1Sa pagkatinuod adunay mina alang sa salapi, Ug usa ka dapit alang sa bulawan nga ilang pagaulayon.
1Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold which they refine;
2Ang puthaw pagakuhaon gikan sa yuta, Ug ang tumbaga pagatunawon gikan sa bato.
2Iron is taken out of the dust, and copper is molten out of the stone.
3Ang tawo magapahunong sa kangitngit, Ug didto sa kahiladman magapangita, Sa mga bato nga atua sa mangitngit ug landong sa kamatayon.
3[Man] putteth an end to the darkness, and exploreth to the utmost limit, the stones of darkness and of the shadow of death.
4Halayo sa pinuy-anan sa mga tawo siya magabugwal sa usa ka gahong; Sila hingkalimtan sa tiil nga moagi sa ibabaw, Sila nanagbitay halayo sa mga katawohan, sila nanagtabyog.
4He openeth a shaft far from the inhabitants [of the earth]: forgotten of the foot, they hang suspended; away below men they hover.
5Mahitungod sa yuta, gikan niana magagula ang tinapay; Ug ang ilalum niana ingon ug gibali pinaagi sa kalayo.
5As for the earth, out of it cometh bread, and underneath it is turned up as by fire;
6Ang mga bato niini maoy dapit sa mga zafiro, Ug kana may mga pulvos sa bulawan.
6The stones of it are the place of sapphires, and it hath dust of gold.
7Nianang dalana walay langgam nga dumadagit nga nagpanghibalo, Ni makakita niana ang mata sa ananangkil:
7It is a path no bird of prey knoweth, and the vulture's eye hath not seen it;
8Ang mga mananap nga palabilabihon wala makatala niana, Ni makaagi dinha ang mabangis nga leon.
8The proud beasts have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed over it.
9Gibutang niya ang iyang kamot sa ibabaw sa batong santikan; Gilintuwad niya ang mga bukid hangtud sa mga gamut.
9[Man] putteth forth his hand upon the flinty rock, he overturneth the mountains by the root.
10Siya nagahimo ug mga kanal sa taliwala sa mga bato; Ug ang iyang mata makakita sa tanang butang bililhon.
10He cutteth out channels in the rocks, and his eye seeth every precious thing.
11Siya magabugkos sa mga kasapaan aron dili na manaligdig; Ug ang butang nga tinago, iyang gibutyag sa kahayag.
11He bindeth the streams that they drip not, and what is hidden he bringeth forth to light.
12Apan asa ba ang kaalam igkita? Ug hain ba ang pinuy-anan sa salabutan?
12But wisdom, where shall it be found? and where is the place of understanding?
13Ang tawo wala masayud sa bili niana; Ni igkita kini sa yuta sa mga buhi.
13Man knoweth not the value thereof; and it is not found in the land of the living.
14Ang kahiladman nagaingon: Kini wala diri kanako; Ug ang dagat nagaingon: Kana wala diri kanako.
14The deep saith, It is not in me; and the sea saith, It is not with me.
15Kana dili mabatonan tungod sa bulawan, Ni ang salapi pagatimbangon tungod sa bili niini.
15Choice gold cannot be given for it, nor silver be weighed for its price.
16Kini dili kabilhan sa bulawan sa Ophir, Sa malahalon nga onyx, kun sa zafiro.
16It is not set in the balance with gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, and the sapphire.
17Ang bulawan ug bildo dili ikatanding niini, Ni kabayloan kini ug mga lunsay nga bulawan.
17Gold and glass cannot be compared to it, nor vessels of fine gold be its exchange.
18Ang guso ug ang salamin dili pagahisgutan: Oo, ang bili sa kaalam labaw pa kay sa mga mutya.
18Corals and crystal are no more remembered; yea, the acquisition of wisdom is above rubies.
19Ang topacio sa Ethiopia dili ikagtanding niini, Ni kabilhan kini sa bulawang lunsay.
19The topaz of Ethiopia shall not be compared to it, neither shall it be set in the balance with pure gold.
20Diin man diay magagikan ang kaalam? Ug hain man ang dapit sa salabutan?
20Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
21Sanglit tinago man gikan sa mga mata sa mga buhi, Ug sinalipdan gikan sa kalanggaman sa kalangitan.
21For it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and concealed from the fowl of the heavens.
22Ang Kagun-oban ug Kamatayon nanag-ingon: Ang kagahub niana nabatian namo sa among mga igdulungog.
22Destruction and death say, We have heard its report with our ears.
23Ang Dios nasayud sa dalan niini, Ug siya nahibalo sa dapit niana.
23God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth its place:
24Kay siya nagatan-aw ngadto sa mga kinatumyan sa yuta, Ug nagasud-ong sa ilalum sa tibook langit;
24For he looketh to the ends of the earth, he seeth under the whole heaven.
25Sa iyang pagtimbang sa hangin: Oo, sa taksanan ang katubigan iyang gitakus.
25In making a weight for the wind, and meting out the waters by measure,
26Sa diha nga siya nagbuhat ug balaod sa ulan, Ug alagianan alang sa kilat sa dalugdug;
26In appointing a statute for the rain, and a way for the thunder's flash:
27Unya siya nakakita niini, ug nagsaysay niini; Iyang gipahaluna kini, oo, ug kini gipangita.
27Then did he see it, and declare it; he established it, yea, and searched it out;
28Ug miingon siya sa tawo: Ania karon, ang kahadlok sa Ginoo, nga mao ang kaalam; Ug ang paglikay sa dautan mao ang salabutan.
28And unto man he said, Lo, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
