¹Karon gipangaliyupo namo kaninyo, mga igsoon mahatungod sa pag-anhi sa atong Ginoong Jesucristo ug sa atong panagtigum ngadto kaniya;

¹And we ask you, brethren, in regard to the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto him,

²Nga dili ninyo pagalibugon sa madali ang inyong hunahuna, ug dili ninyo pagapagubton, bisan pinaagi sa espiritu, kun sa pulong, kun pinaagi sa sulat, ingon nga gikan kanamo, nga daw ang adlaw sa Ginoo haduol na.

²that ye be not quickly shaken in mind, nor be troubled, neither through spirit, neither through word, neither through letters as through us, as that the day of Christ hath arrived;

³Dili kamo magpalimbong ni bisan kinsa sa bisan unsa nga paagi: kay dili mahatabo, kondili moabut pag-una ang pagkahulog gikan sa pagtoo, ug ikapadayag ang tawo sa sala, ang anak sa pagkawala;

³let not any one deceive you in any manner, because — if the falling away may not come first, and the man of sin be revealed — the son of the destruction,

⁴Siya nga nagabatok, ug nagatuboy sa iyang kaugalingon batok sa tanan nga ginganlan Dios, kun ginasimba; sa pagkaagi nga magalingkod siya sa templo sa Dios, nga magapasundayag sa iyang kaugalingon ingon nga Dios.

⁴who is opposing and is raising himself up above all called God or worshipped, so that he in the sanctuary of God as God hath sat down, shewing himself off that he is God — [the day doth not come].

⁵Wala ba kamo mahanumdum nga, sa diha pa ako kaninyo, gipamulong ko na kaninyo kining mga butanga?

⁵Do ye not remember that, being yet with you, these things I said to you?

⁶Ug karon inyong hingbaloan ang nagaulang, aron igapadayag siya sa iyang kaugalingon nga panahon,

⁶and now, what is keeping down ye have known, for his being revealed in his own time,

⁷Kay ang tinago sa masupilon, nagabuhat na; apan ugaling may usa nga nagaulang karon hangtud nga kuhaon siya gikan sa taliwala.

⁷for the secret of the lawlessness doth already work, only he who is keeping down now [will hinder] — till he may be out of the way,

⁸Ug unya igapadayag ang masupilon, nga pagapatyon sa Ginoo sa espiritu sa iyang baba, ug pagalaglagon sa pagpadayag sa iyang pag-abut;

⁸and then shall be revealed the Lawless One, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the manifestation of his presence,

⁹Nga ang iyang pag-anhi, sumala sa buhat ni satanas sa tanan nga gahum ug mga ilhanan ug mga katingalahan nga bakak;

⁹[him,] whose presence is according to the working of the Adversary, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders,

¹⁰Ug sa tanang limbong sa pagkadili-matarung, alang sa mga magakawala, kay wala sila managdawat sa gugma sa kamatuoran, aron unta mangaluwas sila.

¹⁰and in all deceitfulness of the unrighteousness in those perishing, because the love of the truth they did not receive for their being saved,

¹¹Ug tungod niining hinungdan, ang Dios nagapadala kanila sa buhat sa kasaypanan, aron managtoo sila sa bakak,

¹¹and because of this shall God send to them a working of delusion, for their believing the lie,

¹²Aron mahukman silang tanan nga wala motoo sa kamatuoran, kondili gikahamut-an nila ang pagkadili-matarung.

¹²that they may be judged — all who did not believe the truth, but were well pleased in the unrighteousness.

¹³Apan kinahanglan kami gihapon magpasalamat sa Dios tungod kaninyo, mga igsoon nga hinigugma sa Ginoo; kay mga pinili kamo sa Dios, sukad sa sinugdan ngadto sa kaluwasan tungod sa pagpakabalaan sa Espiritu, ug pagtoo sa kamatuoran;

¹³And we — we ought to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, beloved by the Lord, that God did choose you from the beginning to salvation, in sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth,

¹⁴Nga niini iyang gitawag kamo pinaagi sa among Maayong Balita, sa paghiagum sa himaya sa atong Ginoong Jesucristo.

¹⁴to which He did call you through our good news, to the acquiring of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ;

¹⁵Busa, mga igsoon, magmalig-on kamo, ug huptan ninyo ang mga pagtolon-an nga gitudlo kaninyo, bisan pinaagi sa pulong, kun bisan pinaagi sa among sulat.

¹⁵so, then, brethren, stand ye fast, and hold the deliverances that ye were taught, whether through word, whether through our letter;

¹⁶Karon ang ato gayud nga Ginoong Jesucristo, ug ang Dios nga Amahan nato, nga nahigugma kanato ug naghatag kanato sa walay katapusang paglipay, ug maayong paglaum pinaagi sa gracia,

¹⁶and may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and our God and Father, who did love us, and did give comfort age-during, and good hope in grace,

¹⁷Maglipay sa inyong mga kasingkasing, ug magpalig-on kaninyo sa tanang maayong buhat ug pulong.

¹⁷comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.
