¹Unya si Sephatias ang anak nga lalake ni Mathan, ug si Gedalias ang anak nga lalake ni Pashur, ug si Jucal ang anak nga lalake ni Selemias, ug si Pashur, ang anak nga lalake ni Malchias, nakadungog sa mga pulong nga gisulti ni Jeremias sa tibook katawohan, nga nagaingon:

¹Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashhur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur the son of Malchijah, heard the words that Jeremiah spoke to all the people, saying,

²Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova: Kadtong mopabilin niining ciudara mamatay pinaagi sa espada, pinaagi sa gutom, ug pinaagi sa kamatay; apan kadtong moadto sa mga Caldeahanon mabuhi, ug ang iyang kinabuhi mahimong ingon sa usa ka tukbonon nganha kaniya, ug mabuhi siya.

²Thus says Yahweh, He who remains in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence; but he who goes forth to the Chaldeans shall live, and his life shall be to him for a prey, and he shall live.

³Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova: Kining ciudara sa pagkamatuod igahatag ngadto sa kamot sa kasundalohan sa hari sa Babilonia, ug iyang maagaw kini.

³Thus says Yahweh, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the army of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it.

⁴Unya ang mga principe ming-ingon sa hari: Kami nangpakilooy kanimo, ipapatay kining tawohana: sanglit siya nagapaluya sa mga kamot sa mga tawong manggugubat nga nanagpabilin niining ciudara, ug sa mga kamot sa tibook katawohan, sa pagsulti nianang tanan nga mga pulong kanila: kay kining tawohana wala mangita sa kaayohan niining katawohan, kondili sa ilang kadautan.

⁴Then the princes said to the king, “Please let this man be put to death; because he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words to them: for this man doesn’t seek the welfare of this people, but the hurt.”

⁵Ug si Sedechias ang hari miingon: Ania karon, siya anaa sa inyong kamot; kay ang hari dili mao kadtong makabuhat ug bisan unsa batok kaninyo.

⁵Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand; for the king is not he who can do anything against you.

⁶Unya gikuha nila si Jeremias ug gibalhog siya sa gahong nga bilanggoan ni Malchias, ang anak nga lalake sa hari, nga didto sa sawang sa bilanggoan: ug ilang gitonton si Jeremias sa mga pisi. Ug sa sulod sa gahong walay tubig, kondili kalapukan lamang : ug si Jeremias nahaunlod sa kalapukan.

⁶Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchijah the king’s son, that was in the court of the guard: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. In the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire.

⁷Karon sa pagkadungog ni Ebedmelech nga Etiopiahanon, ang usa ka eunuco nga diha sa balay sa hari, nga ilang gibutang sa gahong nga bilanggoan si Jeremias: (ang hari nagalingkod sa ganghaan ni Benjamin),

⁷Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, a eunuch, who was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon (the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin),

⁸Si Ebed-melech migula sa balay sa hari, ug misulti sa hari, nga nagaingon:

⁸Ebedmelech went forth out of the king’s house, and spoke to the king, saying,

⁹Ginoo ko nga hari, kining mga tawo nakabuhat ug dautan sa tanan nga ilang gihimo kang Jeremias nga manalagna, nga ilang gitambog sa gahong nga bilanggoan; ug siya himalatyon na tungod sa kagutom sa dapit diin siya karon mahimutang; kay wala nay tinapay sa ciudad.

⁹My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is likely to die in the place where he is, because of the famine; for there is no more bread in the city.

¹⁰Unya ang hari nagsugo kang Ebed-melech nga Etiopiahanon, nga nagaingon: Pagkuha gikan didto ug katloan ka tawo uban kanimo, ug kuhaon mo si Jeremias nga manalagna gikan sa gahong nga bilanggoan sa dili pa siya mamatay.

¹⁰Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from here thirty men with you, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he dies.

¹¹Busa si Ebed-melech nagdala sa mga tawo uban kaniya, ug nangadto sila sa balay sa hari ilalum sa tipiganan sa bahandi, ug mingkuha sila didto ug mga nuog nga panapton ug dunot nga mga saput, ug gitonton kini pinaagi sa pisi sa gahong sa bilanggoan ngadto kang Jeremias.

¹¹So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took there rags and worn-out garments, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

¹²Ug si Ebed-melech nga Etiopiahanon miingon kang Jeremias: Ibutang mo karon kining mga nuog ug dunot nga mga saput ilalum sa imong mga ilok ilalim sa mga pisi. Ug sa ingon niini si Jeremias mituman.

¹²Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, Put now these rags and worn-out garments under your armpits under the cords. Jeremiah did so.

¹³Busa gibitad nila si Jeremias pinaagi sa mga pisi, ug gipagawas nila gikan sa gahong nga bilanggoan: ug si Jeremias mipabilin sa sawang sa bilanggoan.

¹³So they drew up Jeremiah with the cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.

¹⁴Unya si Sedechias nga hari nagpasugo ug nagpakuha kang Jeremias nga manalagna ngadto kaniya sa ikatolong tukmaan nga diha sa balay ni Jehova: ug ang hari miingon kang Jeremias: Ako mangutana kanimo ug usa ka butang; ayaw paglimod sa bisan unsa kanako.

¹⁴Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet to him into the third entry that is in the house of Yahweh: and the king said to Jeremiah, I will ask you something. Hide nothing from me.

