¹Ug gilayon sa pagkabuntag, nanagsabut ang mga punoang sacerdote uban ang mga anciano ug mga escriba ug ang tibook nga sanhedrin, ug sa gigapus nila si Jesus, ilang gidala ug gitugyan siya kang Pilato.

¹And immediately in the morning the chief priests, having taken counsel with the elders and scribes and the whole sanhedrim, bound Jesus and carried [him] away, and delivered [him] up to Pilate.

²Ug si Pilato nangutana kaniya: Ikaw ba ang hari sa mga Judio? Ug siya mitubag ug miingon kaniya: Ginaingon mo.

²And Pilate asked him, Art *thou* the King of the Jews? And he answered and said to him, *Thou* sayest.

³Ug ang mga punoang sacerdote nagasumbong kaniya mahatungod sa daghang mga butang.

³And the chief priests accused him urgently.

⁴Ug si Pilato nangutana pag-usab kaniya, nga nagaingon: Wala ka bay pagtubag bisan unsa? Tan-awa pagkadaghang mga butang, nga ginasumbong nila batok kanimo.

⁴And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? See of how many things they bear witness against thee.

⁵Apan si Jesus wala gihapon motubag bisan unsa, sa pagkaagi nga nahibulong si Pilato.

⁵But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate marvelled.

⁶Ug sa fiesta nabatasan niya ang pagbuhi alang kanila ug usa ka binilanggo, nga ilang pagapangayoon.

⁶But at [the] feast he released to them one prisoner, whomsoever they begged [of him].

⁷Ug dihay usa nga ginganlan si Barrabas, nga ginapus uban sa mga mingsukol sa kagamhanan, mga tawo nga sa panahon sa kagubot nakapatay.

⁷Now there was the [person] named Barabbas bound with those who had made insurrection with [him], [and] that had committed murder in the insurrection.

⁸Ug misaka ang panon sa katawohan ug misugod sa pagpangayo kaniya, nga pagabuhaton niya ang ingon sa nabatasan niyang gibuhat kanila.

⁸And the crowd crying out began to beg [that he would do] to them as he had always done.

⁹Ug si Pilato mitubag kanila, sa pag-ingon: Buot ba kamo nga pagabuhian ko kaninyo ang Hari sa mga Judio?

⁹But Pilate answered them saying, Will ye that I release to you the King of the Jews?

¹⁰Kay iyang hingbaloan nga tungod sa kasina gitugyan siya sa mga punoang sacerdote.

¹⁰for he knew that the chief priests had delivered him up through envy.

¹¹Apan ang mga punoang sacerdote nagsugyot sa panon sa katawohan aron pagabuhian hinoon kanila si Barrabas.

¹¹But the chief priests stirred up the crowd that he might rather release Barabbas to them.

¹²Ug mitubag pag-usab si Pilato ug miingon kanila: Nan, unsay buot ninyo, nga pagabuhaton ko sa ginganlan ninyo nga Hari sa mga Judio?

¹²And Pilate answering said to them again, What will ye then that I do [to him] whom ye call King of the Jews?

¹³Ug sila misinggit pag-usab: Ilansang siya sa cruz.

¹³And they cried out again, Crucify him.

¹⁴Ug si Pilato miingon kanila: Kay ngano, unsa ang kadautan nga gibuhat niya? Apan sila misinggit sa hilabihan hinoon: Ilansang siya sa cruz.

¹⁴And Pilate said to them, What evil then has he done? But they cried out the more urgently, Crucify him.

¹⁵Ug kay si Pilato buot magpahamuot sa panon sa katawohan, iyang gibuhian kanila si Barrabas; ug sa tapus niya hampaka si Jesus, gitugyan niya aron igalansang sa cruz.

¹⁵And Pilate, desirous of contenting the crowd, released to them Barabbas, and delivered up Jesus, when he had scourged him, that he might be crucified.

¹⁶Ug gidala siya sa mga sundalo sa sulod sa balay, nga mao ang pretorio, ug gitigum nila ang tibook panon.

¹⁶And the soldiers led him away into the court which is [called the] praetorium, and they call together the whole band.

