1Hvalite Jahvu jer je dobar, jer je dovijeka ljubav njegova!
1Give ye thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; for his loving-kindness [endureth] for ever.
2Tako nek' reknu svi otkupljenici koje Jahve otkupi iz ruke dušmanske
2Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the oppressor,
3i koje skupi iz svih zemalja, s istoka i sa zapada, sa sjevera i s juga.
3And gathered out of the countries, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.
4Lutahu pustinjom, u samoći pustoj, puta ne nalazeć' do naseljena grada.
4They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way, they found no city of habitation;
5Gladni su bili, žeđu izmoreni, duša je klonula u njima.
5Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them:
6Tada zavapiše Jahvi u svojoj tjeskobi, i on ih istrže iz svih nevolja.
6Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he delivered them out of their distresses,
7Pravim ih putem pÓovede da stignu ka gradu naseljenu.
7And he led them forth by a right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
8Neka hvale Jahvu za dobrotu njegovu, za čudesa njegova sinovima ljudskim!
8Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;
9Jer gladnu dušu on nasiti, dušu izgladnjelu on napuni dobrima.
9For he hath satisfied the longing soul and filled the hungry soul with good.
10U mraku sjeđahu i u tmini, sputani bijedom i gvožđima,
10Such as inhabit darkness and the shadow of death, bound in affliction and iron,
11jer su prkosili besjedama Božjim i prezreli naum Svevišnjega.
11Because they had rebelled against the words of ùGod, and had despised the counsel of the Most High; ...
12Srce im stoga skrši patnjama: posrtahu, a ne bješe nikog da im pomogne.
12And he bowed down their heart with labour; they stumbled, and there was none to help:
13Tada zavapiše Jahvi u svojoj tjeskobi i on ih istrže iz svih nevolja.
13Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he saved them out of their distresses;
14Izvede ih iz tmina i mraka, raskide okove njihove.
14He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.
15Neka hvale Jahvu za dobrotu njegovu, za čudesa njegova sinovima ljudskim!
15Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;
16Jer razbi vrata mjedena i gvozdene polomi zasune.
16For he hath broken the gates of bronze, and cut asunder the bars of iron.
17Zbog svojih bezakonja bolovahu oni, ispaštajuć' svoje opačine:
17Fools, because of their way of transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted;
18svako se jelo gadilo duši njihovoj, do vrata smrti oni dođoše.
18Their soul abhorreth all manner of food, and they draw near unto the gates of death:
19Tada zavapiše Jahvi u svojoj tjeskobi i on ih istrže iz svih nevolja.
19Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he saveth them out of their distresses;
20Riječ svoju posla da ih ozdravi i život im spasi od jame grobne.
20He sendeth his word, and healeth them, and delivereth them from their destructions.
21Neka hvale Jahvu za dobrotu njegovu, za čudesa njegova sinovima ljudskim!
21Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men,
22Nek' prinose žrtve zahvalnice i kličući nek' djela njegova kazuju!
22And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works in joyful song.
23Oni koji lađama zaploviše morem da po vodama silnim trguju:
23They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters,
24oni vidješe djela Jahvina, čudesa njegova na pučini.
24These see the works of Jehovah, and his wonders in the deep.
25On reče i olujni se vjetar uzvitla što u visinu diže valove mora.
25For he speaketh, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof:
26Do neba se dizahu, u bezdan se spuštahu, u nevolji duša im ginula.
26They mount up to the heavens, they go down to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble;
27Teturahu i posrtahu kao pijani, sva ih je mudrost izdala.
27They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and they are at their wits' end:
28Tada zavapiše Jahvi u svojoj tjeskobi i on ih istrže iz svih nevolja.
28Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses;
29Smiri oluju u tih povjetarac, valovi morski umukoše.
29He maketh the storm a calm, and the waves thereof are still:
30Obradovaše se tišini, u željenu luku on ih povede.
30And they rejoice because they are quiet; and he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
31Neka hvale Jahvu za dobrotu njegovu, za čudesa njegova sinovima ljudskim!
31Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;
32Neka ga uzvisuju u narodnom zboru, neka ga hvale u vijeću staraca!
32Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the session of the elders.
33On pretvori rijeke u pustinju, a izvore vodene u žednu zemlju;
33He maketh rivers into a wilderness, and water-springs into dry ground;
34plodonosnu zemlju u slanu pustaru zbog zloće žitelja njezinih.
34A fruitful land into a plain of salt, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
35On obrati pustinju u jezero, a zemlju suhu u vodene izvore
35He maketh the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into water-springs;
36i naseli ondje izgladnjele te podigoše grad gdje će živjeti.
36And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;
37Zasijaše njive, posadiše vinograde što im doniješe obilnu ljetinu.
37And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase;
38I on ih blagoslovi te se namnožiše silno i stada im se ne smanjiše.
38And he blesseth them, so that they are multiplied greatly; and he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.
39Prorijeđeni bjehu i prezreni pod teretom patnja i nevolja.
39And they are diminished and brought low, through oppression, adversity, and sorrow:
40Onaj što izlijeva prezir na knezove pusti ih da po bespuću pustom lutaju.
40He poureth contempt upon nobles, and causeth them to wander in a pathless waste;
41Iz nevolje pÓodiže ubogog i obitelji k'o stada ÓumnožÄi.
41But he secureth the needy one on high from affliction, and maketh [him] families like flocks.
42Videć' to, čestiti neka se raduju, a zloća neka sebi usta začepi!
42The upright shall see it, and rejoice; and all unrighteousness shall stop its mouth.
43Tko je mudar nek' o svemu tom razmišlja i nek' uvidi dobrotu Jahvinu!
43Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them understand the loving-kindnesses of Jehovah.
