¹And it came to pass when Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem heard that Joshua had taken Ai and had utterly destroyed it, that he had done to Ai and its king as he had done to Jericho and its king, and that the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them,

²that they feared greatly; for Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and it was greater than Ai, and all its men were mighty.

³And Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent to Hoham king of Hebron, and to Piream king of Jarmuth, and to Japhia king of Lachish, and to Debir king of Eglon, saying,

⁴Umari kamo kanako, ug tabangi ako, ug awayon ta ang Gabaon; kay kana nagpakigdait kang Josue ug sa mga anak sa Israel.

⁴Come up to me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon; for it has made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.

⁵Busa ang lima ka mga hari sa mga Amorehanon, ang hari sa Jerusalem, ang hari sa Hebron, ang hari sa Jarmut, ang hari sa Lachis ug ang hari sa Eglon, nanagtigum sa ilang kaugalingon, ug nangadto, sila ug ang tanan nilang mga panon sa kasundalohan, ug nanagpahaluna sa atbang sa Gabaon ug nakiggubat batok kaniya.

⁵And the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, [and] the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their armies, and they encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.

⁶And the men of Gibeon sent to Joshua, to the camp at Gilgal, saying, Withdraw not thy hand from thy servants: come up to us quickly, and save us and help us; for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the hill-country are gathered against us.

⁷So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he and all the people of war with him, even all the valiant men.

⁸Ug si Jehova miingon kang Josue: Ayaw kahadloki sila: kay gihatag ko na sila sa imong mga kamot; walay bisan usa ka tawo kanila nga makasukol kanimo.

⁸And Jehovah said to Joshua, Fear them not; for into thy hand have I given them: not a man of them shall stand before thee.

⁹Busa si Josue miadto kanila dihadiha; kay siya mitungas sa tibook nga gabii gikan sa Gilgal.

⁹And Joshua came upon them suddenly; he went up from Gilgal all night.

¹⁰Ug sila gigubot ni Jehova diha sa atubangan sa Israel, ug iyang gipatay sila sa usa ka dakung kamatay didto sa Gabaon, ug gigukod sila ngadto sa tungasan sa Beth-oron, ug gilaglag sila hangtud sa Azeca ug ngadto sa Maceda.

¹⁰And Jehovah discomfited them before Israel, and smote them [with] a great slaughter at Gibeon; and he chased them on the way of the ascent of Beth-horon, and smote them up to Azekah and Makkedah.

¹¹Ug nahitabo, sa diha nga sila nangalagiw gikan sa atubangan sa tibook Israel, sa diha pa sila sa lugsonganan sa Beth-oron, nga si Jehova nagpaatak sa dagkung bato gikan sa langit sa ibabaw nila hangtud sa Azeca ug sila nangamatay: labing daghan kanila ang nangamatay sa ulan-sa-yelo-nga-bato kay sa mga napatay sa mga anak sa Israel pinaagi sa ilang mga pinuti.

¹¹And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, -- they were at the descent of Beth-horon, -- that Jehovah cast down great stones from heaven upon them up to Azekah, and they died. They were more who died with the hailstones than they whom the children of Israel had slain with the sword.

¹²Unya misulti si Josue kang Jehova sa adlaw nga si Jehova mitugyan sa mga Amorehanon sa mga anak sa Israel; ug miingon siya sa atubangan sa Israel: Adlaw, humonong ka sa ibabaw sa Gabaon; Ug ikaw, Bulan, sa walog sa Ajalon.

¹²Then spoke Joshua to Jehovah in the day when Jehovah gave up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand still upon Gibeon; And thou, moon, in the valley of Ajalon!

¹³Ug ang Adlaw mihunong, ug ang Bulan wala lumakaw, Hangtud ang nasud nakabalus sa ilang mga kaaway.

¹³And the sun stood still, and the moon remained where it was, until the nation had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? And the sun remained standing in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a full day.

¹⁴Ug walay adlaw nga sama niana, sa una kun sa ulahi niya, nga si Jehova nagpatalinghug sa tingog sa tawo: kay si Jehova nakig-away alang kang Israel.

¹⁴And there was no day like that before it or after it, that Jehovah hearkened to the voice of a man; for Jehovah fought for Israel.

¹⁵Ug si Josue mipauli ug ang tibook Israel uban kaniya, ngadto sa campo sa Gilgal.

¹⁵And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp, to Gilgal.