¹⁷Ug ilang gipasul-oban siya sa mapula; ug sa nakasapid sila sa usa ka purongpurong nga tunokon, gisul-ob kini kaniya.

¹⁷And they clothe him with purple, and bind round on him a crown of thorns which they had plaited.

¹⁸Ug mingsugod sila sa pagyukbo kaniya: Maghimaya ka, Hari sa mga Judio!

¹⁸And they began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!

¹⁹Ug gibunalan nila ang iyang ulo sa usa ka bagakay, ug ilang ginalud-an siya, ug sa nangluhod sila, ilang gisimba siya.

¹⁹And they struck his head with a reed, and spat on him, and, bending the knee, did him homage.

²⁰Ug sa tapus sila makagbugalbugal kaniya, ilang gihuboan siya sa purpura, ug gisul-oban sa iyang kaugalingong bisti, ug gihatud siya sa gawas aron igalansang sa cruz.

²⁰And when they had mocked him, they took the purple off him, and put his own clothes on him; and they lead him out that they may crucify him.

²¹Ug gipugos nila ang usa nga si Simon, nga taga-Sirene, nga milabay gikan sa kaumahan, nga amahan ni Alejandro ug ni Rufo, aron magpas-an kini sa cruz niya.

²¹And they compel to go [with them] a certain passer-by, Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the field, the father of Alexander and Rufus, that he might carry his cross.

²²Ug ilang gidala siya sa dapit nga Golgota, nga kong hubaron, dapit sa usa ka bagolbagol.

²²And they bring him to the place [called] Golgotha, which, being interpreted, is Place of a skull.

²³Ug siya gipainum nila ug vino, nga may sakot nga mirra; apan kini wala niya dawata.

²³And they offered him wine [to drink] medicated with myrrh; but he did not take [it].

²⁴Ug ilang gilansang siya sa cruz, ug gibahinbahin nila ang iyang mga bisti, ug ilang girifahan ang pagadad-on sa tagsatagsa nila.

²⁴And having crucified him, they part his clothes amongst [themselves], casting lots on them, what each one should take.

²⁵Ug takna kadto nga ikatolo, ug ilang gilansang siya sa cruz.

²⁵And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

²⁶Ug ang gisulat nga sumbong batok kaniya, gisulat sa ibabaw: ANG HARI SA MGA JUDIO.

²⁶And the superscription of what he was accused of was written up: The King of the Jews.

²⁷Ug gilansang nila uban kaniya ang duha ka tulisan, ang usa sa too niya, ug ang usa sa iyang wala.

²⁷And with him they crucify two robbers, one on his right hand, and one on his left.

²⁸Ug natuman ang Kasulatan nga nagaingon: Ug giisip siya uban sa mga dautan.

²⁸[And the scripture was fulfilled which says, And he was reckoned with the lawless.]

²⁹Ug ang mga nanagpangagi nanag-pasipala kaniya, nga nagayangoyango sa ilang mga ulo ug nanag-ingon: Ah, ikaw nga magaguba sa templo ug magapatindog kaniya sa tolo ka adlaw!

²⁹And they that passed by reviled him, shaking their heads, and saying, Aha, thou that destroyest the temple and buildest it in three days,

³⁰Magluwas ka sa imong kaugalingon, ug manaug ka sa cruz!

³⁰save thyself, and descend from the cross.

³¹Sa maong pagkaagi usab ang mga punoang sacerdote, kauban sa mga escriba sa nanagbugalbugal kaniya, nasig-ingon. Sa uban nagluwas siya, sa iyang kaugalingon dili siya makaluwas.

³¹In like manner the chief priests also, with the scribes, mocking with one another, said, He saved others; himself he cannot save.

³²Pakanauga karon sa cruz si Cristo, ang Hari sa Israel, aron makakita ug makatoo kita. Ug ang mga nalansang sa cruz kauban niya nanagboyboy kaniya.

³²Let the Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and may believe. And they that were crucified with him reproached him.

³³Ug sa miabut ang takna nga ikaunom, mingitngit ang tibook nga yuta hangtud sa takna sa ikasiyam.

