¹Ug siya nagasulti kanila ug usa ka sambingay sa pagpaila nga sila kinahanglan kanunay magaampo ug dili magakaluya;

¹And he spoke also a parable to them to the purport that they should always pray and not faint,

²Nga nagaingon: Sa usa ka lungsod may usa ka maghuhukom nga walay pagkahadlok sa Dios, bisan pagkataha sa mga tawo.

²saying, There was a judge in a city, not fearing God and not respecting man:

³Ug may usa ka babaye nga balo didto niadtong lungsora nga miadto kaniya sa masubsub sa pag-ingon: Ipanimalus ako batok sa akong kaaway.

³and there was a widow in that city, and she came to him, saying, Avenge me of mine adverse party.

⁴Ug wala siya una magtagad, apan sa ulahi nag-ingon sa iyang kaugalingon: Bisan wala ako mahadlok sa Dios, bisan mataha sa tawo;

⁴And he would not for a time; but afterwards he said within himself, If even I fear not God and respect not man,

⁵Apan, tungod kay ginasamukan ako niining babaye nga balo, magpanimalus ako alang kaniya, tingali unya magapaguol siya kanako tungod sa iyang pag-utas ug balikbalik.

⁵at any rate because this widow annoys me I will avenge her, that she may not by perpetually coming completely harass me.

⁶Ug miingon ang Ginoo: Patalinghugi ninyo ang ginaingon sa maghuhukom nga dili matarung.

⁶And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge says.

⁷Ug dili ba ang Dios magpanimalus alang sa iyang mga pinili nga nagasinggit kaniya sa adlaw ug sa gabii, ug bisan pa siya nagamapailubon kanila?

⁷And shall not God at all avenge his elect, who cry to him day and night, and he bears long as to them?

⁸Nagaingon ako kaninyo nga siya magapanimalus alang kanila sa madali. Bisan pa niini, kong moanhi ang Anak sa tawo, makakaplag ba siya ug pagtoo sa yuta?

⁸I say unto you that he will avenge them speedily. But when the Son of man comes, shall he indeed find faith on the earth?

⁹Ug miingon usab siya niini nga sambingay mahatungod niadtong uban nga nagasalig sa ilang kaugalingon nga sila mga matarung, ug nagatamay sa uban.

⁹And he spoke also to some, who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and made nothing of all the rest [of men], this parable:

¹⁰Duha ka tawo mingsaka sa templo sa pag-ampo: ang usa Fariseo, ug ang usa maniningil sa buhis.

¹⁰Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-gatherer.

¹¹Ang Fariseo nagatindog ug nagaampo sa ingon niini sa iyang kaugalingon: Oh, Dios! Nagapasalamat ako kanimo nga ako dili ingon sa ubang mga tawo, mga mangingilog, dili mga matarung, mga mananapaw; ug dili usab ingon niining maniningil sa buhis.

¹¹The Pharisee, standing, prayed thus to himself: God, I thank thee that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax-gatherer.

¹²Nagapuasa ako makaduha sa semana, nagabayad ako sa mga ikapulo sa tanang makita ko.

¹²I fast twice in the week, I tithe everything I gain.

¹³Apan ang maniningil sa buhis nga nagatindog sa halayo dili ngani buot bisan lamang sa pagyahat sa iyang mga mata ngadto sa langit, kondili hinonoa nagapamukpok sa iyang dughan nga nagaingon: Oh, Dios! malooy ka kanako nga usa ka makasasala.

¹³And the tax-gatherer, standing afar off, would not lift up even his eyes to heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, O God, have compassion on me, the sinner.

¹⁴Nagaingon ako kaninyo nga kining tawohana mipauli sa iyang balay nga gipakamatarung labi kay sa usa; kay ang magapataas sa iyang kaugalingon pagapaubson, apan ang magapaubos pagapatas-on.

¹⁴I say unto you, This [man] went down to his house justified rather than that [other]. For every one who exalts himself shall be humbled, and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.

¹⁵Ug ilang gidala usab ngadto kaniya ang ilang mga bata, aron iyang pagahikapon sila. Apan sa pagkakita sa iyang mga tinon-an niini, gibadlong sila.

¹⁵And they brought to him also infants that he might touch them, but the disciples when they saw [it] rebuked them.

¹⁶Apan gitawag ni Jesus sila ngadto kaniya nga nagaingon: Pasagdi ninyo nga moanhi kanako ang mga bata, ug dili ninyo sila pagdid-an, kay ang gingharian sa Dios alang sa mga sama kanila.

¹⁶But Jesus calling them to [him] said, Suffer little children to come to me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of God.

¹⁷Sa pagkamatuod nagaingon ako kaninyo, nga bisan kinsa nga dili modawat sa gingharian sa Dios ingon sa usa ka bata, dili gayud siya makasulod didto.

¹⁷Verily I say to you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

¹⁸Ug may usa ka punoan nangutana kaniya nga nagaingon: Magtutudlo nga maayo! Unsa ang akong pagabuhaton aron mapanunod ko ang kinabuhi nga walay katapusan?

¹⁸And a certain ruler asked him saying, Good teacher, having done what, shall I inherit eternal life?

¹⁹Ug si Jesus miingon kaniya: Nganong ginganlan mo ako nga maayo? Walay bisan kinsa nga maayo kondili usa lamang, ang Dios.

¹⁹But Jesus said to him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, God.

²⁰Ikaw nahibalo sa mga sugo: Dili ka manapaw; dili ka magpatay; dili ka mangawat, dili ka magsaksi sa bakak; tumahod ka sa imong amahan ug sa imong inahan.

