¹ओनही दिनन मँ दूसर अउसर प भारी भीर जमा होइ गइ अउर ओनके पास खाइ क कछू नाहीं रहा। उ आपन चेलन क निअरे बोलाएस अउर ओनसे कहेस,

¹In those days, when there was a very great multitude, and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to himself, and said to them,

²“मोका इन मनइयन प तरिस आवत ह, अइसे कि उ पचे मोरे साथ पहिले क तीन दिनन स अहइँ। ओनेके लगे खाइ क कछू नाहीं।

² “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have stayed with me now three days, and have nothing to eat.

³उ जदि मइँ ओनका घरे भूखा पठवत हउँ, उ सबइ राहे मँ मर बिलाय जइहीं। ओहमाँ स कछू तू ढेर दूरी स आइ अहइँ।”

³ If I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come a long way.”

⁴अउर ओकर चेलन जवाब दिहन, “इ जंगल मँ एनका खिआवइ क बरे कतहूँ का कउनो खूब खाइ क पाइ सकत ह, जेहसे एनका खियाइ दीन्ह जाइ?”

⁴His disciples answered him, “From where could one satisfy these people with bread here in a deserted place?”

⁵उ ओनसे पूछेस, “तोहरे पास केतनी रोटी अहइँ?” “सात ठु” उ पचे जवाब दिहेन।

⁵He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.”

⁶तब ईसू हुकुम दिहेस-भीर मइदान मँ बैठि जाइ। उ सात रोटी लिहस, फिन परमेस्सर क धन्यवाद दिहस। उ ओनका तोड़ेस। ओकरे बाद आपन चेलन क बाँटइ बरे दिहस। अउर उ पचे भिड़िया क लोग क बाँटेन।

⁶He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves. Having given thanks, he broke them, and gave them to his disciples to serve, and they served the multitude.

⁷ओनके लगे नान्ह नान्ह थोड़ी स मछरी भी रही। अउर उ धन्यबाद दइके ओनका बाँटइ बरे कहेस।

⁷They had a few small fish. Having blessed them, he said to serve these also.

⁸मनइयन अघाइ गएन अउर बचा खुचा रोटी क टुकड़न स सात झउआ उ पचे एकट्ठा करेन।

⁸They ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets of broken pieces that were left over.

⁹हुवाँ करीब चार हजार पुरुसन रहेन। तब उ ओनका बिदा करेस।

⁹Those who had eaten were about four thousand. Then he sent them away.

¹⁰अउर तुरंतहिं उ चेलन्क लइ क नाउ मँ बइठि के दलमनूता पहँटा मँ गवा।

¹⁰Immediately he entered into the boat with his disciples, and came into the region of Dalmanutha.

¹¹फिन फरीसियन आएन अउर ओसे सवाल करइ लागेन। उ सब ओसे एक ठु अद्भुत कारज बरे कहेन। उ पचे ओका परखइ बरे अइसा किहन।

¹¹The Pharisees came out and began to question him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, and testing him.

¹²आपन मनवा मँ गहरी सांस भरत ईसू कहेस, “काहे ई पीढ़ी क मनई अद्भुत चीन्ह चाहत हीं? मइँ तोहका सच सच कहत हउँ। कउनो अद्भुत चीन्ह क पीढ़ी क न दीन्ह जाई।”

¹²He sighed deeply in his spirit, and said, “Why does this generation The word translated “generation” here (genea) could also be translated “people,” “race,” or “family.” seek a sign? Most certainly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation.”

¹³तबहिं उ ओनका छोड़ि दिहस। फिन नाउ मँ बइठ गवा, अउर झील क उ पार गवा।

¹³He left them, and again entering into the boat, departed to the other side.

¹⁴ईसू क चेलन खइया क जिआदा लइ आउब बिसर गएन। ओनके लगे एक ठु रोटी क बजाय कछू नाहीं रहा।

¹⁴They forgot to take bread; and they didn’t have more than one loaf in the boat with them.

¹⁵ईसू ओनका चितावनी देत कहेस, “हुसियार! फरीसियन अउर हेरोदेस क खमीर स बचा रहा।”

¹⁵He warned them, saying, “Take heed: beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod.”

¹⁶“हमरे लगे एक ठु रोटी नाहीं इस प उ पचे आपुस मँ छानबीन करइ लागेन।

¹⁶They reasoned with one another, saying, “It’s because we have no bread.”

¹⁷उ सबइ क कहत अहइँ इ जानत भवा ईसू ओनसे कहेस, “रोटी नाहीं होइ क कारण तू सबइ काहे सोचत बिचारत अहा? का तू अबहुँ समझत बुझत नाहीं बाट्या? का तोहार बुद्धि जड़ अहइ?

¹⁷Jesus, perceiving it, said to them, “Why do you reason that it’s because you have no bread? Don’t you perceive yet, neither understand? Is your heart still hardened?

¹⁸तोहरे आँखिन अहइँ, का तू देखि सकत्या नाहीं? तोहरे कान अहइँ, का तू सुन सकत्या नाहीं? ता तोहका याद नाहीं?

¹⁸ Having eyes, don’t you see? Having ears, don’t you hear? Don’t you remember?

¹⁹जबहिं मइँ पाँच रोटिन्क पाँच हजार मनइयन मँ तोड़िउँ। केतना झउआ रोटी क टुकड़न स भरा भवा तू बटोर्या?” उ पचे कहेन, “बारह।”

¹⁹ When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They told him, “Twelve.”