³³And when [the] sixth hour was come, there came darkness over the whole land until [the] ninth hour;

³⁴Ug sa takna nga ikasiyam misinggit si Jesus sa usa ka makusog nga tingog nga nagaingon: Eloi, Eloi, lama sabactani? nga kong hubaron: Dios ko, Dios ko, nganong gibiyaan mo ako?

³⁴and at the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice, [saying], Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

³⁵Ug ang uban sa mga nagatindog didto sa pagkadungog nila niini, nanag-ingon: Ania karon, nagatawag kang Elias.

³⁵And some of those who stood by, when they heard [it], said, Behold, he calls for Elias.

³⁶Ug midalagan ang usa, ug sa napatuhop niya ug maayo ang usa ka esponja sa suka, gitaud sa usa ka bagakay ug gipainum kaniya, nga nagaingon: Pasagdi ninyo, tan-awon ta kong moanhi ba si Elias sa paghugos kaniya.

³⁶And one, running and filling a sponge with vinegar, fixed it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone, let us see if Elias comes to take him down.

³⁷Ug si Jesus misinggit sa makusog nga tingog ug nabugto ang ginhawa.

³⁷And Jesus, having uttered a loud cry, expired.

³⁸Ug ang tabil sa templo napikas gikan sa itaas hangtud sa ubos.

³⁸And the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom.

³⁹Ug sa hingkit-an sa centurion nga nagatindog didto sa atbang niya, nga nabugto na ang iyang ginhawa, miingon siya: Sa pagkamatuod gayud kining tawohana Anak sa Dios.

³⁹And the centurion who stood by over against him, when he saw that he had expired having thus cried out, said, Truly this man was Son of God.

⁴⁰Ug dihay mga babaye usab nga nagalantaw didto sa halayo; kauban nila mao si Maria Magdalena, ug si Maria nga inahan ni Jacobo nga diyutay, ug ni Jose ug Salome;

⁴⁰And there were women also looking on from afar off, among whom were both Mary of Magdala, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

⁴¹Nga, sa didto siya sa Galilea, nanagsunod ug nanag-alagad kaniya; ug diha pay daghang mga babaye nga nanungas kuyog kaniya sa Jerusalem.

⁴¹who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him and ministered to him; and many others who came up with him to Jerusalem.

⁴²Ug sa miabut na ang kahaponon, tungod kay kadto mao ang pangandam, nga kong sayron, ang adlaw nga gisundan sa adlaw nga igpapahulay.

⁴²And when it was already evening, since it was [the] preparation, that is, [the day] before a sabbath,

⁴³Didto miadto si Jose nga taga-Arimatea, usa ka dungganang concejal, nga nagahulat usab sa gingharian sa Dios; ug siya nangahas pagpangatubang kang Pilato, ug gipangayo niya ang lawas ni Jesus.

⁴³Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable councillor, who also himself was awaiting the kingdom of God, coming, emboldened himself and went in to Pilate and begged the body of Jesus.

⁴⁴Ug si Pilato nahibulong kong namatay na ba siya; ug sa gitawag niya ang centurion, nangutana kaniya kong dugay na ba nga namatay.

⁴⁴And Pilate wondered if he were already dead; and having called to [him] the centurion, he inquired of him if he had long died.

⁴⁵Ug unya sa hingbaloan niya kini sa centurion, gihatag niya ang lawas kang Jose.

⁴⁵And when he knew from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.

⁴⁶Ugmipalit siya ug usa ka panapton nga lino, ug sa iyang nahugos siya, iyang giputos sa panapton nga lino, ug gibutang niya sa usa ka lubnganan nga linukab sa usa ka batong bantilis; ug iyang giligid ang usa ka bato ngadto sa ganghaan sa lubnganan.

⁴⁶And having bought fine linen, [and] having taken him down, he swathed him in the fine linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was cut out of rock, and rolled a stone to the door of the sepulchre.

⁴⁷Ug si Maria Magdalena ug si Maria nga inahan ni Jose nagalantaw sa gibutangan kaniya.

⁴⁷And Mary of Magdala and Mary the [mother] of Joses saw where he was put.
