¹यहूदिया क बैतलेहम मँ अब ईसू क जनम भवा तबहिं हेरेदेस राज्य करत रहा। कछू समइ बीत जाइ क पाछे कछू विद्वान जउन नछत्रन क बारे मँ पढ़त रहेन पूरब स यरूसलेम आएन।

¹Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, behold, wise men The word for “wise men” (magoi) can also mean teachers, scientists, physicians, astrologers, seers, interpreters of dreams, or sorcerers. from the east came to Jerusalem, saying,

²उ पचे पूछेन, “नवा पइदा भवा बचवा कहाँ बाटइ जउन यहूदियन क राजा अहइ? हम ओकर नछत्र क अकासे मँ देखा ह। एह बरे हम पूछत अही। हम पचे ओकर आराधना करइ आइ अही।”

²“Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.”

³जबहिं राजा हेरोदेस इ सुनेस तउ उ बहोतइ बेचइन भवा। ओकरे साथे यरूसलेम क सब मनइयम फिकिर करइ लागेन।

³When King Herod heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

⁴तउ उ यहूदी समाज सब मुख्य याजकन अउर धरम सास्तिरियन क ऍकट्ठा कइके उ पचेन स पूछेस कि मसीह क जनम कहाँ होइ क अहइ?

⁴Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ would be born.

⁵उ पचे ओका बताएन, ‘यहूदीया क बैतलहम मँ काहेकि नबी पवित्तर सास्तरन मँ इ तरह लिखा बाटइ:

⁵They said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for this is written through the prophet,

⁶ओ यहूदा क धरती प टिका अहा बैतलेम, तू यहूदा क अधिकारियन मँ कउनो तरह स छोट नाहीं काहेकि तोसे एक ठु राजा परगट होई जउन मोरे मनइनयम, इस्राएल क देख भाल करी।” मीका 5:2

⁶‘You Bethlehem, land of Judah, are in no way least among the princes of Judah: for out of you shall come forth a governor, who shall shepherd my people, Israel.’” Micah 5:2

⁷तब हेरोदेस तारा गियान क पण्डितन क बोलाएस अउर ओनसे पूछेस, कि उ तारा ठीक समइ प कब देखॅाइ पड़ा?

⁷Then Herod secretly called the wise men, and learned from them exactly what time the star appeared.

⁸फिन उ ओनका बैतलहम पठएस अउर कहेस, “जा, उ बचवा क बारे मँ नीक नीक पता लगावा अउर जब उ तू पचेन क मिलि जाइ तउ मोका बतावा जेहबरे मइँ भी आइके ओकर आराधना कइ सकउँ।”

⁸He sent them to Bethlehem, and said, “Go and search diligently for the young child. When you have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come and worship him.”

⁹फिन उ पचे राजा क बात सुनिके चल दिहेन। उ तारा जेका उ पचे अकासे मँ निकरा निहारे रहेन उ ओनके अगवा अगवा तब तलक गवा जब तलक उ ठउर पइ पहुँच नाहीं गएन जहाँ उ बचवा रहा।

⁹They, having heard the king, went their way; and behold, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, until it came and stood over where the young child was.

¹⁰जब उ पचे तारा क देखेन तउ उ सबइ आनंद स झूमि उठेन।

¹⁰When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.

¹¹उ सबइ उ पचे घरवा क भीतर गएन अउर बचवा क अउर ओकरी महतारी मरियम क संग दरसन किहन। उ पचे सास्टांग दण्डवत करेन अउर ओकर आराधना करेन। फिन आपन कीमती चीजन्क पिटारी स सोना, लोहबान अउर इत्र क भेंट चढ़ाएन।

¹¹They came into the house and saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

¹²मुला परमेस्सर ओनका सपने मँ होसियार कइ दिहस कि उ पचे हेरोदेस क पास लौटि क न जाइँ। तउ उ सबइ एक दुसरे राहे स आपन देस लौट गएन।

¹²Being warned in a dream that they shouldn’t return to Herod, they went back to their own country another way.

¹³जब उ पचे चल दिहन तउ यूसुफ क सपने मँ पर्भू क दूत परगट होइके कहेस, “उठा, बचवा क अउर ओकर महतारी क चुप्पे स लइके मिस्र भागि जा। जब ताई मइँ तोसे न कहउँ, हुवाँ ठहर्‌या। काहेकि हेरोदेस इ बचवा क जान स मरवावई बरे खोजी।”

¹³Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.”

¹⁴तउ यूसुफ खड़ा भवा अउर बचवा अउर ओकर महतारी क रातोरात मिस्र क बरे चलि पड़ा।

¹⁴He arose and took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt,

¹⁵फिन हुवाँ हेरोदेस क मउत तलक रुकि गवा। इ एह बरे भवा कि पर्भू जउन नबी स कहवाए रहा, उ पूरा होइ जाइ, “मइँ आपन पूत क मिस्र स बाहेर आवइ बरे कहेउँ।”

¹⁵and was there until the death of Herod; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called my son.” Hosea 11:1

¹⁶हेरोदेस जबहिं इ देखेस कि तारा गियानी ओकरे संग इ चाल चलेन ह, तउ उ बहोत गुस्साइ गवा। जइसा तारा गियान क पण्डितन क बताइ भए क अनुसार उ हुकुम दिहस कि बैतलहम अउर ओकरे नगिचे क पहँटा मँ दुइ साल या एसे छोटवार लरिकन क जान स मरिवाइ दीन्ह जाइ।

¹⁶Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent out, and killed all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all the surrounding countryside, from two years old and under, according to the exact time which he had learned from the wise men.

¹⁷नबी यिर्मयाह क कहा भवा बचन पूरा होइ ग:

¹⁷Then that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying,

¹⁸“रामाह मँ दुःख भरा सब्द सुना गवा, रोवइ अउर विलपइ क सुना। राहेल रोवत रही आपन बचवन बरे उ नाहीं चाहेस कि कउनो धीरा धखावइ काहेकि ओकर सबइ बचवन मरि गवा रहेन।” यिर्मयाह 31:15

¹⁸“A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; she wouldn’t be comforted, because they are no more.” Jeremiah 31:15

¹⁹फिन हेरोदेस क मउत क पाछे मिस्र मँ यूसुफ क सपन आवा ओहमाँ पर्भू क एक ठु दूत परगट भवा।

¹⁹But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying,

²⁰अउर सरगदूत ओसे कहेस, “उठि जा, बचवा अउर ओकर महतारी क लइके इस्राएल क धरती प जा काहेकि जउन बचवा क मार डावइ चाहत रहेन उ सबइ मर बिलाइ गएन।”

²⁰“Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel, for those who sought the young child’s life are dead.”

²¹तब यूसुफ उठि गवा अउर बचवा अउर ओकर महतारी क लइके इस्राएल गवा।

²¹He arose and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.

²²मुला यूसुफ जब इ सुनेस कि यहूदिया प आपन बाप हेरोदेस क जगह प अरखिलाउस राज्य करत अहइ तउ उ हुवाँ जाइ स डेराइ गवा। किन्तु सपने मँ परमेस्सर स हुकुम मिले क पाछे उ गलील पहँटा बरे चल दिहस

²²But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in the place of his father, Herod, he was afraid to go there. Being warned in a dream, he withdrew into the region of Galilee,

²³अउर हुवाँ नासरत नाउँ क नगर मँ घर बनाइके रहइ लाग; एह बरे नबियन क कहा भवा बचन पूरा होइ जाइ कि, ‘उ नासरी’ कहा जाइ।

²³and came and lived in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets: “He will be called a Nazarene.”
