1Elihu nastavi i reče:
1And Elihu proceeded and said,
2"Strpi se malo, pa ću te poučit', jer još nisam sve rekao za Boga.
2Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet words for +God.
3Izdaleka ću svoje iznijet' znanje da Stvoritelja svojega opravdam.
3I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Creator.
4Zaista, za laž ne znaju mi riječi, uza te je čovjek znanjem savršen.
4For truly my words shall be no falsehood: one perfect in knowledge is with thee.
5Gle, Bog je silan, ali ne prezire, silan je snagom razuma svojega.
5Lo, ùGod is mighty, but despiseth not [any]; mighty in strength of understanding:
6Opakome on živjeti ne daje, nevoljnicima pravicu pribavlja.
6He saveth not the wicked alive; but he doeth justice to the afflicted.
7S pravednika on očiju ne skida, na prijestolje ih diže uz kraljeve da bi dovijeka bili uzvišeni.
7He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne doth he even set them for ever; and they are exalted.
8Ako su negvam' oni okovani i užetima nevolje sputani,
8And if, bound in fetters, they be held in cords of affliction,
9djela njihova on im napominje, kazuje im grijeh njine oholosti.
9Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions, because they have increased.
10Tad im otvara uho k opomeni i poziva ih da se zla okane.
10And he openeth their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
11Poslušaju li te mu se pokore, dani im završavaju u sreći, u užicima godine njihove.
11If they hearken and serve [him], they shall accomplish their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
12Ne slušaju li, od koplja umiru, zaglave, sami ne znajući kako.
12But if they hearken not, they shall pass away by the sword, and expire without knowledge.
13A srca opaka mržnju njeguju, ne ištu pomoć kad ih on okuje;
13But the godless in heart heap up anger; they cry not when he bindeth them:
14u cvatu svoga dječaštva umiru i venu poput hramskih milosnika.
14Their soul dieth in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
15Nevoljnog on bijedom njegovom spasava i u nesreći otvara mu oči:
15But he delivereth the afflicted in his affliction, and openeth their ear in [their] oppression.
16izbavit će te iz ždrijela tjeskobe k prostranstvima bezgraničnim izvesti, k prepunu stolu mesa pretiloga.
16Even so would he have allured thee out of the jaws of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and the supply of thy table [would be] full of fatness.
17Ako sudio nisi opakima, ako si pravo krnjio siroti,
17But thou art full of the judgments of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold [on thee].
18nek' te obilje odsad ne zavede i nek' te dar prebogat ne iskvari.
18Because there is wrath, [beware] lest it take thee away through chastisement: then a great ransom could not avail thee.
19Nek' ti je gavan k'o čovjek bez zlata, a čovjek jake ruke poput slaba.
19Will he esteem thy riches? Not gold, nor all the resources of strength!
20Ne goni one koji su ti tuđi da rodbinu na njino mjesto staviš.
20Desire not the night, when peoples are cut off from their place.
21Pazi se da u nepravdu ne skreneš, jer zbog nje snađe tebe iskušenje.
21Take heed, turn not to iniquity; for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
22Gle, uzvišen je Bog u svojoj snazi! Zar učitelja ima poput njega?
22Lo, ùGod is exalted in his power: who teacheth as he?
23Tko je njemu put njegov odredio? Tko će mu reći: 'Radio si krivo'?
23Who hath appointed him his way? or who hath said, Thou hast wrought unrighteousness?
24Spomeni se veličati mu djelo što ga pjesmama ljudi opjevaše.
24Remember that thou magnify his work, which men celebrate.
25S udivljenjem svijet čitav ga promatra, divi se čovjek, pa ma izdaleka.
25All men look at it; man beholdeth [it] afar off.
26Veći je Bog no što pojmit' možemo, nedokučiv je broj ljeta njegovih!
26Lo, ùGod is great, and we comprehend [him] not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
27U visini on skuplja kapi vode te dažd u paru i maglu pretvara.
27For he draweth up the drops of water: they distil in rain from the vapour which he formeth,
28Pljuskovi tada pljušte iz oblaka, po mnoštvu ljudskom dažde obilato.
28Which the skies pour down [and] drop upon man abundantly.
29Tko li će shvatit' širenje oblaka, tutnjavu strašnu njegovih šatora?
29But can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, [or] the crashing of his pavilion?
30Gle, on nad sobom razastire svjetlost i dno morsko on vodama pokriva.
30Lo, he spreadeth his light around him, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
31Pomoću njih on podiže narode, u izobilju hranom ih dariva.
31For with them he judgeth the peoples; he giveth food in abundance.
32On munju drži objema rukama i kazuje joj kamo će zgoditi.
32[His] hands he covereth with lightning, and commandeth it where it is to strike.
33Glasom gromovnim sebe navješćuje, stiže s gnjevom da zgromi opačinu.
33His thundering declareth concerning him; the cattle even, concerning its coming.
