¹ Yr wyf fi, felly, sy'n garcharor er mwyn yr Arglwydd, yn eich annog i fyw yn deilwng o'r alwad a gawsoch.

¹Call upon you, then, do I — the prisoner of the Lord — to walk worthily of the calling with which ye were called,

² Byddwch yn ostyngedig ac addfwyn ym mhob peth, ac yn amyneddgar, gan oddef eich gilydd mewn cariad.

²with all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love,

³ Ymrowch i gadw, � rhwymyn tangnefedd, yr undod y mae'r Ysbryd yn ei roi.

³being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of the peace;

⁴ Un corff sydd, ac un Ysbryd, yn union fel mai un yw'r gobaith sy'n ymhlyg yn eich galwad;

⁴one body and one Spirit, according as also ye were called in one hope of your calling;

⁵ un Arglwydd, un ffydd, un bedydd,

⁵one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

⁶ un Duw a Thad i bawb, yr hwn sydd goruwch pawb, a thrwy bawb, ac ym mhawb.

⁶one God and Father of all, who [is] over all, and through all, and in you all,

⁷ Ond i bob un ohonom rhoddwyd gras, ei ran o rodd Crist.

⁷and to each one of you was given the grace, according to the measure of the gift of Christ,

⁸ Am hynny y mae'r Ysgrythur yn dweud: "Esgynnodd i'r uchelder, gan arwain ei garcharorion yn gaeth; rhoddodd roddion i bobl."

⁸wherefore, he saith, `Having gone up on high he led captive captivity, and gave gifts to men,` —

⁹ Beth yw ystyr "esgynnodd"? Onid yw'n golygu ei fod wedi disgyn hefyd i barthau isaf y ddaear?

⁹and that, he went up, what is it except that he also went down first to the lower parts of the earth?

¹⁰ Yr un a ddisgynnodd yw'r un a esgynnodd hefyd ymhell uwchlaw'r nefoedd i gyd, i lenwi'r holl greadigaeth.

¹⁰he who went down is the same also who went up far above all the heavens, that He may fill all things —

¹¹ A dyma'i roddion: rhai i fod yn apostolion, rhai yn broffwydi, rhai yn efengylwyr, rhai yn fugeiliaid ac yn athrawon,

¹¹and He gave some [as] apostles, and some [as] prophets, and some [as] proclaimers of good news, and some [as] shepherds and teachers,

¹² i gymhwyso'r saint i waith gweinidogaeth, i adeiladu corff Crist.

¹²unto the perfecting of the saints, for a work of ministration, for a building up of the body of the Christ,

¹³ Felly y cyrhaeddwn oll hyd at yr undod a berthyn i'r ffydd ac i adnabyddiaeth o Fab Duw. Y nod yw dynoliaeth lawn dwf, a'r mesur yw'r aeddfedrwydd sy'n perthyn i gyflawnder Crist.

¹³till we may all come to the unity of the faith and of the recognition of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to a measure of stature of the fulness of the Christ,

¹⁴ Nid ydym i fod yn fabanod mwyach, yn cael ein lluchio gan donnau a'n gyrru yma a thraw gan bob rhyw awel o athrawiaeth, wedi ein dal gan ystryw y rhai sy'n ddyfeisgar i gynllwynio twyll.

¹⁴that we may no more be babes, tossed and borne about by every wind of the teaching, in the sleight of men, in craftiness, unto the artifice of leading astray,

¹⁵ Na, gadewch i ni ddilyn y gwir mewn cariad, a thyfu ym mhob peth i Grist. Ef yw'r pen,

¹⁵and, being true in love, we may increase to Him [in] all things, who is the head — the Christ;

¹⁶ ac wrtho ef y mae'r holl gorff yn cael ei ddal wrth ei gilydd a'i gysylltu drwy bob cymal sy'n rhan ohono. Felly, trwy weithgarwch cyfaddas pob un rhan, ceir prifiant yn y corff, ac y mae'n ei adeiladu ei hun mewn cariad.

¹⁶from whom the whole body, being fitly joined together and united, through the supply of every joint, according to the working in the measure of each single part, the increase of the body doth make for the building up of itself in love.