¹⁵Unya si Jeremias miingon kang Sedechias: Kong ipahayag ko kana kanimo, dili ba gayud patyon mo ako? ug kong motambag ako kanimo, dili man ikaw magpatalinghug kanako.

¹⁵Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, If I declare it to you, will you not surely put me to death? and if I give you counsel, you will not listen to me.

¹⁶Busa si Sedechias nga hari nanumpa sa tago kang Jeremias, nga nagaingon: Ingon nga ang Dios buhi, nga nagbuhat kanato niining kalag, dili ko patyon ikaw, ni itugyan ko ikaw niining katawoahan na nangita sa imong kinabuhi.

¹⁶So Zedekiah the king swore secretly to Jeremiah, saying, As Yahweh lives, who made us this soul, I will not put you to death, neither will I give you into the hand of these men who seek your life.

¹⁷Unya miingon si Jeremias kang Sedechias: Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova, ang Dios sa mga panon, ang Dios sa Israel: Kong moadto ka sa principe sa hari sa Babilonia, nan ang imong kalag mabuhi, ug kining ciudara dili sunogon sa kalayo; ug ikaw mabuhi, ug ang imong panimalay:

¹⁷Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, Thus says Yahweh, the God of Armies, the God of Israel: If you will go forth to the king of Babylon’s princes, then your soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and you shall live, and your house.

¹⁸Apan kong ikaw dili moadto sa mga principe sa hari sa Babilonia, nan kining ciudara ihatag ngadto sa kamot sa mga Caldeahanon, ug ilang sunogon kini sa kalayo, ug ikaw dili makagawas gikan sa ilang kamot.

¹⁸But if you will not go forth to the king of Babylon’s princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and you shall not escape out of their hand.

¹⁹Ug si Sedechias nga hari miingon kang Jeremias: Ako mahadlok sa mga Judio nga nangahulog ngadto sa mga Caldeahanon, tingali unya ilang itugyan ako ngadto sa ilang kamot, ug magabiaybiay sila kanako.

¹⁹Zedekiah the king said to Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews who are fallen away to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

²⁰Apan si Jeremias miingon: sila dili magatugyan kanimo. Tumana, gipangamuyo ko kanimo, ang tingog ni Jehova, nianang gisulti ko kanimo: busa maayo kini alang kanimo, ug ang imong kalag mabuhi.

²⁰But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver you. Obey, I beg you, the voice of Yahweh, in that which I speak to you: so it shall be well with you, and your soul shall live.

²¹Apan kong ikaw magdumili sa pagadto, mao kini ang pulong nga gipakita ni Jehova kanako:

²¹But if you refuse to go forth, this is the word that Yahweh has shown me:

²²Ania karon, ang tanang mga babaye nga nanghibilin sa balay sa hari sa Juda pagadad-on ngadto sa mga principe sa hari sa Babilonia, ug kadtong mga babayehana manag-ingon: Ang imong mga suod nga higala naglimbong kanimo, ug nakadaug kanimo: karon nga ang imong mga tiil nanghiunlod sa kalapukan, sila mingsibog.

²²behold, all the women who are left in the king of Judah’s house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon’s princes, and those women shall say, Your familiar friends have set you on, and have prevailed over you. Your feet are sunk in the mire, they have turned away back.

²³Ug pagadad-on nila ang tanan ninyong mga asawa ug ang inyong mga anak ngadto sa mga Caldeahanon; ug dili ka makagawas gikan sa ilang kamot, kondili na hidakpan ka sa kamot sa hari sa Babilonia: ug imong ipasunog kining ciudara sa kalayo.

²³They shall bring out all your wives and your children to the Chaldeans; and you shall not escape out of their hand, but shall be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and you shall cause this city to be burned with fire.

²⁴Unya miingon si Sedechias kang Jeremias: Ayaw pagpahibalo kang bisan kinsa niining mga pulonga, ug dili ka mamatay.

²⁴Then Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and you shall not die.

²⁵Apan kong ang mga principe makadungog nga ako nakigsulti kanimo, ug sila manganhi kanimo, ug manag-ingon kanimo: Ipahayag kanamo karon kong unsay gisulti mo sa hari; ayaw kana itago kanamo, ug ikaw dili namo patyon: ingon man usab unsay giingon sa hari kanimo:

²⁵But if the princes hear that I have talked with you, and they come to you, and tell you, Declare to us now what you have said to the king; don’t hide it from us, and we will not put you to death; also what the king said to you:

²⁶Nan ingnon mo sila: Gipahayag ko ang akong pangaliyupo sa atubangan sa hari, aron ako dili niya pabalikon sa balay ni Jonathan, aron sa pagpakamatay didto.

²⁶then you shall tell them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan’s house, to die there.

²⁷Unya miduol ang tanang mga principe kang Jeremias, ug nangutana kaniya; ug siya nagsugilon kanila sumala niining tanan nga mga pulong nga gisugo kaniya sa hari. Busa sila minghunong sa pagpakigsulti kaniya; kay wala nila makita ang katin-awan.

²⁷Then came all the princes to Jeremiah, and asked him; and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.

²⁸Busa si Jeremias mipuyo sa sawang sa bilanggoan hangtud sa adlaw sa pagkaagaw sa Jerusalem.

²⁸So Jeremiah stayed in the court of the guard until the day that Jerusalem was taken.