²⁰Thou knowest the commandments: Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

²¹Ug siya miingon: Tanan kining mga butanga ginabantayan ko sukad pa sa akong pagkabata.

²¹And he said, All these things have I kept from my youth.

²²Ug sa nakadungog niini si Jesus, miingon kaniya: Usa pa ka butang ang nakulang kanimo; ibaligya ang tanan nga imong gibatonan, ug ipamahinbahin sa mga kabus, ug ikaw makabaton ug bahandi sa langit; ug umari ka, sumunod kanako.

²²And when Jesus had heard this, he said to him, One thing is lacking to thee yet: Sell all that thou hast and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in the heavens, and come, follow me.

²³Apan sa iyang pagkadungog niining mga butanga, nagsubo siya sa hilabihan gayud, kay siya dato kaayo.

²³But when he heard this he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich.

²⁴Ug si Jesus, sa nagtan-aw kaniya, miingon: Pagkamakuli gayud sa mga adunay bahandi ang pagsulod sa gingharian sa Dios!

²⁴But when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, he said, How difficultly shall those who have riches enter into the kingdom of God;

²⁵Kay labi pang masayon ang pagsulod sa usa ka camello sa mata sa usa ka dagum kay sa usa ka dato ang pagsulod sa gingharian sa Dios.

²⁵for it is easier for a camel to enter through a needle's eye than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

²⁶Ug ang mga nakadungog niini nanag-ingon: Nan, kinsa ang arang mamaluwas?

²⁶And those who heard it said, And who can be saved?

²⁷Apan siya miingon: Ang mga butang nga dili mahimo sa tawo mahimo sa Dios.

²⁷But he said, The things that are impossible with men are possible with God.

²⁸Ug miingon si Pedro: Ania karon, gipamiyaan namo ang among mga kaugalingon ug mingsunod kanimo.

²⁸And Peter said, Behold, *we* have left all things and have followed thee.

²⁹Ug siya miingon kanila: Sa pagkamatuod nagaingon ako kaninyo, nga walay bisan kinsa nga mibiya sa iyang balay, kun sa mga ginikanan, kun sa mga igsoon, kun sa asawa, kun sa mga anak tungod sa gingharian sa Dios.

²⁹And he said to them, Verily I say to you, There is no one who has left home, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,

³⁰Nga dili makadawat niining panahona ug labaw pa, ug sa panahon nga palaabuton, sa kinabuhi nga walay katapusan.

³⁰who shall not receive manifold more at this time, and in the coming age life eternal.

³¹Ug iyang gitawag ngadto kaniya ang napulo ug duha ug miingon kanila: Ania karon, nagatungas kita sa Jerusalem, ug ang tanang mga butang nga gisulat sa mga manalagna matuman dinhi sa Anak sa tawo.

³¹And he took the twelve to [him] and said to them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written of the Son of man by the prophets shall be accomplished;

³²Kay igatugyan siya ngadto sa mga Gentil, ug pagapatyon, ug pagapakaulawan, ug pagalud-an.

³²for he shall be delivered up to the nations, and shall be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon.

³³Ug sila magahampak ug magapatay kaniya, ug sa ikatolo ka adlaw mabanhaw siya.

³³And when they have scourged [him] they will kill him; and on the third day he will rise again.

³⁴Ug sila wala makasabut sa bisan unsa niining mga butanga; ug kining mga pulonga nalilong kanila, ug wala nila matukib ang giingon kanila.

³⁴And they understood nothing of these things. And this word was hidden from them, and they did not know what was said.

³⁵Ug nahatabo nga sa nagakahaduol siya sa Jerico, may usa ka buta nga nagalingkod sa daplin sa dalan, nga nagapakilimos.

³⁵And it came to pass when he came into the neighbourhood of Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the wayside begging.

³⁶Ug sa hingdunggan niya ang panon sa katawohan nga nanagpangagi, nangutana siya kong unsa kadto.

³⁶And when he heard the crowd passing, he inquired what this might be.

³⁷Ug sila nagsugilon kaniya nga si Jesus nga Nazaretnon milabay.

³⁷And they told him that Jesus the Nazaraean was passing by.

³⁸Ug misinggit siya nga nagaingon: Jesus, Anak ni David! kaloy-i ako.

³⁸And he called out saying, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.

³⁹Ug ang mga nanag-una, nagbadlong kaniya nga humilum siya, apan siya misamut pagsinggit: Anak ni David! kaloy-i ako.

³⁹And those [who were] going before rebuked him that he might be silent; but *he* cried out so much the more, Son of David, have mercy on me.

⁴⁰Ug mihunong si Jesus ug nagsugo nga siya dad-on ngadto kaniya, ug sa nahiduol na kini, iyang gipangutana.

⁴⁰And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be led to him. And when he drew nigh he asked him [saying],

⁴¹Sa pag-ingon: Unsa ang buot mo nga pagabuhaton ko kanimo? Ug siya miingon: Ginoo, nga makadawat ako sa akong igtatan-aw.

⁴¹What wilt thou that I shall do to thee? And he said, Lord, that I may see.

⁴²Ug si Jesus miingon kaniya: Dawata ang imong igtatan-aw, ang imong pagtoo maoy nagluwas kanimo.

⁴²And Jesus said to him, See: thy faith has healed thee.

⁴³Ug dihadiha siya nakadawat sa iyang igtatan-aw, ug minunot kaniya nga nagahimaya sa Dios. Ug sa hingkit-an kini sa tanang mga tawo, nagdayeg sila sa Dios.

⁴³And immediately he saw, and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people when they saw [it] gave praise to God.
