1Žalm Davidův. Nehněvej se příčinou zlostníků, nechtěj záviděti těm, kteříž páší nepravost.
1Don’t fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness.
2Nebo jako tráva v náhle podťati budou, a jako zelená bylina uvadnou.
2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb.
3Doufej v Hospodina, a
3Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.
4Těš se v Hospodinu, a dá tobě žádosti srdce tvého.
4Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5Uval na Hospodina cestu svou, a slož v něm naději, onť zajisté všecko spraví.
5Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this:
6A vyvedeť spravedlnost tvou jako světlo, a nevinu tvou jako poledne.
6he will make your righteousness go forth as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun.
7Mlčelivě se měj k Hospodinu, a očekávej na něj pečlivě. Nekormuť se příčinou toho, jemuž se daří na cestě jeho, příčinou člověka, kterýž provodí, cožkoli umyslil.
7Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.
8Pusť mimo sebe hněv, a zanech prchlivosti; nezpouzej se tak, abys zle činiti chtěl.
8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret, it leads only to evildoing.
9Nebo zlostníci vypléněni budou, ale ti, kteříž očekávají na Hospodina, dědičně zemí vládnouti budou.
9For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Yahweh shall inherit the land.
10Po malé chvíli zajisté, anť bezbožníka nebude, a pohledíš na místo jeho, anť ho již není.
10For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he isn’t there.
11Ale tiší dědičně obdrží zemi, a rozkoš míti budou ve množství pokoje.
11But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12Zle myslí bezbožník o spravedlivém, a škřipí na něj zuby svými,
12The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth.
13Ale Hospodin směje se jemu; nebo vidí, že se přibližuje den jeho.
13The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.
14Vytrhujíť bezbožníci meč, a natahují lučiště své, aby porazili chudého a nuzného, aby hubili ty, kteříž jsou ctného obcování;
14The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill those who are upright in the way.
15Ale meč jejich vejde v jejich srdce, a lučiště jejich budou polámána.
15Their sword shall enter into their own heart. Their bows shall be broken.
16Lepší jest málo, což má spravedlivý, než veliká bohatství bezbožníků mnohých.
16Better is a little that the righteous has, than the abundance of many wicked.
17Nebo ramena bezbožných polámána budou, spravedlivé pak zdržuje Hospodin.
17For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but Yahweh upholds the righteous.
18Znáť Hospodin dny upřímých, protož dědictví jejich na věky zůstane.
18Yahweh knows the days of the perfect. Their inheritance shall be forever.
19Nebudouť zahanbeni v čas zlý, a ve dnech hladu nasyceni budou;
19They shall not be disappointed in the time of evil. In the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20Ale bezbožníci zahynou, a nepřátelé Hospodinovi, jak tuk beranů s dymem mizí, tak zmizejí.
20But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of Yahweh shall be like the beauty of the fields. They will vanish— vanish like smoke.
21Vypůjčuje bezbožník, a nemá co oplatiti, ale spravedlivý milost činí, a rozdává.
21The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously.
22Nebo požehnaní ode Pána zemí vládnouti budou, ale zlořečení od něho budou vypléněni.
22For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.
23Krokové člověka spravedlivého od Hospodina spravováni bývají, a cestu jeho libuje.
23A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way.
24Jestliže by upadl, neurazí se; nebo Hospodin drží jej za ruku jeho.
24Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand.
25Mlad jsem byl, a sstaral jsem se, a neviděl jsem spravedlivého opuštěného, ani semene jeho žebrati chleba.
25I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.
26Každého dne milost činí, i půjčuje, a však símě jeho jest v požehnání.
26All day long he deals graciously, and lends. His seed is blessed.
27Odstup od zlého, a čiň dobré, a bydliti budeš na věky.
27Depart from evil, and do good. Live securely forever.
28Nebo Hospodin miluje soud, a neopouští svatých svých, na věky v stráži jeho budou; símě pak bezbožníků bude vypléněno.
28For Yahweh loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
29Ale spravedliví ujmou zemi dědičně, a na věky v ní přebývati budou.
29The righteous shall inherit the land, and live in it forever.
30Ústa spravedlivého mluví moudrost, a jazyk jeho vynáší soud.
30The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks justice.
31Zákon Boha jeho jest v srdci jeho, pročež nepodvrtnou se nohy jeho.
31The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.
32Špehujeť bezbožník po spravedlivém, a hledá ho zahubiti;
32The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to kill him.
33Ale Hospodin ho nenechá v ruce jeho, aniž ho dopustí potupiti, když by souzen byl.
33Yahweh will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34Očekávejž tedy na Hospodina, a ostříhej cesty jeho, a on tě povýší, abys dědičně obdržel zemi, z níž že vykořeněni budou bezbožníci, uhlédáš.
34Wait for Yahweh, and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
35Viděl jsem bezbožníka hrozné síly, an se rozložil jako zelený samorostlý strom.
35I have seen the wicked in great power, spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.
36Ale tudíž pominul, a aj nebylo ho; nebo hledal jsem ho, a není nalezen.
36But he passed away, and behold, he was not. Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37Pozor měj na pobožného, a viz upřímého, žeť takového člověka poslední věci jsou potěšené,
37Mark the perfect man, and see the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.
38Přestupníci pak že tolikéž vyhlazeni budou, a bezbožníci naposledy vyťati.
38As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together. The future of the wicked shall be cut off.
39Ale spasení spravedlivých jest od Hospodina, onť jest síla jejich v času ssoužení.
39But the salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
40Spomáháť jim Hospodin, a je vytrhuje, vytrhuje je od bezbožníků, a zachovává je; nebo doufají v něho.
40Yahweh helps them, and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked, and saves them, Because they have taken refuge in him.