¹⁶Ug kining lima ka mga hari nangalagiw, ug nanago sa langub sa Maceda.

¹⁶And these five kings fled, and hid themselves in the cave at Makkedah.

¹⁷Ug gisugilon kang Josue nga nagaingon: Ang lima ka mga hari hingkaplagan nga nanagtago didto sa langub sa Maceda.

¹⁷And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings have been found, hid in the cave at Makkedah.

¹⁸And Joshua said, Roll great stones before the mouth of the cave, and set men before it to keep them.

¹⁹Apan ayaw kamo paglangan; sunda ang inyong mga kaaway, ug patyon ang kinaulahian kanila; ayaw sila pagpasudla sa ilang mga ciudad: kay si Jehova nga inyong Dios naghatag na kanila sa inyong kamot.

¹⁹And ye, stay not, pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities; for Jehovah your God has given them into your hand.

²⁰Ug nahatabo, sa ming-undang si Josue ug ang mga anak sa Israel sa pagpamatay kanila sa dakung kamatay, hangtud nga sila nangahurot ug ang salin nga nahabilin kanila nakasulod na ngadto sa mga ciudad nga kinutaan,

²⁰And it came to pass when Joshua and the children of Israel had ended smiting them with a very great slaughter, until they were consumed, that the remnant which remained of them entered into fortified cities;

²¹Nga ang tibook katawohan namauli sa campo ngadto kang Josue didto sa Maceda sa kalinaw: wala may nanulti batok sa mga anak sa Israel.

²¹and all the people returned to the camp to Joshua, at Makkedah, in peace; none moved his tongue against the children of Israel.

²²Unya miingon si Josue: Ukbi ang baba sa langub ug paggulaa kanang lima ka mga hari ngari kanako gikan sa langub.

²²And Joshua said, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring forth to me those five kings out of the cave.

²³Ug gihimo nila ug gipagula kadtong lima ka mga hari ngadto kaniya gikan sa langub, ang hari sa Jerusalem, ang hari sa Hebron, ang hari sa Jerimoth, ang hari sa Lachis, ug ang hari sa Eglon.

²³And they did so, and brought forth to him those five kings out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon.

²⁴Ug nahitabo sa diha nga gipagula na kadtong lima ka mga hari ngadto kang Josue, nga si Josue mitawag sa tanang mga tawo sa Israel, ug miingon sa mga pangulo sa mga tawo sa pag-awayan nga uban kaniya: Dumuol kamo, ug ibutang ninyo ang inyong mga tiil sa mga liog niining lima ka mga hari. Ug mingduol sila ug gibutang ang ilang mga tiil sa liog nila.

²⁴And it came to pass when they had brought forth those kings to Joshua, that Joshua called to all the men of Israel, and said to the captains of the men of war who went with him, Come forward, put your feet on the necks of these kings. And they came forward and put their feet on their necks.

²⁵Ug si Josue miingon kanila: Ayaw kahadlok, ayaw kaluya; magmabaskugon kamo ug magmaisugon kamo: kay ingon niana ang pagabuhaton ni Jehova sa tanan ninyong mga kaaway nga inyong pagaawayon.

²⁵And Joshua said to them, Fear not, neither be dismayed; be strong and courageous, for thus will Jehovah do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.

²⁶Ug unya gitigbas sila ni Josue, ug gipatay sila, ug gibitay sila sa ibabaw sa lima ka kahoy: ug nanagbitay sila sa ibabaw sa mga kahoy hangtud sa kahaponon.

²⁶And afterwards Joshua smote them, and put them to death, and hanged them on five trees; and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.

²⁷And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave where they had been hid, and laid great stones before the cave's mouth, [which remain] to this very day.

²⁸And Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, him and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed; he let none remain; and he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.

²⁹Ug si Josue milabay gikan sa Maceda, ug ang tibook Israel kuyog kaniya, ngadto sa Libna, ug gigubat ang Libna:

²⁹And Joshua passed, and all Israel with him, from Makkedah to Libnah, and fought against Libnah.

³⁰Ug si Jehova naghatag usab niini, ingon man ang hari niana, ngadto sa kamot sa Israel; ug iyang gitigbas kini sa pinuti, ug ang tanang mga kalag nga didto; walay mausa nga iyang gibilin didto; ug gihimo niya sa hari niini sama sa iyang gihimo sa hari sa Jerico.

