¹Što ćemo dakle reći? Da ostanemo u grijehu da milost izobiluje?

¹What then shall we say? Should we continue in sin that grace may abound?

²Nipošto! Jednom umrli grijehu, kako da još živimo u njemu?

²Far be the thought. We who have died to sin, how shall we still live in it?

³Ili zar ne znate: koji smo god kršteni u Krista Isusa, u smrt smo njegovu kršteni.

³Are you ignorant that we, as many as have been baptised unto Christ Jesus, have been baptised unto his death?

⁴Krštenjem smo dakle zajedno s njime ukopani u smrt da kao što Krist slavom Očevom bi uskrišen od mrtvih, i mi tako hodimo u novosti života.

⁴We have been buried therefore with him by baptism unto death, in order that, even as Christ has been raised up from among [the] dead by the glory of the Father, so *we* also should walk in newness of life.

⁵Ako smo doista s njime srasli po sličnosti smrti njegovoj, očito ćemo srasti i po sličnosti njegovu uskrsnuću.

⁵For if we are become identified with [him] in the likeness of his death, so also we shall be of [his] resurrection;

⁶Ovo znamo: naš je stari čovjek zajedno s njim raspet da onemoća ovo grešno tijelo te više ne robujemo grijehu.

⁶knowing this, that our old man has been crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be annulled, that we should no longer serve sin.

⁷Ta tko umre, opravdan je od grijeha.

⁷For he that has died is justified from sin.

⁸Pa ako umrijesmo s Kristom, vjerujemo da ćemo i živjeti zajedno s njime.

⁸Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him,

⁹Znamo doista: Krist uskrišen od mrtvih, više ne umire, smrt njime više ne gospoduje.

⁹knowing that Christ having been raised up from among [the] dead dies no more: death has dominion over him no more.

¹⁰Što umrije, umrije grijehu jednom zauvijek; a što živi, živi Bogu.

¹⁰For in that he has died, he has died to sin once for all; but in that he lives, he lives to God.

¹¹Tako i vi: smatrajte sebe mrtvima grijehu, a živima Bogu u Kristu Isusu!

¹¹So also *ye*, reckon yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

¹²Neka dakle ne kraljuje grijeh u vašem smrtnom tijelu da slušate njegove požude;

¹²Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body to obey its lusts.

¹³i ne predajite grijehu udova svojih za oružje nepravde, nego sebe, od mrtvih oživjele, predajte Bogu i udove svoje dajte Bogu za oružje pravednosti.

¹³Neither yield your members instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but yield yourselves to God as alive from among [the] dead, and your members instruments of righteousness to God.

¹⁴Valjda grijeh neće vama gospodovati! Ta niste pod Zakonom nego pod milošću!

¹⁴For sin shall not have dominion over *you*, for ye are not under law but under grace.

¹⁵Što dakle? Da griješimo jer nismo pod Zakonom nego pod milošću? Nipošto!

¹⁵What then? should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Far be the thought.

¹⁶Ne znate li: ako se komu predate za robove, na poslušnost, robovi ste onoga koga slušate: bilo grijeha - na smrt, bilo poslušnosti - na pravednost.

¹⁶Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves bondmen for obedience, ye are bondmen to him whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

¹⁷Bijaste robovi grijeha, ali ste, hvala Bogu, od srca poslušali ono pravilo nauka kojemu ste povjereni;

¹⁷But thanks [be] to God, that ye were bondmen of sin, but have obeyed from the heart the form of teaching into which ye were instructed.

¹⁸da, oslobođeni grijeha, postadoste sluge pravednosti.

¹⁸Now, having got your freedom from sin, ye have become bondmen to righteousness.

¹⁹Po ljudsku govorim zbog vaše ljudske slabosti: kao što nekoć predadoste udove svoje za robove nečistoći i bezakonju - do bezakonja, tako sada predajte udove svoje za robove pravednosti - do posvećenja.

¹⁹I speak humanly on account of the weakness of your flesh. For even as ye have yielded your members in bondage to uncleanness and to lawlessness unto lawlessness, so now yield your members in bondage to righteousness unto holiness.

²⁰Uistinu, kad bijaste robovi grijeha, "slobodni" bijaste od pravednosti.

²⁰For when ye were bondmen of sin ye were free from righteousness.

²¹Pa kakav ste plod onda imali? Onoga se sada stidite jer svršetak je tomu - smrt.

²¹What fruit therefore had ye *then* in the things of which ye are *now* ashamed? for the end of *them* [is] death.

²²Sada pak pošto ste oslobođeni grijeha i postali sluge Božje, imate plod svoj za posvećenje, a svršetak - život vječni.

²²But *now*, having got your freedom from sin, and having become bondmen to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end eternal life.

²³Jer plaća je grijeha smrt, a dar Božji jest život vječni u Kristu Isusu, Gospodinu našem.

²³For the wages of sin [is] death; but the act of favour of God, eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
