह पइ उ घर गइ अउर आपन बिटिया क बिछउन प ओलरा पाइस तब तलक दुस्ट आतिमा ओसे निकर गइ।

³⁰She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.

³¹तब ईसू सूर क चारिहुँ कइँती स लौटि आइ अउर दिकापुलिस माने दस नगर क डगर स सिदोन जात भवा गलील झील डाइ गवा।

³¹Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the region of Decapolis.

³²हुवाँ कछू लोग ईसू क नगिचे एक मनई क लइ आएन जउन बहिरा रहा अउर मुस्किल स बोल पावत रहा। अउर उ पचे ईसू स ओह पइ हथवा धरइ क बिनती करेन।

³²They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him.

³³ईसू भिरिया स दूर एक कइँती लइ गवा। ईसू आपन अँगुरिया मनई क कनवा मँ डाइस। फिन उ कनवा मँ थूक कइ, ओकर जिभिया छुइस।

³³He took him aside from the multitude, privately, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat, and touched his tongue.

³⁴उ सरग क निहारेस, गहरी संसिया भरेस अउर ओसे कहेस, “इप्फत्तह।” (अरथ अहइ “खुलि जा।”)

³⁴Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”

³⁵अउर ओकर कनवन खुलि गएन अउर जिभिया क गंठिया खुलि गइ। फिन उ साफ साफ बोलाइ लाग।

³⁵Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.

³⁶ईसू ओनका हुकुम दिहेस कि कउनहुँ क न बतावइँ। जेतना जिआदा उ ओनका हुकुम दिहेस उ पचे ओतनइ जिआदा बताइन।

³⁶He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.

³⁷उ सबइ लोग पूरपूर अचरज मँ पड़ि गएन अउर कहेन, “ईसू हर काम नीक करत ह। उ हियाँ तलक बहिरन क सुनइ क सक्ति देत ह अउर गूँगन क बोलावत ह।”

³⁷They were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak!”