³⁰And Jehovah gave it also and the king thereof into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain in it: and he did to the king thereof as he had done to the king of Jericho.

³¹Ug si Josue milabay gikan sa Libna, ug ang tibook Israel kuyog kaniya, ngadto sa Lachis, ug mingpahaluna didto, ug gigubat niya:

³¹And Joshua passed, and all Israel with him, from Libnah to Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it.

³²Ug ang Lachis gihatag ni Jehova sa kamot sa Israel; ug gikuha niya kini sa ikaduhang adlaw, ug gitigbas niya pinaagi sa sulab sa pinuti, ug ang tanang mga kalag nga didto, sumala sa tanan nga iyang gibuhat sa Libna.

³²And Jehovah gave Lachish into the hand of Israel; and they took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.

³³Ug unya si Horam, ang hari sa Gezer, mitungas sa pagtabang sa Lachis; ug si Josue nagpatay kaniya ug sa iyang katawohan hangtud nga wala nay nahabilin kanila.

³³Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.

³⁴Ug si Josue milabay gikan sa Lachis ug ang tibook Israel uban kaniya ngadto sa Eglon; ug sa atbang niadto mingpahaluna sila, ug ilang gigubat kadto.

³⁴And Joshua, and all Israel with him, passed from Lachish to Eglon; and they encamped against it, and fought against it.

³⁵Ug ilang gikuha kadto niadtong adlawa; ug gitigbas kadto pinaagi sa sulab sa iyang pinuti; ug ang tanang mga kalag nga didto niadtong adlawa iyang gihurot paglalag sumala sa iyang gibuhat sa Lachis.

³⁵And they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword; and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed on that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.

³⁶Ug si Josue mitungas gikan sa Eglon, ug ang tibook Israel kuyog kaniya ngadto sa Hebron; ug ilang giaway kadto;

³⁶And Joshua went up, and all Israel with him, from Eglon to Hebron; and they fought against it.

³⁷Ug ilang gikuha kini, ug gitigbas pinaagi sa sulab sa pinuti ug ang hari niini ug ang tanang mga ciudad niini, ug ang tanang mga kalag nga diha niini; walay mausa nga iyang gibilin sumala sa iyang gibuhat didto sa Eglon: apan iyang gilaglag gayud kini ug ang tanang mga kalag nga diha niini.

³⁷And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein: he let none remain, according to all that he had done to Eglon; and he utterly destroyed it, and all the souls that were therein.

³⁸Ug si Josue mibalik, ug ang tibook Israel kuyog kaniya ngadto sa Debir ug nakig-away batok niini:

³⁸And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it.

³⁹Ug iyang gikuha kini, ug ang hari niini ug ang tanang mga ciudad niini; ug ilang gitigbas sila sa sulab sa pinuti, ug gihurot pagpanglaglag ang tanang mga kalag nga diha niini; walay mausa nga gibilin niya: sumala sa iyang gibuhat sa Hebron, iyang gibuhat usab sa Debir ug sa hari niini; ingon sa iyang gibuhat usab sa Libna ug sa iyang hari niini.

³⁹And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: as he had done to Hebron, and as he had done to Libnah, and to the king thereof, so he did to Debir and to the king thereof.

⁴⁰Busa gilaglag ni Josue ang tibook nga yuta, ang dapit sa kabungtoran, ug ang Habagatan, ug ang kapatagan, ug ang kawalogan, ug ang tanan nilang mga hari: walay gibilin niya, kondili gilaglag gayud niya ang tanan nga nagaginhawa, sumala sa gisugo ni Jehova, ang Dios sa Israel.

⁴⁰And Joshua smote the whole country, the mountain, and the south, and the lowland, and the hill-slopes, and all their kings: he let none remain, but he utterly destroyed all that breathed, as Jehovah the God of Israel had commanded.

⁴¹Ug si Josue naglaglag kanila gikan sa Cades-barnea hangtud sa Gaza, ug ang tanang kayutaan sa Gosen, hangtud sa Gabaon.

⁴¹And Joshua smote them from Kadesh-barnea even to Gazah, and all the country of Goshen, even to Gibeon;

⁴²Ug ang tanang mga hari ug ang ilang mga yuta gikuha ni Josue sa makausa kay si Jehova, ang Dios sa Israel, nakig-away alang sa Israel.

⁴²and all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time; for Jehovah the God of Israel fought for Israel.

⁴³And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp, to Gilgal.
