¹Zborovođi. Psalam. Davidov.

¹{To the chief Musician. Of David. A Psalm.} I waited patiently for Jehovah; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

²Uzdah se u Jahvu uzdanjem silnim, i on se k meni prignu i usliša vapaj moj.

²And he brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock; he hath established my goings:

³Izvuče me iz jame propasti, iz blata kalnoga; noge mi stavi na hridinu, korake moje ukrijepi.

³And he hath put a new song in my mouth, praise unto our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall confide in Jehovah.

⁴U usta mi stavi pjesmu novu, slavopoj Bogu našemu. Vidjet će mnogi i strah će ih obuzeti: uzdanje će svoje staviti u Jahvu.

⁴Blessed is the man that hath made Jehovah his confidence, and turneth not to the proud, and to such as turn aside to lies.

⁵Blago čovjeku koji se u Jahvu uzda, koji ne ide za štovateljima lažnih bogova, za onima koji se predaju prijevari.

⁵Thou, O Jehovah my God, hast multiplied thy marvellous works, and thy thoughts toward us: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee; would I declare and speak [them], they are more than can be numbered.

⁶Čudesa mnoga tvoriš, o Jahve, Bože moj, i namisli čudesne - ravna ti nema! Kazivat' ih i objavljivati želim, al' odveć ih je da bi se nabrojit' mogli.

⁶Sacrifice and oblation thou didst not desire: ears hast thou prepared me. Burnt-offering and sin-offering hast thou not demanded;

⁷Nisu ti mile ni žrtve ni prinosi, nego si mi uši otvorio: paljenice ni okajnice ne tražiš.

⁷Then said I, Behold, I come, in the volume of the book it is written of me --

⁸Tada rekoh: "Evo dolazim! U svitku knjige piše za mene:

⁸To do thy good pleasure, my God, is my delight, and thy law is within my heart.

⁹Milje mi je, Bože moj, vršit volju tvoju, Zakon tvoj duboko u srcu ja nosim."

⁹I have published righteousness in the great congregation: behold, I have not withheld my lips, Jehovah, *thou* knowest.

¹⁰Tvoju ću pravdu naviještat' u velikom zboru, i usta svojih zatvoriti neću, o Jahve, sve ti je znano.

¹⁰I have not hidden thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy loving-kindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

¹¹Tvoju pravdu neću kriti u srcu, kazivat ću vjernost tvoju i tvoj spas. Tajit neću dobrote tvoje, ni tvoje vjernosti velikoj skupštini.

¹¹Withhold not thou, Jehovah, thy tender mercies from me; let thy loving-kindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

¹²A ti, o Jahve, milosrđa mi svog ne krati, dobrota tvoja i vjernost neka me svagda čuvaju.

¹²For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I cannot see; they are more than the hairs of my head: and my heart hath failed me.

¹³Jer me okružiše nesreće nebrojene, krivice me moje sustigoše da gledat' ne mogu: više ih je no vlasi na glavi, i srce mi je stoga klonulo.

¹³Be pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me; Jehovah, make haste to my help.

¹⁴Bilo ti milo, o Jahve, da me izbaviš; Gospodine, u pomoć mi pohitaj!

¹⁴Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be turned backward and confounded that take pleasure in mine adversity;

¹⁵Neka se postide i smetu svi koji mi o glavi rade. Nek' uzmaknu i neka se posrame koji se nesreći mojoj raduju!

¹⁵Let them be desolate, because of their shame, that say unto me, Aha! Aha!

¹⁶Neka se skamene u sramoti svojoj koji zlurado na me grohoću!

¹⁶Let all those that seek thee be glad and rejoice in thee; let such as love thy salvation say continually, Jehovah be magnified!

¹⁷Neka kliču i nek' se vesele u tebi svi koji te traže! Neka govore svagda: "Velik je Jahve!" svi koji spasenje tvoje ljube.

¹⁷But I am afflicted and needy: the Lord thinketh upon me. Thou art my help and my deliverer: my God, make no delay.

¹⁸Bijedan sam ja i nevoljan, al' Jahve se brine za me. Ti si pomoć moja i moj spasitelj; o Bože moj, ne kasni!