¹⁷ Hyn, felly, yr wyf yn ei ddweud ac yn ei argymell arnoch yn yr Arglwydd, eich bod chwi bellach i beidio � byw fel y mae'r Cenhedloedd yn byw, yn oferedd eu meddwl;

¹⁷This, then, I say, and I testify in the Lord; ye are no more to walk, as also the other nations walk, in the vanity of their mind,

¹⁸ oherwydd tywyllwch sydd yn eu deall, a dieithriaid ydynt i'r bywyd sydd o Dduw, o achos yr anwybodaeth y maent yn ei choleddu a'r ystyfnigrwydd sydd yn eu calon.

¹⁸being darkened in the understanding, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart,

¹⁹ Pobl ydynt sydd wedi colli pob teimlad ac wedi ymollwng i'r anlladrwydd sy'n peri iddynt gyflawni pob math o aflendid yn ddiymatal.

¹⁹who, having ceased to feel, themselves did give up to the lasciviousness, for the working of all uncleanness in greediness;

²⁰ Ond nid felly yr ydych chwi wedi dysgu Crist,

²⁰and ye did not so learn the Christ,

²¹ chwi sydd, yn wir, wedi clywed amdano ac wedi eich hyfforddi ynddo, yn union fel y mae'r gwirionedd yn Iesu.

²¹if so be ye did hear him, and in him were taught, as truth is in Jesus;

²² Fe'ch dysgwyd eich bod i roi heibio'r hen natur ddynol oedd yn perthyn i'ch ymarweddiad gynt ac sy'n cael ei llygru gan chwantau twyllodrus,

²²ye are to put off concerning the former behaviour the old man, that is corrupt according to the desires of the deceit,

²³ a'ch bod i gael eich adnewyddu mewn ysbryd a meddwl,

²³and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

²⁴ a gwisgo amdanoch y natur ddynol newydd sydd wedi ei chreu ar ddelw Duw, yn y cyfiawnder a'r sancteiddrwydd sy'n gweddu i'r gwirionedd.

²⁴and to put on the new man, which, according to God, was created in righteousness and kindness of the truth.

²⁵ Gan hynny, ymaith � chelwydd! Dywedwch y gwir bob un wrth ei gymydog, oherwydd yr ydym yn aelodau o'n gilydd.

²⁵Wherefore, putting away the lying, speak truth each with his neighbour, because we are members one of another;

²⁶ Byddwch ddig, ond peidiwch � phechu; peidiwch � gadael i'r haul fachlud ar eich digofaint,

²⁶be angry and do not sin; let not the sun go down upon your wrath,

²⁷ a pheidiwch � rhoi cyfle i'r diafol.

²⁷neither give place to the devil;

²⁸ Y mae'r lleidr i beidio � lladrata mwyach; yn hytrach, dylai ymroi i weithio'n onest �'i ddwylo ei hun, er mwyn cael rhywbeth i'w rannu �'r sawl sydd mewn angen.

²⁸whoso is stealing let him no more steal, but rather let him labour, working the thing that is good with the hands, that he may have to impart to him having need.

²⁹ Nid oes yr un gair drwg i ddod allan o'ch genau, dim ond geiriau da, sydd er adeiladaeth yn �l yr angen, ac felly'n dwyn bendith i'r sawl sy'n eu clywed.

²⁹Let no corrupt word out of your mouth go forth, but what is good unto the needful building up, that it may give grace to the hearers;

³⁰ Peidiwch � thrist�u Ysbryd Gl�n Duw, yr Ysbryd y gosodwyd ei s�l arnoch ar gyfer dydd eich prynu'n rhydd.

³⁰and make not sorrowful the Holy Spirit of God, in which ye were sealed to a day of redemption.

³¹ Bwriwch ymaith oddi wrthych bob chwerwder, llid, digofaint, twrw, a sen, ynghyd � phob drwgdeimlad.

³¹Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil-speaking, be put away from you, with all malice,

³² Byddwch yn dirion wrth eich gilydd; yn dyner eich calon, yn maddau i'ch gilydd fel y maddeuodd Duw yng Nghrist i chwi.

³²and become one to another kind, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, according as also God in Christ did forgive you.
