1Unya mitubag si Bildad ang Suhitanhon, ug miingon:
1And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
2Hangtud anus-a ba mosulti ikaw niining mga butanga? Ug hangtud anus-a ang mga pulong sa imong baba mahisama sa usa ka hangin nga makusog?
2How long wilt thou speak these things? and the words of thy mouth be a strong wind?
3Balit-aron ba sa Dios ang justicia? Kun balit-aron ba sa Makagagahum ang pagkamatarung?
3Doth ùGod pervert judgment, and the Almighty pervert justice?
4Kong ang imong mga anak nakasala batok kaniya, Ug siya mitugyan kanila ngadto sa kamot sa ilang paglapas;
4If thy children have sinned against him, he hath also given them over into the hand of their transgression.
5Kong ikaw sa Dios mosingkamot sa pagpangita, Ug maghimo ka sa imong pangamuyo sa Makagagahum;
5If thou seek earnestly unto ùGod, and make thy supplication to the Almighty,
6Kong ikaw maputli ug matul-id pa unta, Sa pagkamatuod nahigmata unta siya tungod kanimo, Ug magahimong mauswagon sa puloy-anan sa imong pagkamatarung.
6If thou be pure and upright, surely now he will awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous;
7Ug bisan diyutay ra ang imong sinugdan, Apan magauswag kaayo ang imong kaulahian.
7And though thy beginning was small, yet thine end shall be very great.
8Kay susiha, ipangamuyo ko kanimo, ang panahon nga ming-agi, Ug magpahimulos ka sa imong kaugalingon niadtong ginapangita sa ilang mga amahan.
8For inquire, I pray thee, of the former generation, and attend to the researches of their fathers;
9(Kay kita ingon lamang sa kagahapon, ug walay hibangkaagan, Kay anino lamang ang atong mga adlaw sa ibabaw sa yuta):
9For we are [but] of yesterday, and know nothing, for our days upon earth are a shadow.
10Dili ba sila motudlo kanimo, ug kanimo mosugilon, Ug magasulti sa mga pulong nga gikan sa ilang kasingkasing?
10Shall not they teach thee, [and] tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
11Makatubo ba ang nipa kong walay lapok? Makatubo ba ang tangbo kong walay tubig?
11Doth the papyrus shoot up without mire? doth the reed-grass grow without water?
12Sa diha nga lunhaw pa kini ug dili pinutol, Kini malaya una sa ubang kabunglayonan.
12Whilst it is yet in its greenness [and] not cut down, it withereth before any [other] grass.
13Mao man ang kadalanan sa tanan nga mahikalimot sa Dios; Ug ang paglaum sa tawo nga walay Dios mawagtang:
13So are the paths of all that forget ùGod; and the profane man's hope shall perish,
14Ang iyang pagsalig pagaputlon, Ug ang iyang kalig-onan maoy usa ka balay sa lawa-lawa.
14Whose confidence shall be cut off, and his reliance is a spider's web.
15Siya mosandig sa iyang balay, apan kana mahuyang; Mopuyo siya dinha, apan kana dili molungtad.
15He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand; he shall lay hold on it, but it shall not endure.
16Siya malunhaw sa atubangan sa adlaw, Ug ang iyang mga salingsing molabaw sa iyang tanaman.
16He is full of sap before the sun, and his sprout shooteth forth over his garden;
17Ang iyang mga gamut mangapot duol sa tapok nga bato, Iyang makita ang dapit sa mga kabatoan.
17His roots are entwined about the stoneheap; he seeth the place of stones.
18Kong siya pagapukanon gikan sa iyang dapit, Nan kini molimod kaniya, nga magaingon : Wala ako makakita kanimo.
18If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him: I have not seen thee!
19Ania karon, kini mao ang kalipay sa iyang dalan; Ug gikan sa yuta ang uban manggula.
19Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the dust shall others grow.
20Ania karon, ang Dios dili mosalikway sa usa ka tawong hingpit. Ni motabang siya sa mga mamumuhat sa dautan.
20Behold, ùGod will not cast off a perfect man, neither will he take evil-doers by the hand.
21Ang imong baba pagapun-on niya sa katawa, Ug kasadya sa imong mga ngabil.
21Whilst he would fill thy mouth with laughing and thy lips with shouting,
22Kadtong managdumot kanimo pagasul-oban sa kaulaw; Ug ang balong-balong niadtong mga dautan mangawagtang.
22They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked be no more.