²⁰“अउर जबहिं मइँ सात रोटिन्क क चार हजार बरे तोड़यों। कइ झउआ रोटिन्क टुकड़न क तू बटोर्या?” उ सबई कहेन, “सात।”

²⁰ “When the seven loaves fed the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They told him, “Seven.”

²¹तबहिं उ ओनसे पूछेस, “का तू पचे अबहुँ नाहीं बूझया?”

²¹He asked them, “Don’t you understand, yet?”

²²उ पचे बैतसैदा गएन। हुँवा कछू लोग ओकरे पास एक ठो आँधर पकड़ि ले आइन अउर उ सबइ ईसू स ओका छुअइ क बिनती करेन।

²²He came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to him, and begged him to touch him.

²³उ आँधर मनई क हथवा पकड़ेस अउर ओका गाउँ क बाहेर लइ गवा। ईसू आँधर क आँखिन प थूकेस, “का तू कउनो चीज निहारत ह”

²³He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything.

²⁴आँधर मनई निहारेस अउर कहेस, “मइँ मनइयन क देखात हउँ, उ सबई बिरवा क नाईं आसि पासि चलत देखत अहइँ।”

²⁴He looked up, and said, “I see men; for I see them like trees walking.”

²⁵तबहिं ईसू आपन हथवा मनई क आँखिन प पुनि धरेस। फिन उ आपनि आँखिन पूरी पूरी खोलि दिहेस। ओका आँखिन क जोती मिलि गइ। अउर उ सबहुँ क नीक-नीक निहारइ लाग।

²⁵Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly.

²⁶तब ईसू ओका घरे पठइ दिहस, इ कहत कहत, “गाउँ मँ जिन जा।”

²⁶He sent him away to his house, saying, “Don’t enter into the village, nor tell anyone in the village.”

²⁷अउर ईसू अउर ओकर चेलन कैसरिया फिलिप्पी क पड़ोसी गाउँन मँ चलेन। ईसू राहे मँ चेलन स पूछेस, “लोग का कहत हीं कि मइँ कउन हउँ?”

²⁷Jesus went out, with his disciples, into the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples, “Who do men say that I am?”

²⁸अउर उ सबई जवाब दिहेन, “बपतिस्मा देइवाला यूहन्ना। मुला दूसर कछू लोग एलिय्याह अउर दूसर कछू तोहका नबियन मँ एक नबी कहत हीं।”

²⁸They told him, “John the Baptizer, and others say Elijah, but others: one of the prophets.”

²⁹फिन उ ओनसे पूछेस, “तू का कहत ह मइँ कउन हउँ?” पतरस ओसे जवाब दिहेन, “तू मसीह अहा।”

²⁹He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ.”

³⁰तबहिं ईसू ओन चेलन क चितावनी दिहेस, कि ओकरे बारे मँ कउनो स जिन कहइँ।

³⁰He commanded them that they should tell no one about him.

³¹अउर उ ओनका समझाउब सुरु करेस, “मनई क पूत क बहोत दुःख झेलइ पड़इ क होइ अउर बुजुर्ग यहूदी नेतन, मुख्ययाजकन अउर धरम सास्तिरियन स धकियाइ दीन्ह जाइ। अउर उ निहचइ ही मारि डावा जाइ अउर फिन उ तिसरे दिन जी उठी।”

³¹He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

³²ईसू ओनका इ बात सच सच बताइ दिहस। फिन पतरस ओका एक कइँती लइ गवा अउर फटकारइ लाग।

³²He spoke to them openly. Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.

³³मुला ईसू पाछे घूमि के आपन चेलन निहारेस अउर पतरस क फटकारि के कहेस, “सइतान! मोसे पाछे जा। परमेस्सर क बातन स तोहका कउनो मतलब नाहीं, मुला मनई क बातन्क तोहका मतलब अहइ।”

³³But he, turning around, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and said, “Get behind me, Satan! For you have in mind not the things of God, but the things of men.”

³⁴तब उ भीर क चेलन संग निअरे बोलाएस अउर उ ओनसे कहेस, “जदि कउनो मोरे पाछे आवा चाहत ह तउ उ आपन सब कछू तजि दे। ओका आपन क्रूस उठाइ लेइ चाही अउर ओका मोरे पाछे होइ चाही।

³⁴He called the multitude to himself with his disciples, and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

³⁵मुला जउन आपन जिन्नगी क बचावा चाहत ह, उ एका खोइ देइ। अउर जउन आपन जिन्नगी मोका अउर सुसमाचार बरे खोई उ एका बचावा चाही।

³⁵ For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it.

³⁶अगर कउनो मनई आपन आतिमा खोइ के समूची दुनिया लइ लेत ह, तउ ओसे का फाइदा?

³⁶ For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life?

³⁷अइसे कउनो मनई कउनो ठो चीज क बदले आतिमा नाहीं पाइ सकत।

³⁷ For what will a man give in exchange for his life?

³⁸जदि कउनो व्यभिचार अउर पापी पीढ़ी मँ मोर नाउँ अउर उपदेस क कारण सर्मात ह तउ मनई क पूत जब पवित्तर सरगदूतन क संग आपन परमपिता क महिमा लइ के आई तउ उहउ सर्माइ जाई।”

³⁸ For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
